A few posts in the Bonfire made me curious about the history of the Army-Navy game and who was ahead. I found this link that shows it's pretty much 50/50, but I noticed (and this is just a glance at the history without any detailed research) that it appears that Navy tends to have winning streaks during war years. The Vietnam years are a little iffy, I guess. Why? My guess is that more people choose to go Navy during conflict. No slam on Navy, I served 10 years myself, but casualties ARE lower than Army's during war. Anyone want to comment? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army-Navy_Game Owned by Remi #?

To me, it says that some time around the mid nineties people started quitting akydiving before they got any license beyond "A". That's based on the assumption that people who stick with it get the other licenses, which I think is a reasonable assumption for the population in general. Owned by Remi #?

Just like last year? Or the year before...or the year before that...or the year before that? GO NAVY! Owned by Remi #?

What about making someone fall asleep and then suddenly wake up? I love that "was I drooling?" look people get when they do that Owned by Remi #?

Aircraft emergency exit - do you pay your ticket?

This topic gives me a great idea. The next time I'm on an RW jump that doesn't get at least a few points, I'm going to demand that everyone else in the jump pay for my skydive. Owned by Remi #? -
So you saw this tat and it turned you on but the only way you could think of to share without admitting it turned you on was to introduce the prison theme, eh? Owned by Remi #?

I can only share my own experience and not offer advice about the fit but: I'm 160 and 5'10 and I jumped a Javelin with a C-17 harness for about 200 jumps. The rig seemed to fit fairly well but was a little long. That didn't bug me too much until I had a cutaway and my reserve handle ended up next to my jaw under my ear. I ordered a rig sized to fit me. It's no fun losing track of the silver handle when you really want to pull it. Edit: Right after I posted that I had a nagging feeling that the harness was a C-19, not C-17 so I looked back at some paperwork I had and realized I was indeed wrong. My rig was not a C-17, sorry. Consider it an opportunity do do something more suitable for your temperament and intellect. See if your city is hiring sanitation engineers, for example. Owned by Remi #?

I have both Sirius and XM. I'd recommend Sirius if you prefer more "talk radio" options and XM if you prefer music. The down-side of XM is the commercials on the music stations now. Owned by Remi #?

Brand new Vector 3. They have covers over the reserve risers and then the main risers. New, stiff riser covers + a packing mistake (main risers stowed under reserve riser covers) = trapped main risers. No complaints, it was my fault. Edit to add: It was a Sabre2 170 and the container was fitted for that size canopy. Terminal deployment. Owned by Remi #?

(I think) the cause was: RR#1-Toggle fire + lines twists = buh-bye RR#2-Risers trapped in container = huh? + buh-bye Owned by Remi #?

No, and I wouldn't want to if I could. There's a creepy reflection in the bottom of the cup. Owned by Remi #?

Maybe just my take on what PB wrote but it seems to me that you're agreeing with him and being contradictory in one post. You think some people shouldn't do a tandem because the increased risk is too much but you also think it's a good idea to charge heavier students more to discourage them from jumping? Seems to me that the simple answer there is to refuse them, not charge them more. Owned by Remi #?

I always assumed it was so that you could get it inflated. Without the mesh how would it fill with air and generate the drag to pull the pin? Owned by Remi #?

What does it actually mean, to have the Demo's win the Senate and House?
labrys replied to Newbie's topic in Speakers Corner
The president does have the ability to veto legislation, but congress can overturn a veto with a 2/3 majority in both houses, which isn't likely to happen with the sentate split so evenly but.... When there's a president in office who's in the same party as the majority in both houses, that party pretty much gets to do what it wants, as the republicans have been doing. If anyone wants to get anything done for the next 2 years they'll have to negotiate now. If the next president elected is a democrat, the democrats will have a lot of freedom to act. There are more implications like the control of the commitees that oversee the military, government spending, etc. and the ability to investigate the acts of those commitees but I'm not that well versed in the details. I'm not that experienced but I do remember being told that disconnecting my RSL wouldn't be a bad idea before cutting away... just on the off chance that my main would take off with enough speed to deploy the reserve. Owned by Remi #?
