  1. most cross dressers are heterosexual.. I've seen figures as high as 90%.
  2. pretty much every major religion has fanatics who kill in the name of their god.
  3. deleted - I've been advised to delete this post... if you want the story, PM me.
  4. If you don't really need the money, donate it to a school where they can loan it out to a kid who can't afford an instrument. Otherwise, a lot of music stores deal in used instruments, many on a consignment basis... you leave the sax with them, they sell it for you at the best price they can, and take a 10% cut.
  5. not addressed to base, just a general comment I don't have a problem with anyone else's beliefs as long as they aren't rude or pushy when mine aren't the same. I don't mind people who want to talk about their religion, so long as they're knowledgable about what they're talking about. Example: a mormon missionary was telling me about Jesus preaching in the new world. I asked how Jesus could possibly get to the new world from the Jerusalem area, and they had no clue how to answer that question. If you're going to try to explain your faith to someone else, make sure you understand it yourself, at least well enough to give intelligent answers to someone who may have never heard of what you're talking about.
  6. I even get political calls at my unlisted number.... got one from representatives of the republican party wanting to register "Anakin Koenig". Anakin's my cat. Couple of friends also got calls asking for their pets. We finally concluded that they'd bought the AVID pet microchip database and gotten the "pet's name" field mixed up with "owner's first name". Sigh... at least that call was funny. Most of them are just recordings.
  7. It's totally up to you. Risk/benefit analysis. We all have to decide if jumping is worth the risk.
  8. I've noticed far too many Christians who haven't read the Bible and aren't exactly sure what they believe...but they're sure ready to tell you all about it, until you ask a question they can't answer.
  9. dude... Bush just isn't smart enough to plan something like that...plus, there'd be a lot more "evidence" linking it to Iraq.
  10. yes, you need permission to play music that is not in the common domain.
  11. you can probably find black grommets at a fabric or craft store. not sure about the specific kind you want, though.
  12. It makes it appear as if these comments regarding the gear are coming from the user who's sending the PM. I remember thinking "WTF...I thought Rosa jumped a spectre!" after seeing a pilot ad under one of her PMs. I think it's a good advertizing idea, but it shouldn't appear as if individual users are attaching these sig lines, because that user may or may not agree with the gear review.
  13. same orientation as before. there's air coming in under the faceplate, it's not much snugger than before.
  14. Just smile and be your wonderful self! you'll do just fine.
  15. the neptune is behaving itself. it's the pro-dytter and protrack that were acting weird. dumb question... how do you turn off a pro-track? I got mine as a gift from a friend, without the manual, so I don't know how to make it do half of what it's supposed to.
  16. ok... this is totally weird. I go jumping at chick's rock. my pro-track alarms are set at 5K, 4K, and 2.5K. at 5K, I hear nothing, but, being altitude aware and not beep-reliant, break off anyway and pull at the proper altitude. Protrack gave me the 5K beep at 4K, had me opening at 4200. Neptune on same dive had me open at 2900, which sounds right, given my visual altitude and time under canopy. So, the next day, figuring the pro-track was having issues, I borrow Clownburner's pro-dytter. The dytter went off 1000 feet low, just like the pro-track! I had the neptune checked by Alti-Bob, and he said it's working fine. So, if the dytter is doing the same thing as the pro-track, and the neptune has been checked, how in the heck is there all of a sudden a 1K difference in my neptune and my protrack/dytter? the only thing that's different is that I got my helmet painted.
  17. I thought Gore won the popular vote in 2000, but Bush won the EC? From http://www.fec.gov/pubrec/fe2000/prespop.htm Al Gore (Democrat) 50,999,897 votes 48.38% of the popular vote George W. Bush (Republican) 50,456,002 votes 47.87% of the popular vote Bush received the Electoral College votes from 30 states (271 votes) Gore received the Electoral College votes from 21 states (266 votes) (Electoral College votes include District of Columbia; hence 51 'states')
  18. It's probably got nothing to do with gender and everything to do with issues within your relationship. If your SO wants to leave, let them go.
  19. I had an awesome time on my visit to Hollister. =)
  20. I'd like to see every vote count. One person, one vote, doesn't matter where you live.
  21. How can you say we had less business entering it?? Japan, a direct ally of the Germans attacked us on December 7, 1941. After we were attacked by the ally of Nazi Germany, we entered the war. They bombed us first.
  22. I wear my helmet all the way to altitude to protect my hearing. It's a full-face, so goggles aren't an issue. I do wear an open-face occasionally, and put the goggles around my neck. Hard to ignore goggles bumping your chin.
  23. I don't think it will make much of a difference for the undecideds. Mainly, people vote on whether or not they like the incumbent. If they don't like the incumbent, the other guy wins. If they do like him, he gets re-elected. However, I do think Clinton's appearance will motivate already decided democrats to get their butts to the polls, which may make a difference overall.
