What... your first jump on your new rig doesn't count?

Thank you for the link Blue Skies and good luck if you make it to the competition!

How does one get involved with collegiate skydiving? Do they carry tryouts? Any information would be appreciated.

I Just recently moved very close to the ocean. I know the moist air affects everything around me. Judging from the rust formed on my refrigerator as I moved in... that this is definitely something I need to think about. What precautions should I take for my javelin? Surely there is something I need to keep in mind with my 3 ring system as well as my hip and chest rings? Some helpful advice if anyone has any. Brandon.

Ever jumped in a foreign country ??

I'm new in the sport... however I think it doesn't matter if you dive or not. The majority of our packers at my home DZ do not jump. I would rather have someone who knows their stuff in charge of my life. -
Damn northwest weather!

I would say " time to move to a fair weather state ." -

Congrats! It only gets better from here. -
Yeah, that was Point Break. Full of boloney. I think they were in freefall for about 5 minutes while having jumped from 4000 ft. You're all forgetting the fact... In this movie Keanu had "Never been skydiging," and he could already track properly and fly into formation WisH I had his progression as a student for sure!

How long usually is one's "student progression"?
PlayDough replied to schattenjaeger's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There's the spirit. I received my A liscense less then 2 weeks ago. Being at the DZ at Skydive San Diego... I just feel like a sponge... as I learn from everyone there. We loose the "Student" title once we get our A liscense I believe... but I think we'll always be learning as we go. I do know w/o a doubt each jump is better then the last! Brandon. -
B Liscense aerial performance requirements
PlayDough replied to PlayDough's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm sure it wont be a problem. I know things seem much simpler when we're up there. Not "Over thinking" things out. Just didn't seem like much time. I'll just relax and do what I love -
B Liscense aerial performance requirements
PlayDough replied to PlayDough's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
(1) demonstrated the ability to perform individual maneuvers (left 360, right 360, backloop, left 360, right 360, backloop) in freefall in 18 seconds or less I just looked up the specific requirments... and found this for my B liscense. I expect to have my liscense before these 2 weeks are up. All these maneuvers I have found very easy... and I am very percise with them. However I've just found this requirement and I have not tried to incorporate them in this combination. Do any of you find it hard to do a sequence like this in a specific time frame? I don't think it will be a problem thinking about it... it just seems a short time frame to do these maneuvers. Brandon. -
Hello, Thought I might introduce myself to the community. I found the site seeking my first rig... though I've not found it yet, I have found this site very helpful. With my flight skills progressing... and my desire for the sport increases I'm anxious to start saving money by owning my rig I make it to the DZ planning to do 2 jumps... and end up doing several more. I'm sure there are a few people here who sympathize. The people at Skydive San Diego have really been amazing. If the skydiving community is in anyway a reflection of what I've experienced with the crew here... I'm anxious to meet you all! Brandon.
