Beautiful week at Hilton Head with Rox, her daughter, and the daughter's husband...mama's boy. I'm not kidding here. His family used to go to HH regularly on vacation. He recounted stories of having to practice running away from alligators. It seems you don't run straight, you have to zig-zag. Wouldn't go to the beach because he doesn't like getting sandy. We had to make sure the restaurant had 'Jason food'...chicken fingers or pizza. I could go on.... Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

At the marina where I sometimes buy gas for the boat they still have those older dial type pumps. I think it's great when the young turk who hands me the hose thinks I'm not gonna be able to stop it dead on. He has no idea. Remember when gas first went past $1 per gallon and none of the pumps were ever designed to handle more that 99.9 cents? Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

I think it's interesting that no one really wants to talk about the 'effective' tax rate. Most of us get a paycheck minus all of the taxes the feds ,state and local governments take out. Typically it leaves us about 65-70%. Then, when we purchase something we pay sales tax (at least here in Ohio). Typically 5.5 - 7%. Oh...I forgot about property taxes, excise taxes and the like. All paid with post tax dollars. The effective rates of taxation approaches 50% here in the heartland. I don't even want to think about what it's like on the coasts. My point? Enough already! Start spending less...enact pay-go...balanced budget amendment. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
