Let me guess, you personally know one or two?

Sort of. They don't need a tourist visa if they aren't traveling for work. So, showing up to visit the parks can get cancelled out upon immediate admission that you are really hoping to work. Apparently simply applying on arrival for a work visa can do that. Absurd is that it can be immediately criminalized. Literally, if Mom sends you an email received in flight that there is great opportunity on offer and you attempt to get an on arrival work visa you can be busted. Instead you are supposed to leave asap with your secret intact and apply anew from somewhere else. Seems to me that in a humane and sensible country the apparatchik at the work visa desk should simply say no can do and now you must leave within a very short window or risk arrest.

One poor sap with a sign, probably, but thousands in the streets with spokespeople on the tube and net? I think it wouldn't happen.

The puerile and denigrating name calling must top the list. Now it's Maggot Hagerman. He's the President of the United States of America and his skin is so thin that he needs to name call like a 5 year old. We are an embarrassment internationally and that is too sad to digest some days.

As others have said it is most certainly intentionally punitive. The bastards sincerely believe that to get the results they want in the time frame they desire that innocent people need to get hurt so that the word gets out, and it's working. No damn way in the world should any reasonable person offer an assist to this utter affront to who we should be as a nation by pointing out undotted I's and uncrossed T's as a reasonable explanations. You know, keeping things in perspective and so on. We are failing ourselves thanks to ourselves.

Please enlighten me.

Have you ever been pulled over in a shit hole town by a dickhead cop? I sometimes think we need to subtract about 20 years of actual life's experience from your resume.

I screwed up and landed with a few strawberries in Sydney once and got a finger wag if I promised to be good in the future. Once leaving Sydney for the US on United they tried to tell us that according to FAA rules we couldn't carry on our rigs. Not so, of course. So I told them that no way we were checking $10,000 parachutes and held firm. We were upper deck, biz class on a 747 which helped when the Captain intervened and agreed they could come on board to be stored in the pursers locker. Not long into the flight a couple of stews came by politely asking if they could see the $10,000 dollar pair of shoes.

A lot, as you know. I could as easily ask how many entries you’ve just skated through without a question because you landed in a grey airplane wearing a green suit. I can tell you that I’ve been in and out of Canada a lot all trouble free and the same several times in Australia and Europe and Scandinavia with never a fear. Add to that many, many times in Asia and all of SE Asia and never a fear. It’s not the rules but the rulers and that you should know.

All he does is pee in the pool; it shouldn't be tolerated.

And you are trivializing a horrendous shift away from fairness and a respect for individual rights that made the US a different and special place. But hey, we aren't Syria yet so there is that. I'm a white male with Global Entry etc. and I have traveled to the US many times, of course, and I am a bit concerned about going back and through a for profit detention system. None of this is even a little bit right or justifiable on any level and that should be every right thinking persons position.

Damn the shit available these days crosses the line. It used to be we'd need to fetch mushrooms out of cow patties to get to your side of reality. Anyway it's oars, rudders, and sextants. Please note: illiteracy and ignorance are not virtues, they are embarrassments to all except the illiterate and ignorant. It's just too bad that what you offer here isn't seen as equal to trolling.

He's just stoned, as usual.

Me neither and I’ve tried recording it and playing it backwards but no joy. BillVon seems bound to engage him so I’m guessing he gets paid a little each time and that keeps the forum going.
-
True but if I can confuse some well meaning sort to where they’re willing to stand on the corner with a sign saying “He’ll no, I already went!”, where’s the harm?
-
True dat.
-
Agreed, absolutely.

How anyone could have confidence in the Democrats do so even one smart thing is now a mystery. I won’t be surprised if they nominate AOC. Optics can be bad, true, but demonstrations aren’t a guaranteed loser.
-
You be nice to Keith, ain't his fault he's all fucked up!
-
I have. All talk, seems to me: asking for money, lobbying etc. If I thought 10,000 Skydivers throwing a hissy fit would capture Americas attention I'd be in but it wouldn't. On the other hand 10,000 uniformed retired US soldiers decrying the pulverization of our Constitution in the public square would be news and get interviews and just might inspire some politicians.
-
Misplaced sarcasm with a dollop of misdirection I thought. Maybe I’m out of line and just plain wrong but I think an uprising by our vets could make a difference. Marches, gatherings, interviews on the news etc. might have a positive effect. The real problem, I think, is that too many aren’t convinced that things are going in the wrong direction.
-
So you agreed with the protesters motives and actions? Seriously what do you believe? Is it that as odious as things are and as much harm to innocents as is happening all in all good things are happening that wouldn’t otherwise so let’s just wait and see?
-
Stand not for me but for the democracy and constitution you swore an oath to protect. The idea of moving to Australia was decades ago but the idea is certainly being reborn today, just not Oz this go. Think of it like a protest vote.
-
We liked Yallingup above every other place in Oz we looked at for emigration. I’ll guess prices are higher now.

Because you have heirs that will be affected and hope springs eternal. World events happen at speeds that are often too fast or too slow for most to perceive. Here we have bits of both. Simply there is no reason to think things will get better anytime soon. Just be rational and think about what will happen when he ignores a Supreme Court decision. We really don’t have options except our military. And that , sport fans, is why I keep hammering BIGUN: thank you for your service but now please stand up or say that you agree with this erosion of our democracy or are willing to put your service in defense of America.
