100% irish catholic from Boston here My cousins went to Dublin for St. Patricks Day and were SORELY disappinted at the lack of drunken debauchery (seperating it from any other day of course ). I think its so huge in this area because of the story behind St. Patrick - saving the Irish etc. where lots saw coming to America as saving them too. My family bypassed the US though - they settled on PEI for 2 generations before making their way to Boston. I have yet to do St. Patty's in Boston (I live in Providence now), but I've heard its lots of fun despite the cold Jen Arianna Frances

I've had this conversation before with a friend. People get into the sport for lots of reasons - to say they did it, to prove to themselves or others, because its fun etc. Those that do it because its fun tend to stick around after their A license as opposed to people who did it to prove something. And sometimes... its a little of both Jen Arianna Frances

I just finished AFF and my A jumps at Sebastian. They have mostly new gear (javelins) ranging from a 170 - 260. Landing area was a bit rough last week (busted water main flooded the landing area) but its still very navigateable. Expect to do some walking or you can ride the van out to the plane as the airport has dug up the taxi way in front of the hanger. Last monday they got up something like 12 loads (not bad for a weekday). They're pretty newb friendly. It really depends on who's visiting. I did a bunch of jumps with some folks visiting from the UK and had a ton of fun... but if they weren't there I would have probably been doing lots of solos. They've got a tent up for packing now and there's also the main hanger. The restaurant is open again too. You'll have fun. I love the view at Sebastian, miss it already. Jen Arianna Frances

thanks to all of you my productivity in ... anything... has hit the floor. I'm so freakin' obsessed that I can't comprehend thinking of anything else (including my studies ) thanks to all of you I'm about to borrow money to get gear... wow, where did my sense of financial responsability go? thanks to all of you I'm spending more money in just a few months than in recent memory... yep, tunnel camps and lots of trips to FL are so horrible. thanks to all of you I'm selling prized posessions - didn't want that clarinet or stereo equipment anyway thanks to all of you... Ya, darn it all.... I get out of new england cold for sunny Florida for the second time in one month. Whats this world coming to? I know I said I was looking forward more to the tunnel camp than I was to the past week, but I had so much danm fun on Monday that I'm now looking forward to the jumps with you guys more I got money on my account at Deland now too... more fun for me!
