  1. the stupid ones who think torture is ok by the state are the ones i worry about... I am bothered by those who believe it is OK for America to be the victim and not retaliate. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  2. I'm going to stand on your side. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  3. A very thoughtful and positive response. Your POV is very much inline with the AA/NA 12 Step Program. However, in my case I was privately studying my Bible in an attitude of prayer. The Lord gave me the clear understanding of the body as the temple of the Lord. I was forever changed in my thinking processes and instantly delivered from the desire to use. The 12 Step Program is essentially a method for dealing with the recurring cravings. They can last a lifetime for some folks. I have never had a craving since my deliverance. It appears you are successfully dealing with some of your anger. I am working through some issues at this time as well. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 4. I just came back to remove the whole message. I was in the consciousness sphere of another conversation. However, the Gestalt does apply. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  5. You speak from behind the bars of your cage. I have done nothing but post on the internet. Read what I posted above. You do not know my actions and therefore you cannot judge my behavior. I can say anything to get a reaction. Encounter Group Therapy. Do you know the rules? It is a Gestalt, if you will. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 6. What planet are you on, Ron? Your post is as incoherent as your religion... OK, follow closely, you think I saved myself and delivered myself from addictions. If that were true, then I would be very intelligent. If I were that intelligent I could have worked in a lucrative scientific field like you and earned a comparable income. There you go, make sense now? No...none at all. There is no god. You are responsible for your success or failure(why is the concept of personal responsibility lost on so many true believers?) If you have been "saved" from addiction, it is because of your own actions. I do NOT work in a "lucrative scientific field", and I never have. Why do you feel the need to pull so much out of your ass, when the truth is so available to you? Oh you are just full of crap. Why do you feel the need to pull so much out of you butt. You are always harping about science. I have NEVER worked in a "lucrative scientific field" as you just claimed. Your statement is false, like most of what you claim. TRY to make some sense here, Ron. You are just going in circles. Either you can't grasp the conversation or you are just being an ass. Good day. 7. As a Christian I am not responsible for the actions of others, the USG, or you. I am responsible for how I treat others 1:1. That is far different from the realities of a world in war. The problem you, and other non-believers, have is that you cannot grasp the subtleties of faith, beliefs and actions. Study the life of Peter. He is probably the best example. And believe me, he was a Christian and he is with Jesus. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. 9. That is what you want to think. At the time I did not have the motivation to quit. That is why it was deliverance. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

  11. You know, I am really sick of your, and others, propensity to use that immature remark. Read my other posts, different situations require different responses. Get real, we are talking about war. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  12. I fail to see the connection between the USA at war and the Sermon on the Mount. Are you saying you do not have double standards to fit the circumstances and situations? I call it pragmatic determination or natural law and spiritual law. It is what it is. You have made reference to your dislike for financial influence on government. However, it doesn't bother you that BHO was groomed and escalated by homegrown terrorists and racketeers. How about your new mayor? Rahm Emanuel is known to be a hard ass SOB but, I'll wager that you voted for him. Yes? No? It all depends on the situation. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 13. It's all in your head, Ron. No god involved. If that were only true, I could have made as much money as you make. But, no I cannot take personal credit. I can only be thankful. 14. During WWII, there were certainly some atrocities or summary executions committed by Allied soldiers/Marines at the field-of-battle level. But for the most part, once enemy Axis personnel were evac'ed away from the front line into POW holding, they usually fared FAR better than Allied POWs at the hands of Axis captors. The Allies did not run modern-day Andersonvilles; rather, they generally complied with the Geneva Convention, and often then some. A parallel subject-history can be said about the Korean War, too. I think that speaks well for how a nation at war should comport itself, and it speaks volumes. The world was already pretty damned dangerous in the 40's and 50's; I really don't think it is SO much more dangerous today that the moral code embodied in the Geneva Convention should be honored in the breach more today than in the previous generation. I agree with your statement. I simply cannot accept that enhanced interrogation, as I defined it above, is torture. In time of war there are secret activities required to get the job done. They should be kept secret. General population POW's, yes, follow the Geneva Convention. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 15. "An-eye-for-an-eye-for-an-eye-for-an-eye ... ends in making everybody blind" Yeah, war'll do that. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  16. Please provide me some examples of such miraculous acts that can only be attributed to God providing a blessing. Just because something unlikely happens doesn't mean that when it happens it was caused by God. Even something with the slimmest of odds can occur at any point. Though I'd genuinely like to hear of situations that can only happen because of God and not happen in the realms of reality. Me and my salvation and deliverance. I've explained my testimony many times here. Look it up. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. 17. As a Christian, you should know that waterboarding is torture. The church used it, along with the worst of the worst techniques, to force nonbelievers to submit to their delusion. Sadly, when the insane have control, bad things happen. http://www.exposingchristianity.com/Inquisition.html http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=15886834 True, those who have been through this technique say the is not so painful as it is terrifying. So, could it be considered more of an act terror? And if so, would that not make the interrogators terrorist? If an American is fine with America using "Enhanced Interrogation" on prisoners then they should be fine with it when it is done to American prisoner by our enemies. The nature of war is to kill people and break things. I think we should do whatever it takes to win. I believe the enemy will do the same. If the enemy tortures or kills one of ours then I believe we should capture one of theirs and torture them to confess who did it. Then we should go kill the perpetrator. Why do you make this so complicated? We should avoid war and resort to conflict only as a last resort. Once it starts, the enemy should be convinced never to start it with us again. 18. Thank you for your candid reply. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
  19. It is still a viable option. Torture: induce extreme physical pain. Enhanced Interrogation: induce extreme fear, harassment, sleep deprivation, etc. IMHO. 20. During your period as a born-again, Spirit-filled Pentecostal Christian, did you ever experience an unmerited blessing so great that it could only be accounted for as from God? If yes, how did you turn your back on your belief? If no, then you have nothing to hold on to. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 21. Let's discuss His "first disciples" My research reveals the lot of them to be common men. Fisherman and farmers . Not a physician in the bunch. Further they were lazy men living of the notoriety of the Christ, kind of a parrallel to todays entourages who follow around Snoop Doggy Dog or Fifty Cent . When their patron was arrested most of them went into hiding and were not present at the cruci fiction. There is not one Biblical account of anyone checking for a pulse when Jesus was removed from the cross? Could it be that he was still alive? Could it be that he never died on the cross? I hope this discusion brings you closer to Peace,Understanding,Wisdom and Enlightenment , Ron. Peace, Jim B Your response has accomplished that in great measure for me. 23. Far from it, You have heard of the national prayer breakfast? they are ones who put it on every year. They are ultra conservatives members of congress and the senate who live together in a condo on C street in DC. The whole focus is on extreme Christianity and they also have close ties to Uganda and the effort to execute or imprison gays for life. The news is not so much what Uganda is doing, it's what some Christians with political ties in the US have done to help them. Check it out for yourself. I can find reference to C-Street and The Family. However, attempting to connect the dots from that organization to Uganda's killing of homosexuals is difficult at best. No reputable news source reports the C-Street Ministry supporting extermination legislation. Rachel Maddow mentioned it as a closing remark for sensationalism following her interview with Jeff Sharlet and, that was 10 Dec 09. The term "beating a dead horse comes to mind." 24. American Christian would never supports such an act. Oh wait a minute, they do. Not only support it, they are in fact also behind it. If anyone knows about C-street and the "Family" they are the group that puts on the national prayed breakfast and have helped the Ugandans with this law. http://www.examiner.com/progressive-in-portland/c-street-politics-the-family-sponsors-death-for-homosexuals-uganda Please don't paint me with that broad brush. I never heard of the C-Street Politics. They must in the weeds with the Westboro Baptist Church. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit.
