Finally, something Clay and I agree on. Justin My Homepage
-
That may be, Clay, but I have news for you, and I'll phrase it simply and in southern style for clarity: Y'all lost. Justin My Homepage

Hi. Eventually, I'll be getting an audible altimeter. I've heard a lot of good things about ProTracks. That is probably what I'll buy. My questions are actually about the JumpTrack software you can buy and use in conjunction with the ProTrack. Does anyone out there use the interface unit and software? If so, how well does it work? Can you get graphs of descent rate vs. time, or altitude vs. time and things like that? I'm wondering if the interface and software work well and whether they are worth the additional cost over the ProTrack itself. Granted, I'm a geek and like those types of things, but I'd like to know other people's opinions. Thanks! Justin My Homepage

Flowerpots?

They are so hard to move when they are on cinderblocks anyway.... or was that the house? Nevermind. Probably the same thing. Justin My Homepage

Wingnut, this is just southern flirting. It isn't serious until someone fires a shotgun at a pickup truck. Justin My Homepage

Clay, here is the picture of what you'd be most interested in. What's your bid? Justin My Homepage
-
Nah. I'd only get your money, then nobody else would bid. Justin My Homepage

Hey Folks. I was just in Slappie's chatroom talking with Omri. We were lamenting the fact that he is over there and most of us (and tons of DZs) are in the US. So an idea was born..... The Get Omri to America Foundation Omri needs money for a plane ticket from Israel, so we are taking bookings in advance for the following items: * Personal parachute packer (rates by the day) * Freefly lessons (by the jump) * He-Ho services (also by the jump) When Omri gets to America, he'll need to support himself, so we have the following additional items once he is here: * DZ gopher/lawn mower/beer bit.. (payable in jump tix) * Live-in cook (payable in cash or food) * Chauffer (you have to get to the DZ, so you can go in style) * Did I mention Omri's He-Ho services? * Or you can be traditional and bid for dates with him. He is nice. Your mother would approve. All you nice DZ.com ladies, now is your chance! You could be the first (beer) one to bid on this young impressionable bachelor. He'll be around for awhile, but innosense goes early, so bid early and go big! And guys, non-ho services are available, so there is something for you too. Live in luxury, with your parachute packed all day long and your cold beer delivered all night. Let's see the orders come rolling in! It is for a good cause. Skreamer, I've heard Pyke is available. Justin My Homepage
-
Yeah, what Skreamer said! I'm a very visual learner.
-
Pyke, I won't go there... but someone might, considering the prevailing jokes going around. Justin My Homepage

Since I haven't had Lasik, I'll only respond to part of your post. Don't. Last time I checked, you didn't need a doctor's permission to skydive. By all means, talk to your doctor, get all the advice you want, then do what you want to do. It is your body, not theirs, so do as you please. Just make an informed decision. Just my $.02. Clay, you of all people should know better than to give a straight line like that to people on these boards. I can only imagine all the farm/swamp/back-of-pickup-truck responses you'll get.

Sure. Don't stock the swoop pond with piranha. Justin My Homepage

I haven't tried CReW, and probably won't for awhile. I can barely fly my own canopy right, much less do it with anyone else. But I was wondering, is there any recommendation on when it is reasonable to try CReW. I know I'd need to get some training and use a different canopy. What sorts of requirements are there to give it a shot? Justin My Homepage

I was just at a DZ that had music in the plane. The guy in the back kneeled, pointed to three people as group leaders and started doing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" in rounds. It didn't last long, but it was pretty damned funny. That was followed by "You are My Sunshine". I'd try it at my home DZ, but I can't carry a tune or sing for shit. As for music in freefall, I wouldn't bother. I wouldn't be able to hear it well, and there is enough to focus on already. Justin My Homepage

Hey Viking, Before the end of your jump, I recommend you practice pulling at least once. On the serious side, one thing you can start on is your tracking. It is a skill you will definitely need once you start doing RW, and just for general safety. You can work on it by picking a point on the horizon (or far away) and tracking towards it for a few seconds. Return to a stable position, do a 180 turn, and track again. In your particular case, I think working on a less Gumby-ish body position would be a good idea as well. Feel free to disregard this, as you'll probably have more jumps and experience than me shortly. I wish I could jump even every two weeks. Justin My Homepage
-
Sure! Why the hell not? I have like 500 posts before I have to worry about it. Sounds like a great idea! Zennie, Pammi or Freaksis, one of you is up! Justin My Homepage
-
Kevin, if you go for that, you're a sucker. Tell Skreamer that he needs to grab the crutches and you'll grab Pammi. Justin My Homepage

I actually might have to agree with Slappie today. Tuesday won't come fast enough for me. Let me go over my plan for the weekend: Go do whuffo wedding stuff out of town and look at blue skies while stuck in a suit and tie. Next week: At least be back at work surfing DZ.com and that much closer to a weekend where I can jump. Justin My Homepage
-
Travel to out-of-town whuffo wedding with wife. No jumping. Justin My Homepage
-
So far, the votes are tied as follows: Zennie, Screamer, any preference?
-
Sounds impossible, but it is a damned fine dream.....
-
I hear ya, Kevin! I got to the end and asked, "AND? Where is the rest of it?" So of course, I finished the story with a very happy ending in my head. Justin My Homepage
