I almost hate to say it, because I'm all for technology, but what I think we have here is the first true "fly by wire" tragedy. We've all seen this Airbus crash http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCwYAzqvcrQ which really didn't have anything to do with the aircraft, just daft pilots, but in the end I want steel cables between my hands and feet to the aerilons and rudders - not just electrons thank you! Especially in a thunderstorm . . . NickD

Last night at about 4:00 AM in the morning Julia poked me in the ribs. So this was either someone at the door wanting to go B.A.S.E. jumping, or I was about to get lucky . . . It was neither. "Michelle Obama is pregnant!" she stated. I've found, over 15 years I've lived with her, that Julia's premonitions are usually right. So I just wanted to get it into the record so you'll all know you heard it here first . . . Due in January or April 2010! Probably the Lincoln bed I figure! NickD

Although Nina's not ready for paint yet, I had a quart of Hod Rod Flatz I wanted to try out. So I prepped and shot my front fender. The first go was a disaster. I followed the spec sheet exactly and added the reducer even though I thought the paint was pretty thin to begin with. And sure enough it ran like Napoleon's army at Waterloo . . . The next day I sanded it off and prepped it again. But before that I ran my fingernail across it and although it wasn't yet fully cured it seemed to be a tough finish. (It didn't leave a mark like regular flat black paint would.) This time I left out the reducer and it flowed fine with no runs or sags . . . NickD
