Actually, Chuck....I do have some questions that have been puzzling me, and since you've admitted your age, maybe you can help? 1. Was Jesus really a cool guy, or did he do it all for the ladies? 2. The wheel. Good idea or harbinger of doom? 3. Was the T-Rex really that fierce? I mean, c'mon, with those stumpy lil' arms? 4. Cave art....bold expression of ideas or just a shopping list? 5. How did people keep warm back in the ice age? Wooly Mammoth skin parkas? 6. Fire....who really invented it?! 7. Admit it, Napoleon was compensating for his size, wasn't he? 8. Was Stonehenge nothing more than a drunk druid joke? 9. So, spill....just how good was Nefertiti? 10. How long did it really take for the planet to cool? Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to go join the Witness Protection Program now. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

As someone who has travelled to europe quite extensively, I'd have to give that one up to Sweden, followed closely by Holland for the most beautiful women. But TX girls are definitely easy on the eyes, just shrill on the atitude. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Okay, yeah, it's official. My jealousy is total now. That must have been an incredible experience and I'd give a limb to have been able to attend. So far, the coolest "band moment" I've had was chatting with this dude at a friend's party about 7 or 8 years back.... We must have spent about 30 minutes together during our attempt to crack each other up and discussing why trendy sucks so much before I sobered up a bit and realized it was Henry Rollins. One of the smartest and funniest mofo's I have ever had the pleasure of getting to hang with.

Dude....I didn't even have to google that one. I ran to the fridge and pulled out an egg. Egg Man. I was down with the Beasties back when they were still a punk band. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I've taken my iPod along on cross-country jumps and full-alt hop-n-pops and it does make things fun. But for freefall or BirdMan? No thanks. I have too many other things going on to enjoy than be distracted by some muffled sound.

Dammit, dammit, dammit! My reserve is out of date....Otherwise, what a perfect excuse to visit SSM. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Any word on hotel discounts yet? Which hotels are the closest, besides the Brazos Inn? I've read that place has gone downhill a bit since the last time I was there... Thanks! Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

hard to reach skydive u in deland
Kris replied to Terminal-V's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Deland got positively hammered by the hurricane. No surprise that they aren't answering. Give them some time to get things back to normal in that area. -
BECKY!!! *tackle hug* I'm well hon! Hope everything is good with you. Drop me a PM sometime and we'll catch up.

Yup, it looks like the other site is simply a mirror so that great work of photography isn't lost. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

No offense, but that one's a little too new to market for me. I'm also interested in seeing how the flight characteristics hold up after several hundred jumps since it has F-111. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Ivan's idea has merit. Compusa sells a converter that will let you plug that laptop drive into a regular IDE connection. If that drive has NTFS on it, the computer you plug it into will have to be running Win2K, XP, 2003 Server, or Linux with the NTFS driver. Most places won't repair drives. They're considered disposables these days, with the exception of the fastest SCSI drives (Cheetah, Atlas, etc...) That's why I prefer to use Drive Savers....no charge unless you want your data back. They even tell you what they were able to find beforehand. I've seen recoveries top $10K though, depending on the damage and the amount of data recovered. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Doubtful...look in your system CMOS on startup and see if it gives you the option for USB or Firewire as a boot device. If it doesn't then you can't. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

It's a laptop, swapping drives is a bit difficult to do. In your case, you may be hosed. If you can get your hands on a Win2K install disk you can try running a repair on it. From the chattering of the drive, it does sound bad. I'm an ex-Seagate storage engineer monkey, so I'm pretty familiar with drives. One last-ditch thing you can try is to pull the drive from the laptop and throw it in the freezer for about 45mins and try it again. You may get it running long enough to backup important things... In the future, backup anything you want to keep. Good luck. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Damn....I've only got 2GB of RAM and a measely 1.2TB of storage on my box, Godzilla. Looks like it's time to upgrade. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

IS AIRCRAFT & JUMP PILOT INSURED FOR SKYDIVING?
Kris replied to foreverfree's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Flight time is compensation. The pilot needs to have a commercial ticket and it's asinine to run that plane without insurance. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™ -
What Phree said. Otherwise, you can PM me about it as I'll be there. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
