Let's talk about profiling...last night Rox stops at a grocery to get some last minute Thanksgiving stuff and a couple of bottles of liquor. Not a terrible neighborhood but not the best either. The way that liquor works in Ohio is it has to be purchased separately and bagged up. So when you leave the store you have liquor in brown paper bag your other stuff in their own bags (plastic). As she leave 4 black youths appear from the nearest corner of the store and start following her to her car. She could tell they were interested in what she had in her cart. They were getting pretty close when all of a sudden the cop that was at the door yelled something to the effect of "you guys planning on helping that lady with her groceries?" They took off running. I wonder how long it will be (if it hasn't happened already) before someone paints an orange ring on the end of their fully functional weapon, and a cop gets shot, because he hesitated? Any thing that looks like a functional weapon should be treated like one. My view of the whole situation has changed. Being that you want to be a cop, signed up, passed the exam, and did the training the onus should be on you to exercise just a bit of restraint when it comes to firing your service revolver. If that bit of restraint ends up getting you wounded or killed it's part of the job description. Plenty of videos of cops who shoot first and ask questions later. This one I have a problem with. There's no mistaking a 12yo. Yes he had a 'gun'. Yes he didn't follow the orders of police. This is one of those situations where i think the cop MUST defer his initial response to open fire and just see what happens. Weapon wasn't drawn...wasn't pointed at the cop. Are you referring to the same business community you love to hate when it comes to politics? They are angels when it comes to immigration but devils when they buy up votes? I've never met a successful biz owner who wouldn't cut off your left nut if they thought it would improve their bottom line. I don't ever remember supporting any recent President's plans on immigration reform. Unfortunately every president's efforts to reform immigration have made the matter worse. Biggest reason; they actually create an incentive for illegals to cross the border. A border over which we have lost control. You love to point out how many Presidents have used Executive Action on immigration. Funny how it's never, ever worked to improve the situation. So when you support this kind of action you're supporting the cartels in Mexico blackmailing Central Americans into paying to gain passage. You're supporting turning parts of TX and CA and AZ into third world countries. I believe the next big terror attack here in the US will show the terrorists have been entering the US along the southern border for a while now. I know we need the immigrants to do the jobs here no one else is willing to do. They need a path to citizenship. The laws need to change. However, until we gain control of the border we're trying to control flood waters with a turkey baster. And you'll never have a rational persons support while this situation exists.
