  1. I have been watching or listening to them all and I am properly pissed off. I am properly pissed off that we're 18 months since an obvious coup attempt by a sitting US President and all we've done is put some hot headed morons in the can. There is no obvious indication that the DOJ will do anything beyond deploring the whole sorry mess. The hearings are great but are being ignored by most people, even smart ones like you. It's time to do something even if it's wrong.
  2. Right. Too bad the US Government can't simply tell her it's her own fault and maybe she should have tried for a Gold Medal in common sense, instead.
  3. I have to agree. My average isn't too far above today's quote but the reality is that I didn't have the trend well understood so now I am holding when the intention was to trade around it.
  4. Thanks. I didn’t notice. Bad timing on my part.
  5. He was highly leveraged without sufficient assets. You know the drill, forced to walk away. His interest went to zip, not the remaining value in the land.
  6. Don't get me wrong, I thing Pete would be great. I just do not trust most voters.
  7. Come on, man, you could make the same point about a 1st grader's Guinea Pig. If she sells it in the 2nd grade for half again more she's not gouging she's just a kid selling a Guinea Pig for a profit. That's in no way similar to BillVon constraining the worldwide supply of guinea pigs to create an artificial shortage and raise wholesale prices. I wouldn't put it past him, who would, but it's not the same.
  8. It offers scant little hope to remember that those points have been offered up on these pages on what is nearly as regular a basis as the train schedule. And from what I can tell the points simply go in one ear, then straight out the other while, apparently, picking up considerable speed in the process. Bills a smart guy, so are others here, but even repetition has no impact. The conversation is continually dragged down with irrelevancies while the real conversation about how we finish the job of finishing Trumpism while we still have some semblance of a democracy limping along goes unaddressed.
  9. Please flesh out the list of Reps making any sort of tangible effort to keep Trump away, I count two.
  10. Tôi nói một chút tiếng việt I speak and write some Vietnamese. It's been too long to be able to understand it spoken.
  11. I'm glad you brought up those salient points because it's never too soon to read a well reasoned and carefully considered political opinion and say OK, thanks. 2024 will be another Not Trump (or not Trump facsimile) 2.0. We need to be willing to vote for whomever leads us away from this current right wing horror show. Unless, that is, you're a fan of such an outcome.
  12. Surely it's just a misunderstanding amongst friends. Today my Jet-A delivery came in 4% less per gallon than two weeks ago. What was interesting was the driver told me that their delivered price for gasoline was consistently 10-15¢ less per gallon than the stations, except lately. Lately it's consistently 70-75¢ less. That's a big chunk of a 5 buck gallon, bastards.
  13. Pete is a top choice in a rational world. However this election, and maybe more to follow, we need to leave what is right behind and take what will work. The LGBTQ community is not well loved in many communities of color, which is baffling but there it is. That and I fear many christian women will recoil once in the voting booth. A centrist, straight white male ticket seems to me the best shot. Does that suck, or what?
  14. I also love that he's sticking it to big Pharma over insulin. He survived a recall so he's not universally hated, I guess.
  15. Agreed. We need an orator with charisma. Gavin Newsom, maybe? Who else, #1 or #2?
  16. You'd be better off trying to explain why underwear don't have pockets.
  17. That's fine. I see not only zero value but a great deal of harm. We don't need to be stoking paranoiac fears of impending doom and societal collapse; fears and predictions that are regurgitated and trumpeted again and again and yet again and again never occur. I say go with the evidence and enjoy what time on the planet you have.
  18. Not to worry, Bill, you are irreplaceable.
  19. Alrighty, then, so the apocalyptic second coming is not a cause for gleeful anticipation in certain circles and a network of SHTF armed and stocked redoubts is just a way of providing a bit of needed security for retired RVer's. Got it.
  20. An excellent and learned rebuke. Well done, again, as ever. But what do you pray for? Ron to have an epiphany? That's probably not on offer, I'm sure you'll agree. Are you hoping to get through to him? If so, you'll need to apply a more visceral tone I'm afraid. That is, in fact, just the sort of tone that is problematic here. Eschew it, moderate it, be above it in the most Winsorlike fashion possible, but the reality is that sometimes we really are just talking to the wall. In the end the scorpions we befriend, or attempt to understand, will sting us out of self interest. Just the way it is.
  21. That's it exactly. We voters are living on borrowed time, at least we have that in common with our President.
  22. Of course the base is blowing it, we suck on our good day's. I do believe I'm on record extolling his foreign policy and foreign relations virtues. Also, I think I might have mentioned in passing what a bunch of treasonous assholes are too many of our Republican Senators and Congress bastards, too. Certainly, I could have expounded further on the several lying, perjuring, back stabbing, self serving whack jobs, none of whom has the minimal integrity of a USPA Director, that we've installed for life on the highest Court in the land. And yes, Democrats did this to ourselves in the last election. So yes, Biden walked into a shit show. But he knew it upfront and took the job. Now he needs to use the bully pulpit to energize anyone open to being energized. I have to say, and I don't like saying it, his absence reminds me of Trumps absence in France at the honoring of WWI war dead. I am convinced he was concerned about his hair. I am fearful that Biden is concerned about appearing old.
  23. In the meantime conservatives could help by not eating cantaloupes or getting their homes re-roofed to help ease the pressure for more migrant labor.
  24. How about not living the one life you can be certain you have in gleeful anticipation of an apocalypse or reasonable facsimile thereof? You or Ron, in fact no one, has any track record or factual standard to believe what you apparently believe. No matter, waste your one life if it pleases you so much. While you are assembling your network of cave habitats in fear of unfounded concerns, I'll be traveling the world, seeing new things, meeting new people and just trying to enjoy my life. You're still alive, man, it's not too late to shake off what limits you.
