Well, no skydiving stuff this year, but that was to be expected. All though my family knows I am completely gung-ho about it, I am still very new to the sport and they know even less than I do. I still had a wonderful Christmas, I just wish my oldest brother and his fiancee were able to make it home ::sigh::. I love being able to spend the holidays with my family, I wouldn't change them for the world (at least on my mom's side ::wink::). My mom got me this printer that I can hook my digital camera up to and it will print my pictures, no computer involved. I was so excited since I don't have a computer of my own and am completely computer illiterate and practically crashed my poor roommate's computer when I tried to download my pictures to his computer (this is the reason I don't have pictures of my own on the computer yet, just the one Alana posted of us). I also got socks (I love getting cool socks (one pair is really fuzzy!), a bizarre scarf, and a cookbook! (my mom knows me sooo well.) It was quite enjoyable. I have a perfectly good excuse. I am sitting at my roommate's computer (heehee, he already left to go home so I snuck on) dripping wet and in a towel because I just got out of the shower and waiting for my mom to call to let me know it is time to come over. We always celebrate Christmas morning with her but because my brother is such a late riser, she decided to go to my stepdad's parents' house for Christmas before we have our own. That is too funny!!! I went to my father's side of the family for Christmas last night. My father got me hot chocolate... The poor man doesn't know a thing about me. ;) But the cool thing was my uncles had made a request for me to bring my skydiving video's out. Everyone was so excited when watching them. I was asked a bazillion questions from people in my family who never even acknowledged my existance before. It was a hit. Now I have half of my family wanting to come out and see me skydive (and maybe partake in the activities themselves) next spring. I am getting ready to go to my mom's house right now. We always celebrate on Christmas morning with her. She makes a huge Christmas breakfast featuring her famous (and oh so delicious) breakfast roll. We all sit around the tree and open our presents in order one at a time so everyone can see what everyone got and make a big deal over it. Then we get our stockings and go to eat breakfast, filling ourselves to the brink so we have to be lazy and lay around all day. Ah... I love Christmas. That is so awesome! I just recently convinced my roommate to let me get one. The only problem is finding a breeder. I definitely don't plan on getting one from a pet store. I also want to be sure I am very well prepared before I get a pet that I have never dealt with before. It is scary how right you are. I followed each of the steps exactly as you have described so far! I am somewhere between stages 3 and 4 now. I don't bring skydiving up anymore, but when someone sees the pin around my neck and asks, they soon regret it. I just beam. But now I see how quickly I am losing friends... I am probably not the best person for advise on this, I've been known to have a drink or two... or seventeen a couple of times on the weekends... make that weekdays... make that every day, but in all seriousness, this is a real problem. I know I can handle my drinking, but sometimes I think even I need to slow down. My best friend used to have a major problem with drinking. In the end, she drove her truck into a brick house. I had tried everything I could think of to try to slow her down (at the time I barely drank at all) but it seemed like all I was doing was driving distance between us. I wish I would have known what to tell her instead of sounding like a nagging mother but all I can say is speak with your heart. Let your friend know of your concerns and ask them if there is anyway you can help (obviously something has driven them to drink).
