So now one of the design elements for new schools is escapability from those that delight in murdering children. That's a good thing, imho. It doesn't restrict children in any way. Is a DZ.COM celebrity the same as a popular celebrety? not necessarily the same, but one is a subset of the other. Remember learning about that in grade school? My child's learning it now. Well, they'll argue incessantly with you just the same as here. But there, there's only emotional turmoil behind their vehemence. That doesn't move me. A little turmoil along with a well-conceived thought moves me more. In my travels to the bonfire I learned that some of them are capable of interacting on more of a pertinent and factual, rather than purely emotional, basis. Geez! Chill Pill for everyone!!!! I talked to my vet, and she's not concerned. Doin' the right thing. Imagine that. But then my vet knows me and that I'm not a dumb-ass. Y'all don't know me, so I guess all this hullabaloo is to be expected. Sure lead poisoning could be something to be concerned about if there were any lead inside my dog. Well, given that I AM the doctor, I'd probably take care of my child myself.... :) I've looked at it closely, cleaned it up. There's no pellet in there. I wondered about that too. I'm not going to take her to the vet for this. The wound is fine, and there's no pellet embedded in her skin. I do know a little bit about how to take care of things like that. I'm just a little bothered about the thought that we may be being retaliated against. I think my dog may have been shot with a pellet gun. But I'm not sure. Of course this is on the heels of two boys being arrested after one of them shot a pellet gun at my son and his friend. But what would a pellet do to my dog? She has an area that's less than 1" where she's raw, and right in the middle a little bitty round hole....about the size of a pellet, a little raised around the borders. It seems odd that she'd be missing hair around the place a pellet hit her though.... I don't know. Maybe I immediately thought she'd been shot with a pellet gun b/c of that incident with the boys. What exactly does that mean? Spell it out. Well, I think we often react with knee-jerk responses to things that frighten us. I want my child's school to be a safe place for him, but I also want him to spend those hours in an environment that is relaxed. I think that over-policing people is not healthy. I think that living in a place that's not safe is also not healthy. I think we've been leaning toward the over-policing end of the spectrum lately.
