  1. Do you watch Fox News? Great bunch, they are. Even they say there is nothing there.
  2. Great question. I'll get back to you on that. Right now I'm in the middle of my war on Christmas.
  3. No one is infallible but I don't think starting with questioning yourself is the best idea. Rather question what you believe until you have no other choice than to question yourself.

    Q

Can we have our money back so we can fix our problems?
  5. Mark, A few decades ago, well before the crowds, we hired a long tail boat to take us out to the island of Koh Yao Yai 20 or so miles off of Koh Phi Phi, Thailand. No one was there except a Muslim family who put us up in their guest house which was a shack. They were super devout to where the husband walked around with splayed feet and other affectations. We were fed and treated as guests and it was a delight. After everyone else went to bed and he and I drank his one beer and a fair shot of my whiskey and we just shot the shit like guys do except for the language barriers. The next day it was back to being devout. The point is, like the very most of Christians in America, he was an adherent because that's how he was raised. And like most self identifying Christians, he couldn't tell you what was actually in his holy book, good or bad. But he identified with it and was Muslim. That is just one experience. We have dozens of similar experiences with muslims in Indonesia and Malaysia and elsewhere. At the end of the day both the Bible and the Koran are disasters that encourage slaughter and inequality. Fortunately, the majority of adherents to both have no clue what is in the books and are thus essentially harmless.

Any issues, Joe. They just don't have a personal need to know. I've often thought the "alternative facts" thing was a very well designed argument intended to resonate, because it is validating, with the religious. Credit where it's due it really worked. It sucks to have to face it but we are really separate groups. Now we're just the States of America.

That and Brownian Motion should cause a lot of the individual particles to be captured.

Rest your weary mind, I'll hate him enough for the both of us.
  9. Super awesome guy. Did lot's of jumps and tunnel with him over the years. One year, at an invitational at the home zone, I had a tooth problem that was a real pain. That night, after sufficient anesthetic was applied, Nick got after it with whatever was handy in the kitchen while the whole load looked on giving encouragement. Good times, great memories. He'll be sorely missed, that's a fact.
  10. There is a free jump for you on account at Skydive Oregon.
  11. Yes, well, I supplied a pretty graph, honey (thanks for permission Wendy!). So there!
  12. The nincompoop in chief thought that he could get Netanyahu to degrade the likely next US president on an open line call. What a maroon.
  13. 'tis. For a change the nation is going to hell elsewhere than here. https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2020/health/coronavirus-us-maps-and-cases/#! Until tomorrow probably but today the bird and bunny people rule!
  14. Yee-hah! 'Cause herd stupidity here we are!
  15. This is hands down the best advice you will receive, that's assuming you are aware enough to get your weight normalized before any elective surgery. I call it pre-hab. Even if it hurts it'll save you from a lot of more painful rehab.
  16. Look at you! It's never too late to work on ones vocabulary, usage and context being pedantic concerns don't you know? What?
  17. Tony Bobulinski? Now I need to unsnort the tea off of my keyboard.
  18. That's the general idea. 6 hours of depo and 2+ hours of travel time per day and their clients get nada except a fat bill. Sets a very conciliatory tone.
  19. Probably it was the lawyers depo style and how she was coached. Depositions are tricky bits with the trickiest bit not saying something that reads as something else later on. I like to listen to the question, write the question down, and then read back the question asking if I had it correctly. If so then a bit of pondering is in order before offering a yes or no or not much more. If not then rinse, wash, repeat.
  20. Well, it's just unfortunate it's fallen to me to say it but you've been resting on your laurels far too long. We expect more, and honestly, it's fine if you just make something up. Entertain us, please.
  21. Why? We have you. Please search out some cool stuff and post it.
  22. So what? He's Canadien and fair game. I tried fitting in a dose of Fox for a while just to combat the argument that I only watch/listen to________________ fill in the blank. But it is just a waste of time and completely predictable. I don't think there is anything to be learned about anyone from watching it that we don't already know. Especially the people who believe it's "fair and balanced".
  23. "President Donald Trump’s campaign is secretly paying one Trump son’s wife and another one’s girlfriend $180,000 a year each through the campaign manager’s private company, according to top Republicans with knowledge of the payments. Kimberly Guilfoyle, the girlfriend of eldest son Donald Trump Jr., and Lara Trump, wife of middle son Eric Trump, are each receiving $15,000 a month, according to two GOP sources who are informal White House advisers and who spoke on condition of anonymity. They were unsure when the payments began but say they are being made by campaign manager Bradley Parscale through his company rather than directly by either the campaign or the party in order to avoid public reporting requirements. “I can pay them however I want to pay them,” Parscale told HuffPost on Friday, but then declined to comment any further." It might not matter but it seems like Trumps campaign is flailing around over Biden's online donation advantage. Given that Trump is his own worst enemy helping that advantage seems smart to me.
  24. Simply put and completely right. Some people here on SC have a near preternatural ability to miss the point entirely. Others here seem bent on proving the existence or wormholes through argument. But mostly it's all pretty damn simple: compare, weigh and move on.
