  1. If you could get 'Bannon runs Trump. Trump is a weakling' to trend on twitter, I bet you $50 that the president would take that more seriously than anything he's being told by his cabinet...
  2. Explain why you believe it's funny that the Trump administration wants to no longer care about White Supremacist groups. Seriously. That is a mentally unstable position (his not yours, I assume you think this is just funny without even thinking about it). What I think is funny is you believing all anti-trump bs you find on the internet OK - let's turn it hypothetical. IF this was a real quote, would you be OK with it?
  3. Unfortunately, as long as it doesn't specifically break the law I think they can. And pandering to the majority is a great way of staying in power... Trump has made his career on pushing stuff right to the bending point of the law or beyond it and then bullying his way past any reprisals. Why anyone expects him to do anything differently now he has the ultimate power is beyond me.
  4. All I'm saying is that if you clamp down on everyone from a particular country or religion then say 'but don't vet people 5 years or under (or vet them a lot less because they CAN'T be a terrorist!)', then if I were a terrorist I'd be training children... The original post feels like an appeal to emotions and law should be apart from that. If he met the requirements for entry he shouldn't have been detained. Fair enough. If he didn't then he should have, and people shouldn't complain about it. I am totally on the side of everyone who says that the EO is badly thought out, possibly unconstitutional and full of holes in the execution. That isn't my disagreement. Just that 'but think of the children' is weak argument. We should be able to do better.
  5. While I agree the way it was handled was poor, IF he's going to do this lockdown thing it'll be general exceptions that make it completely unworkable. Either someone meets the specific critera for entrance or they don't - it can't be a 'except this type of guy, and that sort of guy, and those ages of people'. I'm already irritated that apparently UK citizens with dual nationality are exempt. That just passes the buck on background checks over to the UK. Generalized exceptions are bad news. If 5 year olds were written as exempt to checks you can bet your right testicle that terrorists would start grooming young children to deliver for them. The policy needs to be well thought out and then enforced properly. This current boondoggle is a joke.
  6. According to Amazon their sales of it have gone up 9,500% since Trump's inauguration. That's not a typo. Nine THOUSAND percent. I love the book and have several copies, some even annotated. Did you know that since it's release it's NEVER gone out of print?
  7. You're misunderstanding the core principal of the book. The totalitarian state / fight against opression is the subplot. It's more of a playbook on mass manipulation - constantly stating the 'facts' as you want them to be seen, limiting access to other sources of information etc. It's a work of genius. I'll give Trump this; he's a natural at it.
  8. Saying that you think stating something is dangerous is one thing. Effectively enforcing a gag order to prevent the dissemination of something that you don't like are two completely different things. What happened to freedom of speech? Apparently it's one of the first things on your President's list to go. Heil Trump!

  10. Why do I suspect that you're less concerned about reduced energy prices and more that it'll make you some money in a more direct way? What stake do you have in the industry?
  11. Precisely why people shouldn't be allowed on things about which they have no understanding. Universal democracy is great n'all, but this is the price.
  12. Is that your final solution to the problem? The problem of Trump being elected? Pretty much. It's done. There are all sorts of problems that can be actually be addressed - the voting system, various policies when Trump is in office. But smashing windows and handing out pot and continuing to complain about the results in November isn't being part of any solution - it's just whinging and feeling sorry for yourself. 'Ask what you can do for your country' and all that.
  13. Suck it up, America. You might not like the results of the election but the protests and whining helps in no way. Deal with the loss and move on. Do your best to help the country through Trump's presidency - for better or worse. Don't become part of the problem.
  14. Which makes him a cretinous weasel. On top of being a coward for running away.
  15. Pink Floyd - Money Money, get away Get a good job with more pay and you're O.K. Money, it's a gas Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash New car, caviar, four star daydream, Think I'll buy me a football team Money, get back I'm all right, Jack, keep your hands off of my stack. Money, it's a hit Don't give me that do goody good bullshit I'm in the hi-fidelity first class traveling set And I think I need a Lear jet
  16. What a fucking surprise... Assange is not a good guy. He's a cowardly weasel and deserves no sympathy or clemency.
  17. Snitches get stitches... Unless they get a presidential pardon apparently. I think Obama's got this one badly wrong.
  18. This same CBO was wrong about Obamacare. Regardless. Whatever we end up with will be better than what we have. Please define 'better'. Because I suspect you mean 'better for me'.
  19. Well, I'm sure there will be lots of lucrative contracts given to Trump's associates in the construction industry. Whether they will build anything remains to be seen. Like I said when he was a candidate, if he gets elected and starts building this wall I'm going to get in on that project because it'll be a boondoggle of such spectacular size that I'll be able retire from it. Monthly consultancy fees from an out-of-control public works project? Yes please.
  20. I'm not convinced Trump is Obama's fault. I think it's the Democratic party's fault for putting forward Clinton but how much he has to do with that I'm not sure. I suspect that Hillary was only nominated because she's go so much leverage on numerous members of the democratic party that they were forced to give her a turn, rather than her being the best candidate. THAT was the issue... they put forward someone so inherently unlikable that they torpedoed their own chances without even considering the fact that they might lose. Hubris, etc.
  21. Good on Mr Trump - he actually tweeted (his official method of communication I guess) that Congress should have more important things to do, and sure enough they've retracted that position - at least some of it has to be do with not wanting to fight their new President from day 1. That said, it's a really worrying indication of not only the priorities but also the ethics of the Republican party. I hope Trump can reign them in as much as they reign him in...
  22. He's not technically incorrect. Any cypher can be broken, but we all know that the real weakness is in the people in the system - either by poor programming or by poor security procedures.
  23. I should really learn to read the author of new posts before I click on them...
  24. Because if it can happen once, it can happen again and with even worse consequences. Regardless no matter what you believe about candidate A vs B, this issue should transcend that. And the issue is? Please provide your evidense. Cause nobody else can... Evidence is history. 4 times now people have won the presidential nomination without the support of the majority of the population. That's the evidence. You might not find it an issue, but I do. And our opinions are worth exactly the same.
