I've felt all along that there had to some reason for Burisma to pay Hunter Biden that kind of money. If that isn't for lobbying I can't imagine what else it might be for.

I agree Wendy. The current system makes it damned near impossible for someone convicted of a crime to find gainful employment. Rox runs a DD facility that is totally funded by Medicaid. She has real trouble hiring people for $11 an hour to do the menial jobs required. And when she has someone who wants to work they must pass a drug screen and background check.

I disagree. In general people feel much better about earning something than having it given to them. Just look at the participation trophy fiasco. We need to help those who can't help themselves and we need a safety net for everyone to be used in times of need but that's not what we have now. We have generations who are dependent upon a government check every month.

I am somewhat torn on the issue of abortion. As I've said before I was adopted. That was 1958. Had that been post 1973 I'm not sure I would be here today. I also got a woman pregnant when I was in HS. She had an abortion. I wasn't ready to be a parent and I doubt her husband would have been very understanding. In this age I hear people defend abortion by saying things like "everyone makes mistakes". I agree. But it shouldn't take 7 months to figure it out. At 7 months the fetus is viable and I have a problem with abortion that late in the pregnancy.

I know...bad example. I'm thinking in terms of zoning laws in cities. I deal with it alot so it's easy for me to understand. Cities have zoning regs. The city can't tell me I can't have my titty bar, they can only tell me where I have to put it. The law doesn't allow a state to deny abortions. Every state that has tried to restrict abortions has been found unconstitutional.

It's pretty clear. It's the same thing as zoning laws. You can tell me where to put my abortion clinic but you can't say I can't have one. States can't refuse to allow someone access to abortions. I don't think that's how it was prior to 1973.
