  1. Definitely use a new box. I recommend you use 3M packaging tape, it seems to hold the best, and some sort of packing material wouldn't hurt. As far as who to ship through, they all have a tendency to damage packages. The Postal Service uses the same planes as Fed-Ex for Priority and Express Mail. I don't think there is much of a price difference between Fed-Ex and the USPS. I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!
  2. My A-license check dive in March. I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!
  3. I was doing a 2-way today, when my buddy had a brake line break. I could tell he was fine and watch him make it back to the DZ, so I followed his main(lost sight of freebag). We have plenty of outs where I jump at, which is one good thing about Oklahoma. I landed a little over a half a mile off, and before I was on the ground one of the staff members was in their car heading out to get me. If i was at a new DZ, I more than likely would have landed back at the DZ and watched for where his gear landed. The main reasoning behind why I did this is out of respect for the other jumper, who is the guy who got me into this sport, and I felt comfortable landing off with the conditions. I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!
  4. Hey everyone, thanks for the congrats. I plan on jumping as often as I can. I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!
  5. It took 8 months, but I got my A-license yesterday. I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!
  6. when i talked to nancy at jumpshack a couple of weeks ago. she said a complete rig is averaging 3-4 weeks. I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!
  7. did you buy it new or used? I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!
  8. I made my first dozen jumps at OSC, and I can say that we had fit 5 jumpers in that plane a couple of times. It was cramped, buy possible. Normally the first student out sat at the front of the plane next to the door, the JM was behind him and the rest of the students in the back. With that seating I can understand why the JM would go out first to allow the room for the others to get out. I also know that emergency exits and emergency procedures were drilled into our heads continuously during my first jump course. Mike is anal about student safety, he chewed quite a few experienced jumpers butts for coming to close to his students on a couple of occasions that I know of. He even chewed mine once. I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!
  9. I had a similar problem. I started jumping at one DZ and transferred to one that is closer to home. I had never even heard of the A license progression card until I got to the second DZ. I was in category C at that time. My instructer made the decision to go back through my log-book and use the entrys in it to check off the stuff that needed to be signed off on. I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!
  10. If you wear glasses you might also check out the Bonehead Havok, it's entire front flips open. I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!
