If we do it right, but we won't because we're Liberals and can't organize a three person marble game if we all came and also brought the marbles, we could back door this into the biggest left wing coup ever. No Vaccination? No Vote in person. No Vaccination? No in person gun buying. No Vaccination? Get away from my good seat at the Sushi bar. The list is endless.

??? Um, it's an internet vote.

Hey Jerry, I'll review the data and, as necessary, revise my thinking. But I'm pretty sure there are very underrepresented groups. Joe

The social experiment started on July 1, 1973 when the draft ended and we turned soldiering into a federal jobs program. Yes, 10% do go into combat but for the majority they have guaranteed jobs with education benefits. My nephew served in the US Navy as an avionics technician in Fresno. Yep, we have a Navy base in the California desert. He, like most who join, was just in for the job and the benefits. I don't doubt the integrity of your friends in any way and everyone has the right to change. But we do not bring a representative cross section of the country into our military.

But are these newly minted Democrats Liberals? Do they support any gun control legislation at all? Perhaps now when they can see they were a part of the greatest experiment in socialism in our history the idea of the public dole suddenly seemed, for some strange reason, somewhat less offensive? No matter, the real problem is the stand alone assertion that they became Democrats with no conclusion as to why. Of course we know why, it's because like the majority of our soldiers, they were Republican. Not coincidentally, they were also more likely to be Christians. In plain language, that means they do not truly represent America. And that is what I find discomfiting about your statement.

I didn't mean to disparage. I totally respect the religious nature of Hot Yoga. You're on a mat, you get up and down on command, and you spend the entire hour trying to not get caught looking where you aren't supposed to look. If that isn't church, what is?
-
Horse-fucking-shit. You have an agenda, as ever, and you are getting stomped, as usual. Playing the old "I'm just trying to learn here, fellows" card is getting old.
-
Buddy, you left a lot to unpack with that statement much of which isn't comforting to the majority of Americans who are paying for those young veterans.
-
Still, they could have gone for half or a full cycle. Maybe it was for lack of other names. Borschday? Cowday? They just don't work somehow.

What else is there to add? It dripped sarcasm, added a canard and, in just a few words, pointed out the futility of even attempting to answer your question. I only knew he'd posted because I was certain I'd heard his hand slap his forehead.

It's possible that Chauvin was inspired by your postings here. No need to look further, right?
-
There it is then, we are a society that cannot afford justice where our police are concerned. Let's just up him a pay grade, give him full retirement benefits, a new Tesla and name the street where he killed Floyd Chauvin Way. That'll make everyone happy.

Your point is intact and, for myself, the answer is no. My issue with Christianity in the USA is that it is on a mission to insert itself to the point of domination in every facet of our lives and it does so unapologetically. As an American atheist I am very much opposed to that as it is actively happening to me on my home turf. There is zero live and let live involved where religion is concerned. Now, if I were living in a country dominated by Islam and was opposed to it I just might take a swipe at those assholes there instead of the American assholes here who don't really affect my daily life. And that is why I have a box of demerits for blasting Ron and not a single one for opposing adherents of hot yoga.

Jefferson. Sorry, I wasn't apt enough to think about the signing before I blew off my big bazzoo.

That's otherism and has no place here. Ken is spot on, as usual. If this isn't a playground of ideas where the quality of the ideas is important then prepare for a lot less participation.

Here's the problem, Rich, to be knowledgable about things you must read and you must listen. If you are absorbing knowledge you are also, by default, absorbing knowledgable presentation. For example, if you are inspired by a thing someone wrote or said when you share it with others you attribute the quote or text. Doing so shows respect not just for the writer or speaker but also for the idea. If the idea is your own and your desire is to persuade thinkers then you need to write in the language of thinkers. Doing so shows respect for yourself. Illiterate blathering is not equivalent communication. If you want your thoughts to be taken seriously you should cease presenting them disrespectfully and unseriously.

Is English your second language?

Not only China has wet markets. I was in one in Hoi An Vietnam, south of Danang, that was mind blowing. If it creeps, crawls, swims, fly's, digs a whole or could be dinner or a pet depending on your mood it was available. The floor was nothing short of a wet gory mess as laughing, happy people were chopping off heads, gutting, draining blood, plucking and skinning. Frogs were sold alive but conveniently skinned and with the head trimmed back to behind the eyes. Cat (mèo) could be had anyway you preferred. When refrigeration is in short supply you want it as fresh as possible.

I'm thinking I need to get you hooked up with my guy. That bad shit is fucking you up.

It doesn't take genius to know that a hound dog will hunt a ham bone.

Sure, but did they have it coming?

How long until the cops defense is that he told the kid to put down the toy and then the little bastard pointed it right at him and smirked. Had to shoot him, no choice really.

Is there anything too implausible for you to believe? Reality check Ron, there are Doctors here that you don't believe, what makes the ones you do magic?

Apparently, you can take the Wendy out of Texas but you cannot take the Texas out of Wendy.

I don't doubt he's wearing his favorite pair right now.
