  1. You know, the last thing I want to do is cause any problems, but as I think about it maybe if the mod's weren't vacuuming up likes there would be more for the working stiffs on SC. Why do the corner office types need Green Merits, anyway?
  2. Well now you owe us both a like
  3. I don't see how the new law doesn't negatively impact property values in the future. Reduced property tax and interest rate deductions reduce the amount a borrower can pay to buy a house. The change in home equity loan interest deductions now mean your home equity is almost as unavailable as your 401K; that is yes to the new bedroom but no to the new boat. That also impacts the value of a home. Seems to me that anyone in the middle-ish area of the economy should be taking into account the actual value of their home. Not just today, but also when happily ever after arrives. They might conclude that the couple of grand in new tax law benefit they are spending today is simply spending their home equity.
  4. Do you mind disclosing if any of the increase was due to the changes in interest rate and property tax deductions?
  5. And you'd be right. Wanna know how I imagine you?
  6. Nope. Hoodie. I'm guessing you guy's don't get out much.
  7. I see him sitting in the cockpit of his Subaru Outback, drumming his fingers on the steering wheel, occasionally patting a wad of one dollar bills in his pocket, impatiently glancing at his watch and thinking WTF, are they going to open today or what?

    WWIII???

How wonderfully novel, and convenient. Evolution is simply Creation in God's own time. What a difference a day makes! And Lo!, layer upon layer of silty earth and creatures who didn't survive the design phase were laid from one edge of the new lands to the other until the edges folded unto each other and the world was round and it was good. Problem solved!
  9. Come on man, if you need to go there at least have the balls to go big and get a warning from the mods. Also, editing is for fixing spelling errors not making them.
  10. And of those who applauded his homophobic rant there were those who, apparently likened it to a good sermon, and said "amen".
  11. Apparently your situation is such that the limits on property tax and interest deductions aren't negatives. Are property values are still rising in your area against those headwinds?
  12. That'll depend. Are you a home owner or buyer?

    WWIII???

I'm convinced we'll look back on the last few months as the Golden Age of Speakers Corner.

    WWIII???

Good on you. There's a time for political correctness and a time to stand up for what you know is right. But there should be no time for the slandering of our LGBTQ brothers and sisters by the willfully ignorant.
  15. CNN interviewed 23 employees out of 323,000 or 360,000 Target employees/workers. Both numbers are used in the article so maybe 37,000 aren't hourly, who knows? But without a broader picture there is nothing I consider worth considering in the article, including the conclusions drawn. Interestingly one interviewee, Heather, received a one buck raise for her efforts. I have no idea what is really going on at Target, how CNN chose the interviewees, or if it was just disgruntled worker day but, if it's true, $14 and hour plus health benefits above 30 hours a week for brick and mortar retail work is not harsh treatment in today's environment.

That must be some sort of ultimate insult. I know I said ouch and I'm not Scottish.

And still there are some who think atheist's are insensitive to their victims.
  18. I'm not sure where you've been, but in case you haven't noticed, our material is doing just fine. I mean it's survived almost 2000 years of persecution - the harder you fight the stronger we get, thanks be to God. The bigoted principles of atheism failed the soviets even when accompanied by force, and they will fail again under today's more passive approach, finally liberating atheists from delusions of some kind of atheist utopia. In fairness the persecution hasn't gone on uninterrupted. You boy's have had your turn at bat on more than a few occasions. And your material isn't doing just fine, and you well know that. Nothing in the Bible has been proven by archeology. In fact, much has been disproven by a lack of evidence. Maybe Haldane said it or didn't but there have been no rabbits found in precambrian deposits. In fact, rational, logical and scientifically sound discoveries only strengthen the fact of evolution every day. I won't go down the list, you don't care. You'd rather believe in Noah and his Ark. The truth is that your material is a proven falsehood except to you and your mutual validation society. And to be clear I do not give a shit what you believe. I do give a shit that you persist with your woe is me persecution narrative which is foundational to the Christian claims that go from your silly War on Christmas to your tax exemptions. Just go somewhere and believe at your own expense and leave the rest of us alone, please.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't thank you he was thinking. And what the hell are you doing back? I thought I aborted you.
  20. You folks, and your text, are simply unbelievable. It's as if you wander through life with one hand covering an eye, constantly bumping into reality, unable to perceive the true depth of things, and not allowed to even take a peek because there lay's the work of Satan and perdition will surely be your end. And you think it's we who need new material. Wow.
  21. Not necessarily. That crowds not too sharp. Maybe we can backdoor Roger into the slot for a President Ponce. He's an excellent big way Captain so there is no reason he couldn't be an excellent President.
  22. Fair enough, the thread drift was excessive. That said, this post makes me think your original post was less solution driven than agenda driven. No matter, on first blush I'm not a fan. Conceivably, it could put more impaired drivers on the road. For example, my rule is to never drive after even one drink. But, if I had a device to prove me innocent and not guilty at the whim of a junior cops field sobriety test, who knows? Then also, would it be a stay out of jail thing or just more evidence used against you? How long before it is hackable and an app on your iPhone advises you to avoid me? Those sorts of things.
