  1. I lived in the Perris Ghetto for many years. So yes, Ghetto Trash is an acceptable term . . . NickD
  2. What State do you live in? In So Cal it's just a California state background check through a live scan fingerprint check. (Not that I have anything to hide, LOL!) But, sheesh, how much of a police state are we going to put up with for a eleven dollar an hour job? Not too mention keeping your NREMT card, CPR card, Ambu Driver License, and Continuing Education requirements current? I never thought I'd find anything as badly administrated as skydiving but I did, it's EMS . . . NickD
  3. I got a ticket for doing the ton on my motorcycle one afternoon in Perris (I was in between a long string of tandems and trying to clear my head, LOL!) When I showed up for the initial court date my ticket wasn't on the docket. I found out later the officer that wrote me up was killed by a gang banger a couple hours after he stopped me. They took his ticket book, badge, and gun and they were never recovered. I would have rather paid the 200 bucks . . . NickD
  4. Lee, are you a master rigger? If so, why don't you just get the FSDO to appoint you as DPRE? You might have to go to Kansas City for an orientation (or wherever the feds do that nowadays) but every area should have a local DPRE. I had a hard time taking even the written test at the San Diego FSDO. I swear the guy says to me, "Do we give that test?" Then he and I spent 45 minutes looking through the file cabinets looking for a damn copy of the test! NickD
  5. Starting Nina for a sunset ride . . . (Vid from my Droid X) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRI0eeEFEPI NickD
  6. Been riding Nina a lot at night lately. It's a nice way to cool off in the wind after a hot day. Went by the bike night at a local dive bar tonight but it was mostly crotch rockets and way too much twenty year old testosterone. I can get that at the DZ, LOL! The girlz wasn't bad though. It's funny how generationaly men get tougher to put up with (as you, yourself, grow older) but the wimins are always pretty much just right! NickD
  7. I'll bet it's a rat trailer . . . LOL! NickD
  8. Have a good Sturgis, my friend! NickD
  9. You seem to know how to type. You do it! LOL NickD
  10. She's doing fine . . . But, I made some changes since the last update. I changed out the barrel (mechanical) type ignition switch for a solid state one. I was having all kinds of problems with the original one. My lights would go out (and during the day I wouldn't know it) and twice the motor cut out until I jiggled the switch. I've had the new one for a few days now and no more problems. I also (like a I mentioned upboard) had to get a new oil tank after cracking the one I had. The new one is smaller so it also solved the heat I was feeling on my thighs while riding. Especially my right leg which was resting right on the oil cap. I've been experimenting with tire pressures to find the best ride. And I settled on 25 pounds in Nina's rear Metzler 880. At that pressure (some guys run a lot lower than that, but I want the tire to stay on the rim, LOL) plus with the tire being a large 200mm it really makes you forget you're riding a hardtail. On the cosmetic side I made some covers to go over the rear axle nuts so that cleaned up nicely. Lastly, I've got a new smaller rear sprocket on order. I have a 51 tooth on Nina now but decided to go with a 48 tooth. This will make the overall gearing taller which at Nina's lighter weight (lighter than a stock bike) will make her perform better. It'll give me more of a first gear (before I have to shift into second) which right now is kind of a granny and lower the RPMs at highway speed. Overall I'm really stoked with Nina. She's a happy girl and I'm a happy boy . . . NickD

  14. When grabbed by the cops for being D&D she said, "Do you know who I am? I’m fucking Snooki!" http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/shore_mayor_laps_up_booze_bust_buzz_ZfmuaZ2GJlcajldYuCFouN Whoa for us Italians. I wish we could go back to being stereotyped as all being in the Mafia? Hell, I'd settle for everyone thinking we really do look like that guy on the pizza box . . . NickD
  15. They become tunnel I's the same way skydivers become AFF I's nowadays. Pay the fee and kiss enough ass . . . NickD
  16. Not really! But Julia and the rest of the team at JPL have been working their butts off day and night running mission simulations (to work out the bugs) and tonight they landed on Mars for the first time without any glitches. Now the only thing to worry about is everything else connected with space flight, LOL . . . But Curiosity is a go! MSL mission page is here: http://marsprogram.jpl.nasa.gov/msl/ Also, if you want your name on Mars on a microchip installed on Curiosity go here and fill out the info! http://marsparticipate.jpl.nasa.gov/msl/participate/sendyourname/ NickD
  17. Nope, that rule was to prevent a pilot/JM from taking up a static line student in a two place airplane. Specifically a Cessna 150. NickD
  18. Saw that a couple days ago. When he pulled out and didn't look to his right I thought that's stupid in an advert pushing something safety related. But just as I was thinking he's probably on a closed road, whamo! Gypsy, when you leaving for Sturgis, end of next week? Keep the knuck out of the burn out pit and say hey to Pee Wee Herman for me, LOL . . . NickD
  19. For the last five years I've been trying to learn to play music, so I can relate to this guys . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOUsbtUrXHk&feature=player_embedded But, holy crap, is right . . . NickD
  20. The first one is Phil Smith, BASE #1 and Phil Mayfield, BASE #2 at the Houston Astrodome. The second one is (I don't recall his name offhand, but I've got it written down somewhere) jumping from the Whispering Gallery at St. Paul's Cathedral in London . . . NickD
  21. Made a jump out of one of those in New Zealand. Well, me and 199 others, LOL . . . You could actually load up 300 skydivers without being crowded. NickD
  22. Well, the show is off for tomorrow! I just came back from having dinner with Mike Pelkey, his wife, and Marah. (Marah is the one restoring all of Carl Boenish's old movies.) And that was great. But when I rolled Nina back into the garage there was oil all over the back of the back of her. I cracked my oil tank. It failed right around one of the mounting bungs on the top. The problem was the tank was so big (4 quarts) I didn't have much clearance all around, and no way could I rubber mount it, and I sucked it up too tight to the mounts to clear the solenoid on the bottom. That's what cracked the tank around the fitting. So more my fault than anything. I just ordered another smaller tank, but no bike show for Nina and me in the morning. But hey, that's show business . . . NickD
