Buying gear online can be a real nightmare. (I was burned for 3 grand on E-bay) My advise is keep away from E-bay and stick with this web site. Using a rigger as a go between is a good idea. Document everything and watch out for stolen gear. Good luck! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

I checked it out a few years back with 3M. No risks with using it on your container OR PARACHUTE! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

Tools: wetvac, carpet brush (or fingernail brush), spray bottle of Zep carpet cleaner, jug of distilled water and spray bottle. What to do: Spray rig with carpet cleaner, small sections at a time, brush, vacuum out cleaner, rinse with distilled water and vacuum again extracting as much rinse water as possible. This method will leave you rig looking great. I've tried my own formulas, different commercial products but the Zep carpet cleaner seems to be the best. You can get it at Home Depot. Blue skies...clean rigs!!! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

When I first sit with someone new, I use a interlocking knee exit. It keeps you together long enough to adjust fall rate and conpensate in the other person is backsliding. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

My Stiletto has about 500 jumps. The white areas have turned a dirty gray color. It has about 150 jumps in Los Vegas. The desert really trashed out the white. I'm afraid to wash it for fear of killing whats left of the ZP coating. The white I had on my Heatwave held up real well (200 jumps) I think the South African fabric might be more stable colorwise. Have you seen one of their rigs in person? I bought a "flappette" from them for my Reflex earlier this year. I was really shocked at the poor construction. The piece was not symetrical and the stitching was quite sloppy. I hope their complete rigs are better than the components they sell. If not they will be out of business in no time. "Slow down! Congrats guy! Remember this time when he's 16 and he trashes your car. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

Stable headdown- a helpful hint for beginners.

Great advise! Between you and Pat Works, I hope to eventually develop some consistancy with my HD! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish -
I think the Hornet is one of the best canopies on the market. I owned 2 Heatwaves before jumping a Hornet and now prefer the Hornet for over all for performance and comfort and price. Demo one and you'll buy one! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

I agree, Psycho the Sabre. It really helps tame openings and is a fast and easy way to pack a ZP. Check out PA's website: http://precision.aerodynamics.com/psycho/psysteps.htm Good Luck!! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

I was packing a rig tonight and when I cocked the pilot chute the hacky tore off! On inspection, the loop of material on the hacky had worn through. I would guess there are less than 500 jumps on this pilot chute. Of all the things I check on a rig this is one thing I really have never paid attention to. I have no idea where half of the pilot chutes I've used came from. Has anyone seen a problem like this? "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

Hey Boss...I'm impressed! Great Job! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

I would you recommend you start with a small local boogie at a familiar DZ. Work your way up to the big ones slowly. A national can really be intimidating and dangerous without prior experience. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

I'm blind as a bat. I used contacts for a long time until both blew out on a head down. That was the most frightning landing ever. Now I use and swear by Rx goggles. I have 2 pair, one tinted and one pair clear. They are great. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

In 1968 I bought a complete military (T-10) rig for $90.00. A buddy mine had a family with a Cessna 150. I did statics over their farm as much as possible. If someone did that today they would be in jail... "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

There are just very few real men left in the USA anymore... Why I remember when no man would dye his hair or do other things reserved for the fairer sex. The WHO just recently reported that the USA has the fattest people per capita on earth! (Ohio is the worst) Men are gettin' soft and sissified!! Sperm counts are dropping, guys NEED Viagra. We are a "kinder and gentle nation". Wake up men! It's time reclaim our lives! Reclaim the workplace!Stand up! Speak up! Get women back into the home where they belong, and keep them barefoot and pregnant! And stop paintin' them toenails!!!! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

I pull high, as often as possible. Usually around 4000'. I want time to improve and develop new canopy skills. One of the best swoopers I know will pull at 7000' and higher at times, to work out new techniques. How else do you get time to train under canopy? If traffic, jumper density and the pilot say OK, why not?? "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

I jumped one a few times and hated the openings. I think the canopy is too old from a technological srtandpoint. There are so many better chutes today, I would pass on it. (unless I could get it for a song) "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

OK...Question: If you drop a cat from 12.5, will it still land on it's feet? Do we have a potential "SpaceBall Pussy" here? "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

There is a BIG safety issue here... I suckat freeflying and wouldn't risk it without an expert with me. Make a small slit in a tennis ball and fill it with 14-18 ounces of shot. You gotta play with the weight... 14 oz works for the belly fliers. Tie a pullup cord on a big button and stick it in the ball. Squirt some expanding foam insulation into the ball to lock everything down. Be carefull and fly safe!!! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish

High Performace Canopies LOW JUMP NUMBERS!!!!!

Thank you Sir! I feel a bit chewed up on this topic... (still waiting for the x-fire demo until then, Xaos rules! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish -
I wouldn't suggest full rear stalls on an elliptical. There is a risk of it spinning into a ball of crap. I personally don't even want to do full front stalls. My Xaos might handle it OK, but with my Stiletto or old Heatwave, I would expect problems on recovery. I've stalled a Sabre front & rear without any problems. "Slow down!
