    Hi BIGUN, When the PC came on the market in early '64 it sold for a retail price of $225.00 and it came on risers with a sleeve; R/W/B only The entire CrossBow rig (main, reserve & h/c) sold for $525.00 at the same time. Jerry

    Hi rainbo, I don't remember calling what they had 'frap wraps' but the single-point release that they had was a multi-lever system. Security eventually licensed this from them for their (Security) rigs. Their lever system was just the reverse of the Y.E.S. system, designed about the same time by Steve Yanta. Almost everything on the 'frap wrap' system went away with the riser, whereas lots of parts stayed on the harness with the Y.E.S. system. As I remember it (??????), Jerry

    Hi Mick, Actually, I think Poynter designed (and patented) the PopTop in the late 60's. Dan went to Europe with the US Team in '67 and then spent some time over there getting lots of ideas on their gear. Anyone else???? Jerry

    About 20 yrs ago I was standing downtown (PDX) waiting to catch the bus to go home after a day of work. I was in my typical suit & tie. Suddenly, a jumper comes walking by. He also is in a suit & tie. We both do a double take and with a "WTF" look at each other. We got to talking and he worked in a bank & I am an engineer; neither of us knew what the other one did. At the dz we were just other folks in whatevers. It was strange moment, made us both laugh. Jerry

    Hi Sparky, Re: the C-8 This thing was a C-9 'except' it had 'gore extensions/stabilizers' on every other gore. They extended down from the 'normal' skirt. A friend had been jumping it when he was in the military in Viet Nam and he 'liberated' it when he got out. It was the only I ever heard of or saw, Jerry

    Hi darkwing, Well, Starlites may have given you bad openings, but that photo is of an original Mk I PC. You can tell because the material at the pulled down apex is of a different material. When they went to custom colors they had to change these panels to the standard taffeta because they could not get this material in colors. Jerry
