This is not an election.

The new sheriff will not be elected by the people. He will be appointed by the board of supervisors, who have indicated their willingness to take into account opinions from all over, and they are considering several out of state candidates.

Talk to your doctor. If your pain is strictly emotional, they can refer you to a professional who can help give you better coping mechanisms than you're currently using. However, sometimes emotional pain is a symptom of something physical, such as an imbalance in your brain chemistry, and there are lots of medications that can be prescribed to help correct that. Even though you may feel that there is no physical cause to your pain, please see your doctor to rule it out, because when your brain chemistry is screwed up, it is very difficult to tell the difference between a strictly emotional issue and an issue with a physical cause. I appreciate your input, and I did think about that before I posted. However, the politics and policies of one area can impact other areas of the state and country. Our counties are not islands, and the way things are done here in Orange County can help change the way things are done in the surrounding areas, so I don't feel this is a strictly local issue.

Orange County, CA is in a position where the board of supervisors will appoint our next sheriff. Our interim Sheriff, Jack Anderson, has been doing a phenomenal job fixing some of the problems in the department and he is the only candidate who supports continuing to arm responsible citizens who go through extensive training and background checks. The board of supervisors is closely watching the below poll to get a feeling of how people feel about the candidates, so please, if you have a moment, go vote for Interim Sheriff Jack Anderson. The light in my ten year old ford does that... if I dump in some fuel injection cleaner and use high octane gas for about two weeks, the light stays off for six months or so, and then turns back on.

That they are indeed - I got my Associates degree from a local community college. Now, if I want a Bachelors I have to go to a 4-year for the remaining 2 years...whether I like it or not. You can go back to a community college and re-take a few of the classes you did your worst in. If you go to the same school that you went to before, you can usually petition to have the lower grade removed from your transcript.

Insurance companies happened. They want to make a profit, so they get their costs back however they can, including suing your neighbors when your kid falls down and has to go to the doc. -
Why do you have kids? It usually gets them on a tangent about how great their kids are, and you never have to answer their question.

Did you call other student loan companies to see about a consolidation loan? While Sallie Mae may only offer you a variable rate, another company may offer you something better, and Sallie Mae can't stop you from re-financing.

Do NOT get a system where the siren, brain, and keypad are integrated. If you get one that is integrated with brain and keypad, or brain, siren, and keypad, all someone has to do is pull it off the wall, and no more alarm. If you put it somewhere non-obvious, they can follow the siren to the brain and disable it. My system has a keypad by the door, a siren up in the closet, and the brains are hidden away in somewhere very non-obvious, with a cellular back-up device in case the phone line fails.

I would really like our schools to accept that not everybody is cut out for college or wants to go to college straight out of high school. It would be wonderful to see high schools provide training in auto shop, office skills, and other fields that would allow students to leave high school with some marketable skills beyond just reading and writing.

And that is exactly why I will be voting republican in the next election. Democratic congress + republican executive = only the really important shit gets done and nobody runs amok with their own agenda.
