  1. Ok this is dumb shit I have no time for. You asked if I think healthcare is a right? I said yes. Just because you don’t agree with it doesn’t mean I didn’t answer your questions. Yes you pay taxes right? Healthcare is not the first thing your taxed for right? so why out of all the taxes we pay the one that will save our fellow citizens lives is the one that gets a bug up your ass? Does your head hurt when you spin like that? We all pay taxes or most of us do, that go to many programs. Again the point you seem to miss over and over and over again is we already pay taxes. Not just me but we all do. and guess what those taxes are used for many programs. I am sure that everyone might not agree on all of them but we still pay. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  2. So you also agree that people who can not afford it should get health insurance. We just don’t agree on the income levels and the details. I also think the simple option which seems to work great in the UK is a single payer option that insures everyone. Rich and poor, and if you want extera health care or insurance you can get it. I am not a giant corporation hater, however my one exception is healthcare. The idea of making profit on disease and peoples health seems so dirty and wrong to me. I just can not justify another person suffering because someone needs to make a profit. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  3. In a society we all pay our share for a lot of what we have. Military, roads, welfare, etc. As I said before I can not think of a better thing to be taxed for then saving a a fellow citizens life. So I am not excluding my self. I can’t understand the argument that some how all the other shit we the tax payers pay for is more ok then saving our fellow citizens lives. I think the insurance companies are investing all they can in the spin machine and spewing out garbage like “ the old will be told to go die because there hearth medicine will cost to much”. I just hear that and think wow who is stupid enough to believe that dumb shit. But fear works. No one actually thinks that there simply protecting their multi billion-dollar industry. As I said before I would love to see a single payer option, and I have no problem if a corporation doesn’t make a profit on a kids cancer. I am ok with that. I also think this points to a huge problem we have in our culture. MONEY IS NOT EVERY THING AND THERE ARE THINGS THAT ARE VALUED MORE. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  4. I don’t think anyone is saying Drs. Should work for free. I also don’t think the insurance companies help Drs, or anyone else really. They’re a business that cares about one thing money. I am not saying that’s a bad thing all the time, all I am saying is it’s a bad thing when it comes to peoples health. Some things are worth more then money. I think a single payer option would be great for everyone but the insurance companies. I wonder how much there’re spending on the spine machine to keep a strangle hold on their multi billion dollar industry. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  5. How is health care a right? What problems do you feel can be justifiably solved through the initiation of force and violence? I know these are some tough questions for you, but I'm hoping you can give me a straight answer instead of the evasiveness and attacks that you responded with earlier. Sorry for the long delay in my replay, today is the first just I have had to. It is my opinion that a great nation would take care of its citizens health. No different then a natural disaster. When someone gets sick to me it’s a personal natural disaster. We are also smart enough to know that prevention is always a better option then a cure. I am not saying that the healthcare professionals like drs, nurses, researchers etc. should work for free all I am saying is us ALLL OF US should chip in. When your initial response is too assume you know things about me personally that you don’t or you assume to read my mind you shouldn’t expect me to just let you get away with it. I can’t stand people who try to tell me what I am thinking. I also hate the group mentality that appears here some times as I call it the circle jerk. Where there is no facts just the same spine that the same people pass back and forth together. It reminds me of high school and even then I thought it was immature and a trick used by people who can not find the facts to support their ideas. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  6. I'm happy to help people out. I actually do it with some regularity. And I applaud you for doing it, too. But I'm not so comfortable in my superiority that I want to FORCE everyone else to do things my way. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not so convinced that my way is right that I want everyone else to do it my way or go to jail. Let me ask you somthing we don't agree on much bur i have always respected the way approch your point. Do you think the current system is fine the way it is? If not what would you change in it? What should people who trully can't afford health care do? and lets please leave the minority of people who are lazy fucks who leech from every thing. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  7. Depending on the circumstance, chemo might be rationed anyway, so who cares if it's "free" if it's not available? Do you really think people will just stand by for that? Your saying people might be killed because of wait or it costs too much? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  8. Because Mike, i might not be able to help family with 20 from a pay check but we could help a lot more people if we all pay 20 a week. I am making the number up ut you get my point. There is also this. if it is treated like a right no one needs to beg for it you already know you are coverd, and can deal with all the other things you need to deal with. If it is our tax money it is for all of us. I honestly think its as fair as you can get. I mean it is more fair then wellfair. We all get sick, and some of us get really sick. Its not like someone doesn't want to work or their lazy you don;t have much control over getting sick, and no one actully wants to get sick. I really don;t think any one is going to sit there and hope to get cancer so they get free chimo. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  9. I would not support that, but i also don't believe all the bullshit that the right is using. I listen to talk radio and i just lose respect when people spew garbage. Jay Severn who i usually like was saying that there going to tell your 70 year old mother to go and die because they don't want to pay for her heart pills. That's just fucking stupid and make his lose all credibility. The left is not much better, when they have an issue that's on their agenda they push it and falsify claims. There is no one to trust. There is not a single person i can think of who call them self a news person that i trust. There all full of shit. I don't like the health plan because i disagree with it for the exact opposite reason of most of you. I think health care is a right for a country that is at our calibre. Do we really want anyone to be sick and not be able to pay for it? I mean that's what it comes to. Are we ok as a nation to let our fellow citizen suffer because he can't afford it. I am not. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  10. Again try and read. I know your to busy having a circle jerk with the same sheep who fucked this country in teh first place but the least you could do is read. I personaly could not think of any thing better to be taxed for then my fellwo citizens health. I wouldn't bitch about my tax money being spent to save a kid from cancer. Thats just me. I am wierd like that. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  11. Wow You assume to know what i am thinking, you asume to know how much i spend and whose Internet i am using you know what they say about people who assume, I'll assume you know. Last i checked we were not in the business of saving every one in the world. That was not s psrt of thid thread, spin spin spin spin. Maybe that's your first of many problems with this argument. We are not or should not be the world police. So lets first get that straight. We are talking or at least i am talking about healthcare for US citizens. I also don't need your pics, i have seen things first hand that you have only seen on TV. So take your arrogant nonfactual attitude and actually take the time to read what were talking about. This is not save the world. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  12. Oh THATS what he was trying to say I was confused as hell trying to find out how does wanting everyone to have healthcare and racism relate. How am I the richest guy, fuck I haven’t made a jump in two years cause I can’t afford it. So all what he was saying was confusing. I know how important insurance is but I can not afford to have it any longer. It is important and I wish I could afford it, but survival like roof and food come first. So I guess I am spoiled compared to people who don’t have food, or legs, or eyes but that’s not the way we make policies If we are a great society we do what other great societies do which is take care of each other, and value our lives more then money. Please Note: Yes compared to the world we have it much better then 3rd world countries, but compared to many first world democracies who insure all of their citizens we are behind. Because no matter how you like to spine it. Some insurance is better then none. But you guys keep fighting for the insurance companies, god forbid if profit is not the driving force in health care. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  13. ????????????? ??????????????????????? just free healthcare ???????????????????????????????? was that a spasm or a post? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  14. I am not saying the bill in congress is the end all be all solution. All I am saying is that every one should have health insurance. I just don’t think having millions of people who can not afford it, or the expanse is so high that at times they have to choose not to get it is good for the country. I don’t understand the arguments against that. I can understand if you disagree with the method, or have different viewpoint about how it should be done. However I don’t think the option of some people are just fucked as they are now should even be on the table. I also don’t think when someone gets sick really sick they should have to worry about how and if they can afford treatment. We are too good of a country to allow that to happen. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  15. Will its more a belief, that everyone should have health care. For all the things our taxes get spent on I can’t think of a better priority then the health of my fellow citizen. Yea like food, and rent. At over 300 bucks a month I would say that it is not affordable. Not to mention you can get dropped, and denied claims are a source of adding to the profit for the ins companies. Again I am ok with insurance companies not making mopney on peoples illness. I rather see them get treated. As for emergency care anyone can tell you prevention is a lot cheaper then letting a problem get to a point of emergency. When your money save another citizens life i would say that is very patriotic. The government takes your money and my money for so much shit I just find it very odd that guys always perching about morals, and patriotism have dug their heals in when it comes to their fellow citizens health. Knowing that we all get sick knowing that if you do get something horrible and not a millionaire your fucked. Again Helth care is not 10 bucks a month, i am young and healthy and got a very midocare plan it was about 300 a months. I don;t know about you but thats a lot of money. Because I live in the real world, and know plenty of good hard working people who simply can not afford insurance. If every one was being treated because of others good will then we would not be having this discussion would we. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  16. Really So where did you get these numbers? And do you really think people making over 50K say fuck my health or they choose to pay their bills? I can't think of anyone who thinks health is no big deal. Most don't get it because guess what it costs too much. As for patriotism I thought saving your fellow citizens lives would be a high priority, but I guess for some it only applies when we kill some brown people, or put a yellow ribbon on the truck. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  17. Lets see in a state where not every one is covered there is less wait, but in a state where every one is there is more wait? Hmmmmmm i wonder why. Could it be that everyone who needs to go see a dr. actually can in MA?? and in the other state you can go to the emergency room after an easy fix turns in to a life-threatening emergency. I mean if I can afford health insurance, why would I want the poor to have health insurance too, that could be a waist of time for me........How patriotic. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  18. Fuck the caption thats a nice assssssssssss. Nice asses always remind me of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5vlco4yvSc I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  19. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjCIT3M1dqs heres a few from TJ. the first 30 sec. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  21. Penn & Teller on the 2nd Amendment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GNu7ldL1LM this makes sense to me. I think logic, history, and executions in so called gun free zones have thought me at least, that gun control laws are good for the criminals. Again I have mentioned this before. Never forget your right to own guns is not just to be able to protect your self from the murders but most important it is to protect you from government. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  22. Well if profit is the only thing drug companies care for and I am sure they do it would make sense that they would never cure anything, and that they would make drugs that can keep you alive but never fully cure you does it not? Or do you think in that instance all of a sudden they would do the right thing? Also only caring about profit when it comes to our health could explain why we have so many drugs that get recalled and kill people. For me profit is not a valid excuse to endanger people’s health, and to trust the conscience of huge corporations. Last I checked most doctors where actually becoming doctors to help people, not to become the apprentice. I know its hard to believe but there are more important things then money, like health. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  23. No you can't, its not cheep or even affordable. Not to mention you get dropped when you need it most. Again i am ok with insurance companies not making money on peoples health. I don't get what the problem is. its peoples lives not a candy bar. Off all the bull shit we pay taxes for its odd that the right seems to have a problem with health care for all Americans. I personally can't think of anything more patriotic then making sure every American has good health care. Its funny what peoples idea of patriotism is. Save lives your a pussy liberal, send people to die that's patriotic. Crazy crazy world. Ofthen I wonder where you guys get your standards from. Most have no issue with the defence budget to keep Americans lives safe but god forbid we spend a fraction of that to keep our brothers and sisters healthy? It just doesn't make any sense to me. Do you know where we are ranked in health care in the world? look it up anyone who thinks the current system works is insane or out of touch with the average American making about 30 K year. Ask any one in UK if they like their system or not? i bet you most are happy with it at least that's been my experience when i have asked. Insurance is better then no insurance and if you want extra because you are fortunate enough to have the cash go right ahead. The system the way it is right now loses way too much money and does not do a good job. Not to mention people get fucked when they need it most. Single payer option is the way to go. Dr. already take an oath to do whats right for the patient all we have to do is let them no they can bill the government which is all of us. Again out of all the things my taxes get spent on saving my fellow citizens lives seems like a higher and more noble priority, then anything else. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  24. Because food and shelter are attainable with a little bit of work, and health there are no guaranties for anyone. I can think of a lot of people who take care of there health but still get sick, still get cancer. Disease doesn't care if you work hard, it doesn't care if you have money or not. Oh and we take pride in helping people who can not feed themselves when it is not a lack of work bur simply impossible to get food. We donate to help a lot of people. The good news is in the US food is very cheep compared to minimum income. I don't get the whole issue you free market guys have with a single payer option? Is it that hard to understand that every one gets sick, and me or you or any other citizens should worry about there health when there sick and not the money. I have no problem with my taxes being used to help pay for my fellow Americans treatments. I actually can't think of something i would be more for when it comes to my taxes being spent then health. I am a free market guy however i have not sold my soul to the idea, and understand there are gray areas. I really don't have a problem with saying insurance companies should not make a profit on cancer. I am ok with that. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
  25. I work out six days a week (three of them with a trainer), every week, and skydive on the weekends. I walk to work every day (about a mile each way). I eat primarily whole foods, lean meats, whole grains, lots of fruit and vegetables, in moderate portions. Socioeconomically I'm upper middle class, and I'm white. According to the BMI charts, I'm obese. Still want to call me a lazy fuck and stereotype me? Good luck with that. I know the feeling. I am FAT but can play with the best of them and other then being fat have no health issuies. I find the obsession with body image more disturbing. I think people who are obsessed with their body and spend a significant amount of their time, energy, and money on looking good have issues. Unless of course you are a pro athlete or you are training for something. I think what’s key is being healthy and that does not necessarily mean the photo shop images you see in magazines. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
