i've never seen it myself either but, i've read about it here before. i guess i was looking for clarification. so, misrouted might mean that the strap was put into the buckle on the wrong side of the movable piece so that the strap won't hold; i see. when you say misrouted, i assume you mean misrouted through the reserve metal handle. some rigs also have loop type cutaway handles but, i've never seen a rig with a mini chest strap that also had the loop cutaway (they're all pillows). so, i'm not seeing how having the excess chest strap on the cutaway handle side of the harness would make it harder to see a misrouted chest strap through the reserve handle. you can fly yourself out of your shoes with a moderately loaded (1.0-1.2) modern zp canopy such as a safire or sabre or pilot. the nice things about the bigger, more docile planform canopies is the fact that they have the awesome potential to get you out of trouble once you've put yourself there. believe me, you will get yourself into trouble while you learn. it's the nature of the beast, especially if you plan to be "agressive". i haven't reached the max potential of my sabre2 loaded at 1.2 and it is plenty fun to fly and learn with. i consider myself agressive as a canopy pilot and i'm always amazed at what my canopy has the potential to do if i don't pay complete attention to it. good luck.

i like the libertarian viewpoint on the economy especially but, i'm not sure i'm onboard with the full libertarian govt. view. i like small govt. and i'd like to see less social programs or, at least less investment in them. the main reason i voted for bush this go-around is because i thought he'd be the best person for the job as the commander-in-chief in the current conflicts. that's not too bad as far as i'm concerned. i load my sabre2 170 at about 1.2 and it provides plenty of swoop potential. i'm still dialing in 180's and just now toying with adding entry gates as a factor in my setup. it's got plenty of lift at higher speeds too for when digging is necessary. all in all, 1.2 psf is a pretty good place to learn from and maybe i'm a slow learner but, i feel like i'm barely scratching the surface with about 200 landings where i have induced a higher landing speed. so, for me, i haven't even attempted a 270 approach yet and dialing that in will take me well over the 500 jump mark.
