The value of your current crypto holdings is your money; if it goes to zero you will have lost your money. That's reality.

Discrimination against visual learners! There should be a law!

An AI algorithm writes a paper about itself. Cool, scary, or both?
JoeWeber replied to kallend's topic in Speakers Corner
Did you mean a humor emoticon? Don't need them, thank you. I'm not sure why you came to me for enlightenment on the topic, I barely know an algorithm from the rhythm method, unless you're one these guy's who writes a swell reply and then looks around for a place to post it. -
But was it involuntary? That's the problem with history, it's so long ago that memories can't be trusted. For all we know they wanted to come and still owe us for the boat ride.

I just feel terrible for all of the people who will still be alive. What a tragedy. -
Oh, he doesn’t mean that anymore than anything else. He’s simply following the R playbook and prepping himself for regretfully supporting Jim Jordon this year and Trump again in 2024.

Not going to work. Rule #1 of coercion is don't bluff. Right now, that's all they have.

Yes. Unfortunately skydiving is like candy bars: no one has a clue how much crap they're actually buying.

What was stupid was, and is, the right wing refusal to recognize the enormous benefits of some form of basic national healthcare. You'd be better calling it McConnell Care: it was your peeps that made any more sensible plan, including Medicare for all, an impossibility. So we got the ACA, well, thank you very much.

Sorry to be the one to break bad news but most folks are on the teetering edge of some form of larceny most of the time. For some it's the tiniest thing that causes mental anguish like the guy who told me he used the same coupon twice at the Safeway self checkout. Poor bastard probably got therapy. Others only pretend to put money in the poor box, others go bankrupt every 7 years, or don't pay back loans to family, and others try to negotiate down contracts signed in good faith. Not everyone needs to completely impoverish their fellows to feel good about themselves, but they are all around and watching you all of the time.........

Well, you're here in the nick of time. Assuming you are the lawyer, and not another last minute sock puppet, please enlighten us with what 61 judges could not.

airdvr, let me try again. It's not about "abortion" per se as some abstract stand alone issue but about the real suffering that the ruling will cause for a lot of innocent people. Not just the women, although their interests should be paramount, but the impregnator, their families and on and on and on. What you guy's don't seem to get is that the welfare of people we don't know is important to us because we know that the benefits of organized society depends on suppressing the reptilian part of our brains and looking out for each other. If it's not your hearts desire to see organized society disintegrate then step back and look at the actual effects of Republican policies, not the FOX News drivel, in America and ask your self which party is more likely to help folks and continue our fragile experiment in government by the people.
-
In the words of Ronald Reagan, "There you go again." We aren't concerned about the definition of a women, that's just another puerile Republican canard. We don't give two hoots, we simply think people should be happy living the one real life we have not the pretend one to come which drives right wing legal thinking. And, yes, we often do turn off our base. That's just the way it works when your base has more thinking individuals than obedient drones.

He’s not. Ginni is.

I'll concede that I'm often full of it but you never are, not that you need someone often full of it defending your honor. In this case, given the absolute truth about the horrifying downstream, and soon to be made much worse, effects of this latest act of Supreme Court cruelty I think anyone opining that it's not such a bad thing really ought to have their facts in basic assemblage. For other topics, like which came first string theory or vibrators I'll be more forgiving.

Seriously? You have strong opinions on the matter and you are that uninformed? You really should consider finding a different game to play.

Mitch McConnell? Ted Cruz? Did I win? What's my prize?

I think this is less true of Liberals. I mentioned previously on these pages, most recently with BillEisele I believe, that many people who believe they are the sole authors of their worldview are really just products of their neighborhood barbecue's and fishing trips. To your credit, at least you make the admission.

Let me guess, you were hoping she would nail Bill Clinton. So now that she hasn't what's your best guess as to why? A love of orange accents? No actionable evidence?

I just love the image of some guy asking if you had a condom.

Barry. Even now you can't bring yourself to write President Obama or just Obama. Transparency is a difficult thing to see, it seems. There is no similarity. Republicans fought Obama every step of the way and gave Trump every unqualified, lying, hack (think the mask judge) he nominated all to achieve a judicial end not societal justice. Republicans aren't to blame for all of the ills of the country, that's just a deflection on your part. But we are blaming them for the wholesale destruction of individual rights, the misguided concentration of immeasurable wealth in the hands of a few while kids in barrios can't afford food for school lunch much less eye operations, for stupidly and carelessly steering our nation towards a theocratic autocracy and away from a democracy that from inception was fragile and always relied on the trust and fidelity of honest brokers. That we are claiming.

Classic conservative so what-ism: it's not you and the affected parties will sort it out somehow. Are you that out of touch so as not to realize, or just plain know, that conservatives are trying to make the two pills or travel to safe haven states illegal? Do you not realize that many soon to be mothers can't afford to travel? What about US soldiers, who happen to be among the 15% who are female, assigned to bases in states where abortion is illegal now and who have commanders who refuse to help? This: "As far as voting conservative; I'm a product of my belief system and my upbringing. I won't apologize for that." is nothing short of a complete denial of responsibility for your politics. That was the point, not Hitler. So what if you won't apologize for the votes your upbringing forced you to make, but were probably far from against your will, instead maybe be thankful that a lot of liberals were able to shake off the yoke of their conservative upbringing and make it possible for you to not have a 47 year old illegitimate kid. The world around you isn't the world you think it is. That's a fact.

You can lay one perjuring, conservative, Justice at her feet. Any member of any group, including the Taliban, the KKK, or the worshipers of the Hindu God Hanuman could say the same. The bottom line is that conservative voters gave us what we have today and it didn't happen overnight or at one local, state or federal election.
-
Well, yes, that's the sad reality. But so will the French, Germans and any other NATO country citizens whose nation produces modern weapons of war.
-
I’m curious if you think that any of the conservative votes you’ve made helped to fertilize the tree that bore this fruit.
