Hi Don, ^^^^ THIS. I am thinking that this is what Joe Weber was thinking in his OP. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, Just this past week I was thinking he would be a very good candidate. He has his detractors in his home state; but, who doesn't. How about Pete G for the #2 slot? Where do I send the donation check? Jerry Baumchen
-
Hi Bill, Pete B was who I wanted to get the nomination two yrs ago. I do agree that one 'flaw' can still be a problem. It is a damn shame that this country is not yet beyond that. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Ken, I'm with you. Last time around he was in an Anybody But Trump scenario. That will not work in two years. Re: he will need to inspire voters In 2008, a young, virtually unknown senator from Illinois did just that. When I would listen to Obama speak, it reminded me of JFK in Berlin in the summer of '63. When I listen to Biden speak, I am reminded of a very old man. While I wish it were not true, age does take a toll. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, IMO Biden is a very nice guy. It ends there. Your post is exactly why I did not want Biden to get the nomination two yrs ago. Joe Biden has been an achiever all of his life; he has never been & never will be, a leader. If the Dems don't dump him ( 'I'm choosing to not run for re-election' ala LBJ in '68 ) then the GOP has a clear shot at the office. Jerry Baumchen PS) Since it has just come out, I have not had a chance to read it [Hearts Touched With Fire] Washington insider David Gergen's advice for the nation's older political leaders: Step aside - CBS News David Gergen - Wikipedia ETA: Hearts Touched with Fire | Book by David Gergen | Official Publisher Page | Simon & Schuster (simonandschuster.com)

Hi Stumpy, While this is a little off-topic, I'm with you. They are ridiculous. I have not worn one since I retired in late 2002. Jerry Baumchen PS) + I consider them dangerous as it is easy grab a tie & to control the wearer.

Hi airdvr, Having been the subject of numerous beatings while growing up, I think I do. My two kids never got more than one spank when, IMO it was deserved. Before we had children, I read an article on child discipline that said to never spank a child with your hand as it makes the child fear you. It said to always use an object [rolled up newspaper as one example], then the child fears that object. I always used a wooden 12" ruler. Eventually, I only had to say, 'I'm getting the ruler,' and they became good citizens. Jerry Baumchen

Hi airdvr, Then why did you post: Just ask Nancy. Jerry Baumchen

Hi John, Good riddance. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Seth, At my local fabric store, I recently came across an elastic that they call a 'belting' elastic. I have not used any of it. The ladies at the fabric store told me that it is made to not twist when used in belting. It comes in 1" and 1 1/2" widths as I recall. Jerry Baumchen

Hi airdvr, Do you actually think Mitch did? Jerry Baumchen

Hi Bill, Re: The Constitution does not tell people what their rights are. The Constitution tells the government what rights they may take from people. THIS - THIS - THIS I am completely lost why people, who consider themselves thinking people, cannot grasp this. Thanks for the great commentary. Jerry Baumchen -
Hi John, She is setting a lot of what has been hard earned for women, back about 50 yrs. IMO every woman in this country should be ashamed of her. She is an insult to her sex. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, This is a somewhat long article to get to this part: Her stance doesn't stem from her Roman Catholic beliefs, she explained, but from her love of life itself. I say BullShit. Hi Wendy, Alas, I do think you & I will be long gone before this happens; if ever. As Ken, says: What an awful, awful, awful country this is. We are truly leaving this country in worse shape than we found it. Our grandchildren may despise us for that. Jerry Baumchen PS) Hi Joe; I have a pizza on order for later today => so I'm OK.
