Yeah see thats what I am contemplating. I am going to be jumping used cypres, main, and reserve no matter what...so why not spend the extra $300 or so dollars and buy a new container that fits me properly? Yeah......see I have always been told go used for the first gear, but I looked at the prices and I could have a container made for me and used everything for about $200-$400 more. So the new gear yes is a bit cheaper, but the new/used gear would be more suited towards my physical features. I am thinking the $300 or so more dollars is worth it........but I dont....just curious what you all thought.. Thanks for the info man! Ok i was just watching auto week on speedvision and they mentioned how the new VW Taureg has a suspension leveling system that they call the "skyhook".........Dont Vector III rigs have that and it is trade marked? Ok yeah they are different devises but I thought the name skyhook would be trade marked also? Sorry if this is dumb...... The story I think you might be refering to is a kid who joined the military, went to Iraq and then came home on leave. When he was home on leave he decided he didnt want to go back so he went AWOL. He then turned himself in at Hanscom AF base in Bedford Mass saying he did want to go back because now he oppossed the war. This person is not a US citizen....he served 6 months which is what I believe you have to serve while deployed in order to become a US citizen. He also said he is not a criminal........he is right.....he is a deserter and a coward. Personally they should not put him back in....his lake of motivation could kill hard working, loyal soldiers over there. I think they should revoke his, and his families US stay and send them back to whatever country they came from. When I was young I wanted to join the Military. I wanted to join since I was in 3rd grade. High school rolled around and it came time to decide. I did all my research and join the Air Force SOC for Combat Controller. I did the training and shattered my wrist into 1800 millinion pieces. In order to hold me together they put a lot of metal in my body and in the end I exceeded the Gov't Limit. I got a medical and that was a day that I hated. I wish I could be in the military and serve. I never thought about doing it for school, or the benefits. I wanted to serve because I wanted too. As for these people who are in the service and dont want to be in Iraq. Ok I can show compasion, because it has to be tough, but dont join unless you can accept the risk. Dont be a fireman if you cant handle the thought you will see blood........same for the military. Joe

When I was in 5th grade Desert Storm broke out and I was 10. I wrote a letter, and sent a bunch of Christmas stuff to any soldier in Iraq. The gentleman who got it was a Major in the Rangers. His last name was my last name except the Spanish version. He sent me photos of the christmas tree and all the candy I sent. At the end of the conflict he drove from SC where he lived to Boston to come and see me for the weekend. He went to my little league ball game and my family showed him around the city. He soon was married and I was in his wedding, and since then we have always been in contact. I have met his whole family, his wife and children have stayed with me and I have stayed with them. He is an incredible person and a great friend. Just to let ya know I am 185-190 out the door.....as in with all the gear on. I am a skinny dude. Thats what I figured about it....would it be worth it to buy the rig anyways and sell the main and use that money to buy something like a SILHOUETTE 210? That is of course the container will hold it. OK I know there are some dependant stuff on what someones wing loading should be. But I am looking for general thouhts.....I am buying my first rig and out the door weight I am 185-190...depends on what I ate for lunch. I have jumped from a 210-230 on my student rigs, and this will be my first rig. The set up I like is used and my only concern is that it comes with a Batwing 170.....I think that it might be to small for me. But on the other hand I have talked with people who said that loading of 1.07:1 was not a lot. I have been trying to find out info on the main canopy but I cant find anything on their flight charactoristics. Any help, or advice would be greatly appreciated. The other thing I am thinking is buying the set up and putting in a bit bigger main.....190+ and saving the 170 for when I downsize down the road. Thoughts on that? I am new to the sport and going to be buying my first rig here soon. I personally love the Wings. I have never heard anything bad about them except maybe that they are hard to pack a reserve? If the quality is good and they stand behind their product a little inconvience for the packing a reserve is a mute point. The Mirage is a sweet system. I have considered getting one, but I cant afford one. Plus people seem, to view them as the pretty rig???? They seem great to me, but I aint no pretty boy. I dont think there are persay any "bad" rigs out there today, but there are obviously higher quality rigs. I have seen them all and the Wings seems pretty top notch to me.
