The biggest problem I have with the whole thread is it's revisionist history. It's unfair to take these 60+ years old events and judge them based on today's reality. On the surface this sounded like a no-brainer but upon further review this is a tough one. The child must stay on life support until after the trial, but the trial should probably be for murder. Can you have a trial like this only to have it re-opened for murder?
