    Resume advice

Ya, medical info in your resume goes against the americans with disability act. Don't put it in there as it can't have any say in if you get hired or not (unless its declared in the description, but I'm pretty sure its illegal then too). Good luck, Jen Arianna Frances
  3. I watch. I think that stuff is cool Jen Arianna Frances
  4. wow - he's lost almost half of himself... good on him! wow Jen Arianna Frances
  5. ok, good to hear. I've never lived in a state where I haven't had to file income tax, so nothing new there. Jen Arianna Frances
  6. uh oh - whats the income tax rate? ok, maybe I'm just confused about taxes - I file a 1040 with RI when I do my taxes, so MA and RI have state income tax then... what makes GA different? Jen Arianna Frances
  7. You've never lived in the northeast have you? Trust me, you have no idea what expensive rent, bad weather or traffic is until you've spent a winter in Boston. Jen Arianna Frances
  8. oh ya, thats a given. But with moving expenses etc. we don't want to add to it if we don't have to. Paying off our debt by the end of the summer or so will not be hard... just have to be disciplined. Jen Arianna Frances
  9. no kidding - there is no way I can stay here when I need $45,000 down to get a house.... We agreed to pay down our $5000 in debt before we start saving up for the move - so I've got to learn to budget better... Jen Arianna Frances
  10. ahhh... good point. I look forward to getting the big amount back, cause I'm not as disciplined as I should be with the savings stuff. (lost my 401k when I left my job and now its just sitting in some fund I've lost track of ) I'll be sure to talk to my accountant lady this year - she's usually full of good ideas (like pay your taxes on time... or, no a 501c3 will not give your personal taxes a bigger cut).... hell, what do I know. Thats what I pay the professionals for Jen Arianna Frances
  11. ooh ooh ooh - I'd be closer to Sheenie Beenie too!!!! This move will rock!! Jen Arianna Frances
  12. tee hee.... this won't hurt one bit... Jen Arianna Frances
  13. ya baby! The pats rock! So glad to see them doing so well when my entire childhood they sucked bad. Jen Arianna Frances
  14. Can't wait to do taxes. Last year we got $3k back... is that the gear fairy I hear? What, the IRS is the gear fairy now? Jen Arianna Frances
  15. ya... well, since both Kelly and me will be in Atlanta you'll have to make the trip... a few times Jen Arianna Frances
  16. Thanks for this info Nina! I get to 'make my case' tonight. Which ever of us finds a job first gets to go. Software works seems pretty good in that area. He'll find something quick, so I hope he's up for finding a job before me Its a big city, and big cities have their issues. Personally, I love being 5/10 min. from anything and everything. We're both city types, so it sounds like a good fit. Jen Arianna Frances
  17. Ya think he'd want to live there considering all of his family lives in the tanque verde area Still working on him - dry heat would be so nice! Jen Arianna Frances
  18. ya ya ya, rub it in. Tucson is my first choice, but hubby won't do the desert Jen Arianna Frances
  19. ya, try getting that in Providence now too Sounds like a good deal - you guys obviously really like it there. There were twice as many software type of jobs listed for the atlanta area than boston/providence... thats gotta tell you something. He'll find work no problem, me on the other hand... well, my internship this semester should help. Jen Arianna Frances
  20. ding ding ding! We have a winner! A ranch in Cranston, RI (the city that had its finances taken over by the state and now has the highest tax rate in RI) is listed at $533,000. WTF??! Who can get started here when property sells for that?? Who?? It's like running down a hallway, seeing the end, but never actually getting to it Jen Arianna Frances
  21. there's the other atlantian I was hoping would see this thread! Did you find cost of living vs. pay to be vastly different? Similar to you guys I'll be just finishing my degree so there's a career change (best time to go IMO) in the works too. Atlanta rocks - thats good to hear
  22. Life would suck without you to hang with.... so move the biz to Atlanta!! Michael won't mind My family is not going anywhere, so you can be sure I'll be 'going home' often. I just hate the cold weather... gimme the desert any day, just that Shawn won't go to AZ. Its cccccoooollllldddd here Need....to..get...warm.... Jen Arianna Frances
  23. eek! really? ugh... but the alternative to Boston is the T, which is no fun either. There is no alternative in Atlanta huh? Jen Arianna Frances
  24. ya, the roads are pretty bad up here aren't they? I've never enjoyed winter driving.... or 'after winter' driving when all the roads are eaten up by the weather Seems like a good compromise to me! ya! Jen Arianna Frances
