What Dropzones in the USA are NOT affiliated with the USPA.
noname replied to Amazon's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I would love to be there when someone tells Bill that they bought a USPA membership for his DZ. For some reason I dont think that would fly with bill. I think Bill would see the humor in that. But do get video if anyone is going to tell him. -
How to choose a DZ for AFF program in CA?

Oh yeah huh. I forgot about the static line going away. -

Oh and ignore all the stupid political crap about one dropzone being "safer". You just jumped out of a freaking plane, do you really think it makes a difference whose plane it was? Its your training and your decisions that get you to the ground safely. The quality of training at Lodi is great, I learned there! -
How to choose a DZ for AFF program in CA?
noname replied to cancina's topic in Introductions and Greets
If you are truly serious about jumping, go to Lodi, spend $100 on a tandem, then $500 for static line and then start jumping. Come prepared to jump. -
Yes, and some of us Lodi women are over 30

Congrats to all and well done!!

I'm sure it is working fine. Bigger is not always better. Lodi is at sea level and we have power lines and a freeway behind us when we land. We need canopies we can fly, not canopies that fly us. I'm about 160 lbs out the door. When I jumped a Tri 160 I was getting pushed around the sky. I started flying a Tri 135 before I had 100 jumps and flew and landed it much better. -
I've jumped with Walt recently at Lodi. He ROCKS!

Lodi has room for the tent, hot showers and $15 jumps every day. ($13 if you buy in a block of 50) Don't miss Lodi! Also, if Eloy is on your way to CA then visit them too! Another great DZ ;)

I'm there most Saturdays, very few Sundays.

Is it that bad up there? It seems like a hell of a good deal on jump tickets! I don't know who peed in this guy's cheerios when he was at Lodi. I've been jumping at Lodi 3+ years and I'm loving every minute.

I'm married to one, PM me for contact info.

Oh Lodi the HORROR! I'm a Lodi girl .... most weekends I find plenty of RW jumpers to play with all day. I would jump with you but I have "relative work" that day. Just ask at manifest and they can introduce you to the right group. Have Fun!

You'll be here for CRW right? You will love it! I'm not jumping CRW but I hang with all those guys ... we will have a blast! Landing area is a nice green, with lots of alternate field around it. Avoid grape stakes and power lines! The CRW guys spot right on most of the time and when they don't they know lots of good outs on the way back to the DZ and we'll send a bunch of cars out to get you. We have a nice lawn, very basic shower and bathrooms, indoor packing. Twin Otter and Beech 99 ... but I think addl aircraft will come in for the CRW event. We'll help everyone find local places to eat and all that. Let me know if I can answer anything the organziers can't answer for you ;) Mara

I'm in the middle of this project right now. We took the cabinets down, cleaned with soapy water and then used a good, oil based primer. We lightly sanded primer mistakes then used two coats of paint and it's working out great. Be careful with the primer ... it starts to dry very quickly and any runs will dry up fast!

Tracking Contest was cancelled due to high winds all weekend. Rescheduled for Saturday May 12! Cash prizes for wingsuits, intermediate and advanced plus intermediate winner can give Craig a haircut ;)
-
Yes, whatever you want to donate will be fine for the wingsuit guys What were you planning to do if a wingsuit girl wins it?
-
Go static line and save the $500 you didn't spend on AFF. You will need it for jump tickets and gear.
-
I jump at Lodi and I love it! I don't have very many jumps and I mostly do RW and have had no problem finding helpful and fun people to jump with. If you don't know anyone just ask Bill or Kathy and they will introduce you to some jumpers.

Hi, You will pay for all your jump course up front. Once you graduate you will be buying each jump individually. Each jump ticket is $15. You can buy tickets for $15 each, but if you buy a block of 50 tickets for $650 then it works out to $13 per ticket. I jump almost every weekend so you will see me. Come say hi! Some of the staff are also instuctors. Talk to Bill about signing up for the student course. Get moving and get signed up, you can't learn to skydive on the internet
