Well, not so much a stupid question as a typical whuffo statement. I was talking with my boss and co-workers about Social Security today, and they said: "Ahh, don't worry about it. If you keep jumping out of airplanes you won't make it long enough to collect anyway." HMM. Guess that means I'm middle aged at 27

Sorry, I think you're misinformed. None of them are really actors because they don't know how to act. :-)

LOL, I don't think I could afford many addictions besides skydiving. I did smoke, but that's a relatively tame one moneywise. If I were into other drugs though, I don't think I could afford to buy them and feed my real habit. As for the leaving it all behind thing... Yeah, selling my house and moving out to a dropzone does have a certain appeal.

Hehe. Well I don't have that problem at least, but I do have cats so mine stays in the closet. I was running out the door for the DZ one day, when the urge hit me, so I sat the rig down by the door and used the bathroom. 2 minutes later when I came out, my rig was covered in cat hair

Wow. And I was planning to fork out $50 for a weight vest. I guess all I need to do is drink more beer!
-
Hmm. I guess the head downers would be most successful then. And the poor bird-man suit guys come out on the bottom.
-
Just one thing: Relax If you can do that, you've 90% of AFF mastered already
-
My definition: Low pull - Under 2000' High pull - Over 4000' I don't really think there's such a high pull, but if you don't tell the load organizer and people aren't expecting it it can cause problems.
-
Sweet. Guess I have both and didn't even realize it. That must mean we don't really celebrate the SCR/SCS at my DZ. I've never seen a ceremony for one.
-
Sweet Stacy, WTG. So now all the DZ parties will be held at your house, right?
-
Well, I must admit I've landed in a few. For some reason when I throw my rig on and start trying to open the door those stewardesses get upset.

The only cert I can think of where the free fall time really matters is for AFF Jumpmaster (6 hours required). I'm not talking about gold wings and such since they don't really grant any special privleges, just bragging rights. With a wing suit, it would be possible to become an AFF JM at 200 jumps (D License is required) whereas most jumpers take at least 350 to get the necessary FF time. However, having watched that course, you don't get that rating unless you know how to fly your !$$ off, so I doubt a wingsuit jumper could just get over because they had more freefall time.

Something you want to tell us Stacy?
-
I think you mean Joisey
-
LOL, you're very close to the truth with that Skygoddess remark. I'll let FFF fill in the details as he pleases though.

How tight is your Z1? I've got a ditter in my Z1 in the pocket, and I don't even notice it. As for the mode, they come from the factory in the power save mode, which shuts itself off after about 12 hours or so, but I set mine to the always on setting. I think the increase in battery drain is worth it if it means I won't have to take it out and turn it one every day when I start jumping (which I'd probably forget).
-
Which guy. FFF? I hope you're not talking about me? It's pretty hard to get me riled up, and something like smoking probably isn't going to do it.
-
Hey, glad to hear you're back at work now Lisa. It's nice having a job you like, eh? Not that I'd know. I hope you get well soon so you can start jumping again.
-
How about this pathetic excuse then:
-
Yeah, lots of ballet dancing By club, I'm talking about a place where there is either a DJ or a band playing some rock music so loud that your ears start to bleed, lots of alcohol, and people out in the middle of the floor dancing, writhing, gyrating, whatever.
-
What? It doesn't make me a better skydiver? Actually, I think having a few beers in me would make me a better flyer, since about 90% of relative work is staying relaxed. Pull time would be a different story though!
-
It's kind of funny you should mention that. Back when I was taking AFF and I had all the newbie jitters, I think the smoking actually helped me keep calm. I'd inhale about half a pack before every jump. I actually came to associate skydiving with smoking because of that. Now that I've quit, the DZ is still one of the hardest places for me temptation-wise (dance club is the worst).

Ok, nm. I got it working off my ISP. I couldn't get into their FTP server earlier, but I found a 6 month old e-mail message saying they moved it. It helps when you're using the right server.
-
Nah, not the point. I don't want to have to send you a pic every time I want to post it somewhere. I'll can the geocities thing and try another site. I'd put it on the server at work, but for some reason DOD gets a little anal about that sort of thing
-
Hmm. Looks like Geocities is just being a prick about it. I can go to http://www.geocities.com/jumpergrogs/pics and it will show the pic in there, but when I put the whole thing in http://www.geocities.com/jumpergrogs/pics/BRGTHUMB.jpg it pukes.
