  1. Read Ritchard Clarkes' 'Scorpions gate'.
  2. Help me understand why there seems to be no accountability for the actions that have cost lives and produced so little result.
  3. Quick somebody photoshop this. BB would look great rodeo. Perhaps a creeper mounted underneath for a smooth landing. Parachutist cover material if ever there was.
  4. Surfing and deep sea fishing last week in Kauwai. Both firsts, had a blast!
  5. I have manny, manny layers of sheet in my head at all times.
  6. Tears, yea, and celebration. Remembering that the extraordinary event which cost Chris his life, was a fantastic display of self reliance and a drive to push the envelope of flight. Remember the day before, Chris made documented history, docking in his wingsuit, with the same canopy. That was an awesome and beautilful milestone for winged flight.
  7. Ain't nothing but a thing, bro. "Imagine"
  8. My short brother, remembered always, not just this day. I am still amazed at Chris' ease with new freinds. He was so willing and able to accept all comers as freinds and fellow travelers in this diverse realm we call life. Chris was about knowing you, not you knowing him. A model for me, for sure.
  9. I need a coach for sure. But we need a name change. How about........Scarryahlohappuucuthefuckmeintheskyaccappuualoha? Meet me at mgskyflyer's home dz. I 'll buy the first three flocks.
  10. I'm going to Kaua'i Nov 2 thru 11. Any wingsuit locals?
  11. Not so sure jets are needed. I made a flight last year, with an 85 knott tailwind, best calculation from aircraft pilot monitoring distance and time guessed a ground speed around 250-260 mph. This in a SI, built for forward speed. Today's gps flyers probably can verify close to the 300 mph mark, given the upper wind conditions.
  12. Didn't make me laugh, but I recognize it for the so called comedy skit it is. Not mainstream, not like The Smother Brothers of 1969, axed for being truly relevant. Like the Bishop rialed about the 'DiVinci Code' had to be reminded that the book is in the 'fiction' section of the library.
  13. When you youngsters grow up you will realize that there is much more to loving and living within a solid relationship than just the crude sexal context which permiates our selfish society today. You will learn to appeciate the soulfull committment required to bind two persons forever in blissfull monogomy. And you will be boared to tears. 'Wanna Fuck'? Just kidding. Get it while you can and enjoy, that's what it's there for. And, it is nice to share.
  14. Anybody know Larry Stien,(not sure of last name), from Chicago area. May have left a nice cloth packing mat in Eloy Oct 15,'05. Nice mat, Thanks Larry. Just kidding, holding for your return Feb, '06. Mark
  15. Does this remind anybody of a silly, slightly, bungeled burgalary attempt in a famous hotel called The Watergate. This bungeled burgalary became a non-issue when greater schemes and treacheries were exsposed. ???????????????????????????????????????????
  16. Hoping your skills camp includes classroom time, or at very least campfire or bar time. Lots of questions. I'm hoping to make friday and saturday. My first concern is exit-spatial awareness. If i flail my exit, by the time I've recovered, I can't find or catch the flock. The skyvan seems to be particulary troublesome for me. Perhaps only experience will solve this, but any tips will be more than welcome. Your last advise regarding barrel rolls worked to a tee. I suspect that rw wingsuit is also a matter of experience and patience. Looking forward to flights. Mark PM
  17. How crazy would a Mr. Bill be with a canopy pilot supporting a wingsuited flyer until launch. Like the X-15 launch. Perhaps with a stack below to be target for the wingsuit. Did I say 'target'. Opps. Brings to mind lawn darts. I foresee many practice jumps to calculate the drop before wing inflation and flight trajectory calcs. Any takers?
  18. Just saw on the History Channel, Modern Marvels, .... Technology revolutionizes the sport industry. The last twenty minutes of this one hour show, features skyboards and wingsuits. Aired in Tucson at 1:00 p.m., and scheduled to air again at 7:00 p.m. (Mountain std time, currently same as pacific std time).
  19. I'm not giving up my hat to anyone. God told me to wear it and I think it was ordained in one of those holy books. Booga-booga. Peace earthlings.
  20. Are you meaning to inply that a damn bunch of folk from all over and under, just came together and had fun! What would the Arvin Boys and the couch freaks think of that! Good on all you'all! More pics and stories, please, for us dreaming of being there. HIGH SPEED EXIT: I for one would welcome some ground school brief with video. I've done a couple and love the hell out them, but could use some more education. Hybrid wingsuit dives: Please explain and expound on the possibilities. Thanks
  21. cheese and rice bill. We're just talking here. Why can't you be more posistive. Nobody knows better than I that my best buds are dead. But I still don't like Rumsfield telling me that I have to go with I got. Bill Rumsfield? Wait, that can't be. I have to accecpt and deal with reality, but I don't have to promote the negative. Or tell anyone else that this is the best they can expect. I like Duece's 'start in your own back yard' approach. It's a positive mind set that just might enhance our sport. And yea, it's been talked and talked about to infinity, keep it up!!!!!!
  22. Tom, I'm a realist and an existenialist also. But hey, the positive forecast must surely be better than the negative. I've already appoligized to Bill and i extend the same to you for being harsh. Please appreciate that my intent is for positive goals. i.e., if one (1) live is saved, then our silly little dropzone.com talk is worth it. What if 5 or 6 lives don't waste because somebody was inspired to do a pin check or talk a downsizer out of 'going for it'. I'm really just a simple minded weekend jumper, tired of hearing about mishaps that could and should have been avoided. ****** FATALITIES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE ****** Just that, Tom, don't read anything else into it. Just help our community as best you can. Thanks. Mark
  23. Perhaps head hancho could start a thread, demanding only 'positive' input.
