  1. Hi BCA, I noticed that the sage green rig has quick ejector snaps hooked up to B-12 (shallow) adjusters. Not a good idea. Too hard to get them apart in a hurry. Jerry
  2. Hi iambeav2, You can reach him at 503-285-5492. You might get a recording depending upon his day job schedule; just leave a message and I am sure he will get back to you. He is one of the nice guys, Jerry
  3. Hi Psychoz, Just something to consider: 1. Think about double-wide leg straps if they are an option for any rig you might buy. This will help spread the opening shock loads over a wider area of your body. 2. BodySport USA (they're on the web) make the original Computer Controlled Fall Rate (sp???) jumpsuit. As I say, just something to consider, Jerry
  4. Hi every, Back in the '60's there was talk of the Italians using a seperate line attached to the apex of their 'normal' round canopies so that they could pull the apex waaaay down to increase the descent rate; they then would let go of the line just before touchdown. Might be an old urban myth. The first I knew of the pulled down apex was on the lifting canopy designed by the Frenchman Lemoigne. He owned the rights to the design and Pioneer bought them from him for use in this country; resulting in the ParaCommander. However, the first canopy on the market with a pulled down apex was Security's CrossBow. HTH, Jerry
  5. Hi Rob, Yup, Jim Straight, a fire-fighter here in Oregon did buy the BodySport USA company; not the Flite Suit Company. The name 'thing' had to do with Crater's divorce and the ex getting the Flite Suit company. Jim will only be at the Symposium for one day; at least per his latest email to me. Jerry
  6. Hi kneepuff, Ray Ferrell's Flight Suit Company is just up the road; on the dz at Davis (Sundance Skydiving). Look's like short trip, Jerry
  7. Hi steves54, I seem to remember something about USPA having the STC for an in-flight door for a 182. Right/Wrong? You might check with them; although an in-flight door is not a canvas roll-up-type. Jerry
  8. Hi mpuettman, When I looked at your photos, that 1st one had me bothered. It looks like the mayor does not have his right side harness snap attached to the TM. Looks OK in later photos, Jerry
  9. Hi John, Please let me politely differ with you. Those were some times I hope that I never forget. Jerry D-1543
  10. Hi countzero, Just go to PD's website and color the canopy as all white, print it out & VOILA. Jerry
  11. If he's making that kind of money you would think he would drop the prices on his rigs. Jerry
  12. Hi AggieDave, Got a photo of your 'slocks?' Jerry
  13. Hi DougH, Like Peek, I started out on my mother's rather lightweight home machine. It taught me quite a lot. A couple of 'heavy-duty' home machines are Singer 401A & Singer 500A. They are about as heavy duty as you will find in a home machine. They both take cams for different stitch patterns. They both are hard to find. But try to see if you can find one. I would suggest you get a 'jeans' needle if you find one of them; it will take 'E' thread. Good luck; I built a lot of stuff (even my first container) on a 401A, Jerry
  14. Mark Twain said it was easy to quit smoking. He did it 400 times. Jerry PS) Fortunately, I have never done it.
  15. Hi life, Send me an email and will discuss with you. No use spending a lot of time here for just your needs. Jerry
  16. Hi Jason42, PD lists used canopies on their website. I am very sure that they would not try to scam you on the condition. Take a look, Jerry
  17. Hi Chris, My first thought is 'Not Good.' I suggest that you contact PD and send the photos to them. I would think that they will take care of this for you. Jerry PS) I would be concerned also. It won't heal itself.
  18. Hi freak, go to: para-publishing.com He sells a Parachute Rigger Study Guide. It is not easy to find on this site but you can contact him; ~$20. Jerry PS) Also Aerographics (publisher of SKYDIVING magazine sells it).
  19. Just a little info for all you folks out there in Gear & Rigging Land. The company that makes SPACER (Gehring Textiles) is rather adamant that it is not Spacer FOAM. And if you were to see it, you would know that it is very definitely not a foam in any sense of the definition. It is a very unique product. Jerry
  20. Hi hjumper33, I know that Kelly at Velocity Sports Equipment makes some VERY fancy ground launch harnesses. You can contact them, just Google velocityrigs.com; or something like that. Jerry
  21. Hi sprtdth, I'll take a guess (and look 'stoopiddd' if I'm wrong). Since Jim Reuter worked for Pioneer I am thinking it was the little pin/tape-wraparound thingy that kept the lines wrapped at the skirt on a 23 ft TriConical until the lines were taut, or something like that. Been a long time since I've seen one; the last time was in Japan in '77. The pin is/was the same pin as used in a pull-out pilot chute system. Anyone else????? Jerry
  22. Hey tbrown, Joe (?) Solis, one of the two Solis brothers from the Bay area had an original R/W/B PC and everytime he would get a patch put in it, he would make the patch a different color than the panel. The original 'clown' PC. And that canopy had a LOT of patches. Jerry
  23. Hi pcrt, As I recall it was just a Strato-Star made for National by Para-Flite but with the Cobra 10 name. I am sure you can get the specs from Para-Flite. Jerry
