I don't entirely disagree with you, but I'm curious as to the specifics behind the reason for you believing that Ron Paul is a nut. I used to think he was a total nutcase, but that opinion has lessened in the past few months. -- Rob

probably not what you were expecting -- Rob

So you're saying it's likely it'll end up (as usual) as picking between a giant douche and a turd sandwich. I wish it wouldn't, but it always seems to be that way. -- Rob

well I know some radio operators that are working turns for one not far from here in a few weeks. At least that one has survived. -- Rob

police don't protect anymore. They respond to calls, and investigate complaints. (oh yeah, and write speeding tickets) -- Rob

I believe that those who carry said arms (myself included) understand that minor infractions of politeness do not warrant use of deadly force. In fact, most states outline what permits use of force and deadly force. (in TX, it's in section 9 of the state penal code) most of the time I agree, but when I see a few certain people on this forum going back and forth with veiled personal attacks, sometimes I just wish they'd settle it single-shot style. -- Rob

If Heinlein was right, that'd actually be a fantastic argument against concealed carry. When I'm carrying concealed, am I not "armed"?? You seem to imply such. -- Rob

http://www.wyff4.com/r/29638219/detail.html my favorite from the article: Wright said in his view, gun control is, "Is when you can get your barrel back on the target quick. That’s gun control." -- Rob

30 days is not statistically significant, no. But so far, as observed by local law enforcement, there have been no problems. Just as blood didn't run in the streets and we didn't return to the old west when concealed handgun laws were passed (now in 49 states), there has not been an incident in the past month, which while not statistically significant, is a milestone of sorts. -- Rob

Not entirely surprising considering there is some overlap of ideas. But I'm sure you just meant that as a slight against a group you don't agree with. -- Rob

maybe not enough caffeine this morning... I missed that reference. edit: caffeinated now... ha ha. I get it. -- Rob

Cut Dick some slack... it was a Lawyer he shot. -- Rob

ok, let's talk scale though. the OWS general assembly is asking for half the drum circle's income which ranges reportedly $150-$300 collected "tax". So what's the proper number for scaling that $multi-million figure with? The GDP of the US taxpayers? http://www.google.com/publicdata/explore?ds=d5bncppjof8f9_&met_y=ny_gdp_mktp_cd&idim=country:USA&dl=en&hl=en&q=us+gdp $14.119T in 2009 (scaled dollars) so the AIG bonuses were what... $220M-ish? So they wanted 0.002% of the GDP (check my math, using a shell based calculator) vs 50% of the drum circle's income? GDP may not be the best number to use for scale. Just pulled it out of a hat. I'm open to a different comparison. -- Rob

apparently the drum circle was quite the money raiser. So much so that the general assembly at OWS levied a tax of 50% on their tips. Even though they have this 500K bankroll. They are becoming a copy of the greedy entities they are protesting. -- Rob

I am a lot better with winners doing it ... than a bunch of losers who went for the wrong reasosns... killed thousands.. and didn't even win the damn thing. it's war. nobody wins. grow up. (and you say that like it would be OK if they did "win") -- Rob

what is the typical lifespan of conventional cells being discussed? I haven't researched that in a while, and I'm sure it's changed. -- Rob

well rather than making uncorrected P's, why don't you tell me what the point is. because you would rather stir shit. stir away. -- Rob

I've long held that if you can't pass a test on the current platform of your candidate, then you should be turned away from the polls. Those who vote based solely on party affiliation or name recognition, are ignorant voters and should be required to understand what they're voting for. But apparently that's racist. (or so I've been told) -- Rob

http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1580205;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread This would not be a complaint about inaction or action of a moderator. That can get the post deleted without notice. (one of the other rules postings) I also don't dislike the rules. Complaining about the rules is also a deletable offense. -- Rob

clearly, because bill is NEVER wrong... just ask him. I'm not calling him arrogant or anything. That would be a personal attack. He does kind of remind me of my wife though. It's just simpler to say "yes dear". -- Rob

I was going to make the same joke until I saw where you're from. "temporal" generally refers to time or the passage of time. In common use, it does not mean "temporary", though that is one of it's definitions. The common use word you're looking for is "temporary" meaning not permanent. -- Rob
