Well, there is that.

Worse, how is it that USPA does not see this? Egregious, unforgivable behavior like this goes on and USPA President Chuck Akers is over on Bonfire helping folks find study partners on Facebook while Luke absurdly contends that no other participants had a clue about the FAA denial. Andy didn't ask? National Director Larry Hill didn't ask? Red Bull didn't ask? Really? What a joke we are.

No big surprise. I was partners with the Farrington clan in two turbine aircraft. I was beyond thrilled to walk away from the partnership and the money just to get away.

Nope. We still have you. It's past 11pm out there in Pennsyltuckey, are you already done making tomorrows pancake batter? I checked out https://www.agitate.com/ but that's taken. However, http://stirtheshit.com/ is still available. Seeing as how mindless blogging is not just a thing but a real job these days maybe you have a future. Of course, my usual 10% vig applies.

70 Million Trump lovers equals 140 Million +/- eyeballs. That's a lot of looks to sell to advertisers.

Do you think I'm not racked with guilt? Some day's it's overwhelming, if you must know. For example, tonight I limited myself to an excellent bottle of wine. Good thing I'm a stoic, I guess.

They claim the T-14 has a slightly better range than the Abrams and those did ok against T-72's.
-
T-14 did you mean? I haven’t seen any report saying so.

Be careful Brent, I think he's a troll.

You're right. But I fear that someone is us. That is nothing more than a template of their winning strategy. Vilify, vilify and then vilify some more and, critically, stay cohesive and on message. They speak to their voters, we talk past each other. Consider Alito's draft decision. Biden should be on TV forcefully rebuking the decision and promising America that Democrats won't let it stand if we win in November. Rinse, wash and then repeat again.

One dollar, one vote.

Hence, why I've said some people are dangerous. Until and unless those in opposition are willing and able to speak out, no matter the forum, against any and all who support this likely future we have no chance. Right now we're competing with each other, like dogs, over the orts. We have less than 5 months until control of the next several decades is decided and we are more concerned over appearances than winning. No wonder we keep losing.

Actually, the best Russian tank at the moment, until the Burlak is developed, is the T-14 Armata. It truly is a jewel of a main battle tank with many advantages including an unmanned turret, a protective armored compartment for the crew, advanced targeting, a superior explosive armor defense system, a 1500HP engine etc. They've been showing it off at parades since 2015 and planned serious production starting 2018. But at USD $4 million a copy there was, apparently, too much money to be skimmed so only some (20-40?) have been built. Had they actually built several hundred that could have been deployed early things might have turned out very differently. Spasiba, Russian Oligarchs.

A million dead, and it didn't have to be that way.
JoeWeber replied to kallend's topic in Speakers Corner
I for one find value in these posts. It reminds me of who is beating us into the ground while we protest mightily yet remain unable to negotiate, go to the polls, or bite our tongues when we don't get 100% of what we want. Nuanced thought and intellect isn't winning. They are. -
I read the transcript and I find it believable that he was experienced before. He was hand flying the aircraft, that is to say it was not on autopilot when he took over or put on autopilot subsequently, and was changing frequencies, taking cell phone numbers, holding altitudes and headings and saying dumb stuff like: "So, I've got the coast in my headlights" during daylight hours and then "10-4. What heading do I need to be at....". Maybe he's a one in a many millions winner or a long time game player but I've seen qualified candidates deviate more with only minor unexpected distractions introduced. We'll see.

Seems reasonable to me that the first actor to call for an inquiry into the leak could well have been someone who really needed to take a leak: Roberts. Now that everyones panties are sufficient wadded over the draft he can change his vote to the majority and reassign the case for opinion to one of Trumps 3 Stooges knowing that they'd be on the historical hot seat and knowing that a more extreme opinion is unlikely.

That's obvious and simplistic. We who do this are all, generally, open to risk. But that's not what is the problem here. The problem is that an official of the United States Parachute Association whose family operates a large DZ asked the Federal Aviation Administration for a waiver from the Federal Aviation Regulations to perform the stunt and was denied in writing. He then ignored that denial and went ahead with the attempt over United States soil. That is bad for skydiving and skydivers in America by making us look like scofflaws at the highest levels of our organization. That's the problem.

It's now on offer to have 10kW motors integrated with the standard diesel engines on some vessels. The UK company that makes the best system has discontinued addition retrofits, they want to sell the combo only, but I'm not giving up. Those and another 10kW of Lithium and I'd be styling. The future is here, no waiting required.

Easy Luv, I clearly stated that we needed to shine some light on the cockroaches not kill them. Further, and I'd rather choke on a chicken bone that speak the words, I wrote that we needed to continue the subsidies "sufficiently and progressively" until happily ever after arrives. Now I suppose someone might read that as a call for a suspension of standard accounting practices, or even a suspension of suspenders if need be, and an excuse to resurrect old carbon tax arguments, and de facto re-notice Biden (why not also Obama is a mystery), and remember that our tantamount major concern is the poor. But that wasn't my drift.

Sure, but don't you deliver my food, wine and toys by burning hydrocarbons? If I can't afford those you might be out of work and driving a buggy for your personal transport. I think fuel will stay in an affordability range as we transition to electric vehicles. We will just need to make sure it is sufficiently and progressively subsidized along the way. Step one to swallowing that bitter drink, I think, is pulling the curtain back on all of the ways we currently subsidize oil and oil products production so we know what we're paying for. As an example, how many Americans do you think understand the depletion allowance?

The trick is to come up with something to sell. Maybe the separatist regions get circled with a sharpie and called a demilitarized zone and the population gets to take a UN supervised vote on statehood. If they vote to be a part of Russia, which seems likely, the EU might then fund the repatriations to Ukraine. New promises to be broken and lie filled proclamations are made and everyone pitches in on the clean up paid for by buying Russian gas and oil at a discount. The Canadians can turn the thumb screws on Putins squeeze a little tighter to get some inside support for the deal and the Germans can work with the Italians to free up his yacht so he has a place to hide for a while. Bada Bing!
-
Dang tootin', we just need to get skydivers motivated and we'll change the world!
-
Putin could have said any number of things in his speech that were specifically confrontational to NATO arms suppliers. He did not. It was weak which he must know. In poker terms it seemed to me a call. No aircraft fly over, no real bluster. Maybe, just maybe, he's beginning to listen to wiser counsel.

Bingo. You should work for NASA. Americans don't effect change so much as they accept change, especially forced change. Of course, the best change is change that others need to deal with, others who can't buy their way out of disagreeable change. I guess I shouldn't give a crap but I do; I do because I fear what this nation will look like in 10 years.

Sure, absolutely. But I use mine on a boat.
