Sure he was peddling the perception of influence, if that gets you to sleep tonight, but I'm guessing that some real chumps paid big bucks for baggies filled with parsley.

This is from Comers Committee on Oversight webpage: "On July 26, 2019, Hunter Biden received a $10,000 wire from Wang Xin. On August 2, 2019, Hunter Biden received a $250,000 wire from Jonathan Li and Tan Ling. Both wires originated in Beijing and Joe Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware home is listed as the beneficiary address for both wires." As an earlier poster tried patiently to explain to you the "beneficiary address" is meaningless. That it was Hunter who received the wire is explicit. No evidence that Joe Biden received a single coin with a square hole from China exists to date. Well, in the real world that is.
-
Have you ever received an international wire? It's not dropped off at the door by UPS, it goes to the receiving bank. That's not what happened. Oh, he took the bribes, there can be no doubt about that just not by wire. What my informants have told me is that Big Man Joe met Xi Jinping at the middle of a bridge on a dark and stormy night where they exchanged brief cases and Dim Sum recipes.

This Fow News host is fun, though.

The ridiculousness of the idea that a President should be impeached under a tit-for-tat legal theory in the hopes that some impeachable offense will be revealed is just gobsmackingly absurd. And it's not that Comer and Jones don't admit it, they do, and they see no problem with it. The cultists themselves are as blind to the real purpose of the impeachment process, much less what might constitute an impeachable offense. They're all like those Zombie Ants that keep climbing up the grass until they get eaten by a cow: it's a brain infection that drives their behavior and no amount of conversation can ever hope to change them.

You are plagiarizing General Smedley Butler. Stop being so transparent. This year, according to the WHO, over 5 million kids under the age of 5 will die from mostly preventable and treatable causes. If you aren't a Russian troll then look to where "kids" are really dying for no good reason and put your efforts there.

Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers

I can just imagine the smile on the Baboons face when he was first told he would be introduced to working business models. -
Unions are like condoms. Sure they offer real protection to those who need it but it's a whole lot more fun without them.

Letita James was granted partial summary judgment. Skip reading the whole thing and just read the Orders. It appears his ticket has been cancelled. 452564_2022_PEOPLE_OF_THE_STATE_OF_v_PEOPLE_OF_THE_STATE_OF_DECISION___ORDER_ON_1531.pdf -
Given that Trump left Biden holding the bag and no choices I'd say it was fair game to toss out the Trump card. In the end it is always some politician (s) that call the end and what follows is more on them individually than the "US" collectively.

That's one hell of a defense counselor.

12000/100=1200. 1200/50=24. 24=2 cases of wine. 2 cases of wine equals 12 days, more likely 10. No matter how you add it up you can divide it. Why is that so hard to understand?

Do you honk your horn, your car horn, and how much does that cost per honk? How much per turn signal or, and here's the biggie, can poor people even afford to drive EV's at night? I've done the maths (thanks Olof) and anyway you cut it if you are poor you cannot beat the overall economies of a Mercedes no matter how elite you are.
-
And driving a Mercedes isn't signaling anything? You know, it well might be that EV's are a cul-de-sac off the super highway leading to a future not dependent on fossil fuels. But even if you believe that 1000ppm CO2 is both salubrious and an awesome goal the bottom line is still that fossil fuels will eventually be too depleted to mine economically. In your Luddite like world view we should just stay chill and enjoy the benefits now and let the future take care of itself. I can't buy that way of thinking because the risks to our one planet, and to your own kids, are too great. In the words of Marcus Aurelius: "That which isn't good for the hive, isn't good for the bee."

We need to keep some perspective whilst we're self flagellating. We have pulled some real boners, that's a fact, but we're not alone. Russia, France, England, Spain, etc. have all had a turn in the barrel and have also done a fine job of pissing off entire countries and populations.
-
You've got your tenses all mixed up.

I've been employing homeless people for 34 years and I'm telling you they are good folks who can do the job.
-
Can't we train homeless people to drive trucks? I mean, they're already used to not being home, right?
-
That's a crazy premium just to look cool in a Mercedes. How much is a PCV Valve replacement in a Tesla?
-
Yep, and the problem is that it's more in our nature to conquer the weak than to help them be strong.
-
OK, so then what explains all of the starving people we already have? Food is one component, delivery infrastructure is another.

Initiative almost always wins the day even when faced with a new culture and a new language. In America even those who support a strong social net do so in a somewhat limited way. Who here, for example, is willing to give up 50% or more of what they earn to feed only the hungry in America? Someone might chirp that they would but the caveat will be that it has to be the same for all and that is just not happening. I don't think it's a problem our species can solve without giving up on the idea of equal rights for all. That is: we'll feed you and house you but the choices are all ours and you'll live by our rules or else. Like the rules kids live by. But we can't do that, so that's out, too. Now, it's true that the concept of a basic income has some merit but just wait until there are enough takers on the dole to form unions and demand more. Imagine a Million Peasant March on Washington or mass sit in's on Wall Street. I wouldn't bet against the possibility.
-
Indeed. We too often have abhorred, with our traditional dissonance, the fecundity of those we would welcome into our nation at a time when we need low level workers. And that group of us includes liberal cantaloupe eaters. But then here we are, encouraging our own kids to reproduce by offering them financial support while wondering where their kids might work in a future economy. Certainly, we have no worries because our kids will be the smart kids, I guess.

Might be the only solution is an Alien Visitation (assuming they also have free food recombobulators) or, probably better, a big ass meteor. If we ever find one on a Slim Pickens trajectory and big enough to squash us we'll deserve the outcome if we don't name it Jesus.
