Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers
JerryBaumchen replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Hi folks, And, Trump loses another one: We look forward to resuming discovery in this case about a fraud on hard-working Americans perpetrated by Donald Trump and three of his adult children Trump Family Loses Big Appeals Court Fight to Force Fraud and Deceptive Practices Lawsuit into Secret Arbitration (msn.com) I hope that the loses continue to pile up. Jerry Baumchen -
Hi Ken, Re: Another sign that the influence of the dotard is waning. And another one: Trump’s efforts to derail any infrastructure package have, so far, mostly been met with a shrug on Capitol Hill. Trump tries to sabotage the Biden infrastructure deal - POLITICO The power he once thought that he had is waning. So much for the has-been. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Winsor, Re: Unfortunately, I call bullshit on the first sentence of the tenets of "Principles of the CRT Practice" to wit: "Recognition that race is not biologically real but is socially constructed..." IMO 'race' is a man-made thing, i.e. 'socially constructed.' Made to differentiate us. The reasoning, I argue, is very apparent. In nature, 'race' does not exist. All humans vary in color; from Ms. Gillibrand to Mr. James. I vary in color when compared to my brother. IMO this is the way it is in nature. 'Race' wants to categorize us, it wants to separate us; all for the so-called 'benefit' of some. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, Re: demonstrations won't make the coronavirus go away. If they did, wouldn't that be wonderful. Sort of like The Fountain of Youth; nice idea, but that is about it. France Passes Law That Makes Coronavirus Health Pass Required For Dining, Travel : Coronavirus Updates : NPR Jerry Baumchen

Hi Winsor, Re: When the Wall fell, East Germans concept of 'Capitalism' was what they had 'learned' from their teachers (academics?) I disagree. Even during the period of the Third Reich, Germany was a well educated country. They knew what capitalism is/was. It would seem that you think that the world consists of people 40 & under. Hi Ken, I would say, 'No.' The Vector has the reserve top flap going around & under the reserve internal flap. Whereas, the Icon ( and many other rigs ) has the reserve top flap 'tucked' into the bottom reserve flap. IMO each has a distinct design to 'hold' the reserve top flap. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, How sweet it is: A conservative radio talk show host who said 'you're probably safer not getting' the vaccine is now seriously ill with COVID-19 (msn.com) Jerry Baumchen

Energy Storage: Is this the game changer?
JerryBaumchen replied to billeisele's topic in Speakers Corner
Hi Bill, When I read this post, the first thing to cross my mind was this: March 10, 1876: 'Mr. Watson, Come Here ...' | WIRED Almost all of us carry a phone that has come a long way from what they used. The advancements in technology always amaze me. I hope it continues. Jerry Baumchen -
Hi Terry, Before that device came into being, I just would use a centerpunch & a ball peen hammer. The centerpunch to slightly spread the end of the rivet & then, ever so carefully, use the hammer to finish. If you take your time, you can make it as good as using that tool. Jerry Baumchen PS) Cash that check.

Hi folks, Interesting news from the NFL: players on both teams will not be paid their weekly game checks, and the team responsible for the cancelled game due to unvaccinated players would be responsible for covering lost revenue from that game NFL warns teams COVID-19 outbreak among unvaccinated players will lead to forfeits: Report - oregonlive.com We tried giving people money to get vax'd. Now, maybe taking away their money may work. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Ken, Or, as my grandmother used to say: 'Want and be damned.' Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, Looks like some more rats maybe leaving the ship: Michael Cohen says he thinks Jared Kushner has already flipped on Trump (msn.com) Kushner's name . . . absent from "all the controversy, indictments and arrests" Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, Looks like Bob Dole just wants him 'forgotten': Former GOP presidential nominee Bob Dole says he's 'sort of Trumped out' (msn.com) IMO we're all a little 'Trumped out.' Jerry Baumchen

Hi Bill, Re: These are the sort of issues we are going to be facing more and more often over the coming decades. It was in the late 60's or early 70's that then Sen. Mark Hatfield (R- Oregon) gave a speech to his fellow Republicans about the shortage of water becoming a disaster waiting to happen. Some in the audience actually boo'd him for bringing such a crazy idea up. Jerry Baumchen

Hi One, It has been many years since I've used one of those things. Do you have extra rivets? If so, just experiment until you know which to use. If I had it in my hands I could probably show you. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Wendy, Re: But this is also about convincing people of the truth And: Benjamin Franklin . . . in a letter to Jean-Baptiste Leroy . . . : "In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes." You can try to convince people of the truth, but you will not be fully successful. It is sort of like those that refuse to get vax'd. IMO nothing is going to get them to change their minds. We need to get the investigation going and let the chips fall where they may. Of the GOP does not want to partake, then they can live with the outcome. As Rhett Butler said: Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Wendy, Re: I think they need to include one (not two) congresscritters who voted against certifying. Using your criteria, they have many to choose from. And, therein lies the problem. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, OK, which one would you believe: Paul suggested that Fauci had lied before Congress Dr. Anthony Fauci confronts Sen. Rand Paul at hearing: ‘If anybody is lying here, senator, it is you’ - Baltimore Sun Alex', I'll take Dr. Fauci for $200.' Jerry Baumchen

Hi Sky, Re: Republicans win the PR war with their base There are moments when I think that this is the only thing that they really care about. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, IMO total horsepucky: Kevin McCarthy: ‘ . . . pursue our own investigation of the facts’ IMO one thing McCarthy does not want is an 'investigation of the facts.' Nancy Pelosi Says Jim Jordan, Jim Banks Can't Serve On Jan. 6 Committee : NPR Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, And a follow-up: I hold their hand and tell them that I’m sorry, but it’s too late. ‘I’m sorry, but it’s too late’: Alabama doctor on treating unvaccinated, dying COVID patients - oregonlive.com Jerry Baumchen PS) I'm Sorry I Made You Cry - Connie Francis 1958 - YouTube

Hi Keith, I consider myself as someone who cares about his fellow man; I vote for most bond issues for police, fire, etc. However, I am with you; tell Hell with them. Jerry Baumchen PS) A week or so ago, the local news had a story about a 37-43 yr old guy who lives in a rather rural town about 35 miles from Portland. As you would expect, he wanted nothing to do with the vax. He got it, spent ~ 4 months in the hospital, got a double-lung transplant; and now believes in the vax. You simply cannot fix stupid; so why try?

Oregon - where do you like? Experienced
JerryBaumchen replied to kleggo's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hi Kleggo, Last summer I gave my Carabella, that I bought in 1974, to the neighbor kid who mows my lawn. Hopefully, he will get some good miles out of it. Jerry Baumchen -
Hi folks, Maybe he was 'forgotten' before he was known: There is nobody who believes that when Donald Trump goes somewhere he does not generate the biggest, largest, and most rambunctious crowds on the planet Trump aide says they paid actors to appear at his 2016 presidential campaign announcement (msn.com) Jerry Baumchen

Hi Rob, Good analysis. When you say, 'only make black rigs on Monday and Tuesday, blue rigs on Wednesday, red rigs on Thursday, etc,' I'm thinking you mean the trim and harness; yes/no? This usually when the thread colors get changed out. Quite a few years before I sold AeroSports USA, I made the decision that all internal flaps would be made out of black only. This decision saved a fair amount of time to build a rig. Plus, these flaps can be made ahead of time; as you mentioned about d-bags, pilot chutes, etc. The largest cost of a rig is the labor hours, not the materials. Jerry Baumchen
