Not really. I know airplanes and have been an investor in the market for 30 years. I'll take a bargain off the market in a heartbeat. There are others like me.

The borrower is weak if they need to do anything. They aren't dumb nor charitable unless forced into it. And, if there is a co-signer they may say sell to protect their assets. Like I said, if you can not take a year of pain you will very likely have real problems. Also, early on in the loan cycle a lot of the payment is interest.

Usually there is at least 20% down and, unless there are other pledged assets, solid market data to support the purchase price. If you have no long term track record of growth they may not want to kick the can down the road to an uncertain future. They might see it as better to seize it and wholesale it now.

I'm pretty sure you nailed it earlier, this will wash out DZ's that can not take a year of pain. Up and coming Turbine DZ's will get hammered. $100K aircraft payments, $30-35K insurance, $40K advertising, $40-50K facilities lease plus whatever else you pay every month. I doubt many have an extra quarter million to stay the course.

That is simply a ridiculous but typical right wing nonsense statement. The police protect you, the fire department protects you, our military protects you. Also, outside of when conservatives get power the EPA, CDC, etc. etc.. protects you. FEMA protects you from starving or freezing to death after a hurricane. Your statement implies, for example, that unless FEMA could prevent hurricanes they are a useless government waste. That is the problem with the right wing world view.

Not for myself or T we're, for the most part, comfortably self isolated. But I'm damn scared for my staff, up jumpers, my nieces, nephews and their kids and each and every one of our friends who can not do much more than hope right now. Not to be morbid but I do not want to add this virus to the list of things that has taken away someone I care for. Maybe you should be scared.

Excellent point. I do think it's time for our masters to advise DZO's that hell might actually hit and USPA's best advice is to prepare. For DZ's that are not established, or have family money as a backstop, this could be an end game event. We strap our high value customers to our even more high value instructors. We pack ourselves into aircraft like sardines. Schools are closing. Gatherings are being outlawed. Anyone who believes skydiving is immune is an idiot. As they shouted down to the galley slaves: stand by for the ram.

That's a relief, it wasn't supposed to be a joke or an accusation or whatever else you are sensitive about this morning. It was a simple illustration of a certain level of hypocrisy in today's political discourse.

It's not about blaming any person. Ed's a cool dude in my book but he is the face and voice of USPA until the end of 2020. USPA only recommends and suggests consequences for not taking those recommendations to heart. Seems to me this would be right in their wheelhouse. It wouldn't take much, just a missive that barely touches on the potential consequences. But thinking that DZO's, and what a bunch they are, will with conscious volition contact the CDC or the state and local health authorities for guidance, much less follow it, is wishful thinking at best and panicked fleeing at worst.

I asked Ed Scott if USPA had an opinion. His Sergeant Schultz response: "We have discussed the implications of the pandemic on skydiving. I’ve determined that USPA should not be a source for health or medical advice. Instead, people should consult the CDC and their state and local public health departments. I presume DZOs now know that if they choose to open they should take steps to encourage good hygiene among staff and customers, and take steps to turn away any who are symptomatic. But I hope they also know that those steps are no guarantee against infection." Yes, we have no bananas, we have no bananas today. Someday's we're a membership organization and some day's we're not. Oy, vey.
