“Fox News host Pete Hegseth has confessed on air that he has not washed his hands for 10 years because "germs are not a real thing". Speaking on Fox and Friends, Mr Hegseth said the infectious micro-organisms did not exist because they could not be seen with the naked eye.” https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-47201923 Sigh. I just. Can’t.

I disagree with the ability to have inline GIFs - at least in any forum except The Bonfire. They make for lazy forum posts.

Yeah. Because you’re HUGE on apologizing when you’re wrong.

He stated about a week ago that he would be away for a while because ‘his clan was having a big meeting to discuss how to respond to the current crisis’, or some other such scariness.

Having a ‘hover over to access’ functionality on a site that has been designed with mobile users in mind is a bit of a mistake. How do you hover when using a touchscreen?
-
I don’t. I think you’ve been explaining your position poorly and it’s become confusing.

I’m actually with Bill on this one. I’m so confused by this conversation that maybe we need to rethink how we present what it s obviously a fairly esoteric argument. Either way we’re miles from the original post. Regardless, I don’t think the American dream is dead. I, an immigrant, have come to America, started a business, am being relatively successful, have found a wife, bought a home and had a baby. What is that if not the American Dream? It’s easy to get all pessimistic given the current state of politics but I do think that we’re not far from being fantastic. IMO we’re taking steps away from that at the moment but the momentum America has is enourmous. One presidency isn’t going to annihalate that. That said, we have started considering options if the trend keeps going in 2020 and 2024. New Zealand is looking good.

How many times will Trump blame the Democrats in his upcoming speech later today before he enacts emergency funding? I’m saying 4.

I agree. The quote box needs more definition. And it would be nice to tidy up all the stickies into a single ‘rules’ sticky to avoid having to scroll past them every time. How do I hide posts from rush?

Because we don’t test jet engines and windscreens by firing drones into them, so they represent a much more unknown threat? Because it’s more likely a drone is being operated around an airport with a deliberate malign intent than a bird?

The irony is that these all seem to fall into the Level 100 of ‘Fear’ level of consciousness measurements espoused by Ron in other threads.
-
Yeah, but what would you know? I bet you don't even score 100 on the Hawkins Consciousness Scale I’d barely hit double digits.

It includes 100% of things that happen in this particular plane of reality. For me that’s as inclusive as it needs to be. If you choose to base your opinions of things that are happening here on a completely different version of spacetime then no wonder you’re going to come up with some wacky answers.
-
Absolutely. It’s lesson 101 for conmen - stay away from facts and appeal to emotion. It worked. Out of interest have you ever been conned before, in a non-political arena? Your new stance on cause preceding effect somehow being a negative position is BY FAR the most batshit crazy thing you’ve posted in a while. And you’ve had some proper humdingers. Nothing I post will have any chance of resonating with you in that case, nor will most other posters I suspect, because we live in this reality and not a fictional one.

Which didn't bother them at all the first time around. Seems a touch self serving to use it as an excuse now It was enough for them to claim victory. And frankly whatever the margin is (and I think it would be more than that) at least they'd be moaning while we move forward with more stability, security and economic success than we would if we plow ahead with Brexit regardless (even May's own governent says so). My brother works for YouGov and their unofficial polls before Christmas suggest it’s closer to a 30-70 split in favor of staying now, but of course the government can’t request an official poll now lest it’s seen as a second referendum.... [Q]!

Absolutely. And they’ve admitted as much in the past. It’s stopped being politics and has become tribalism. If my opponent is for it then I HAVE to be against it... whatever IT might be. What’s worse for us as a country is that that type of emotional tribalism is much, much easier to sell while you’re on stage than actual politics and policy. That’s why we’re seeing a continual polarization of the two political parties as they concentrate more on demonizing the enemy than on actually coming up with solutions.

Remaining in determination for cause and effect binds and restricts you to the linear thinking pattern of the physical plain. David R Hawkins, MD, PhD defines this process as having a consciousness level below 200. He has written extensively on expanding consciousness and transcending the levels in order to rise above 200 and beyond. I encourage you to focus on process instead of cause and effect. Fortunately for those of us that live on the physical plane effect DOES follow cause. Time being linear and all that. If you’re right and there IS an afterlife and in that afterlife there is non-linear time then my thoughts will change, but right now you’re listening to claptrap that simply doesn’t apply to this reality. Give me a single widely accepted physical example in this plane of existence of cause following effect and I’ll rethink.

No it wasn’t. It was basically an opinion poll with no required consequences. Current polls show that the result would go the other way by a large margin, in part because a lot of the very old folks who voted for an exit (because like you they believe simply that foreign=bad) are dead now.

FWIW, so far this shutdown has cost my company about $70,000 in 2019. We were slated to start work on a project in Missouri at the start of this year, had all the contracts agreed, but the client can’t get final go-ahead because the guy who needs to sign off the completed and approved Environmental Impact Assessment isn’t at his desk die to the shutdown. $70k isn’t much for a big company, but for a small consultancy it’s playing havoc with our cash flow and utilization. Should I put those people on other projects? What if the shutdown ends next week and I can’t resource this client? Etc etc. Trump. Great for small American business.

You know this but you still let him post here...

Hey, remember when the Democrats had a temper tantrum sit down in the House of Representatives? An eye for an eye, then? And here I thought you were talking about negotiating? While it’s true that if one side only says ‘no’ then there’s no negotiation it’s ALSO true that if the other side only says ‘my way or nothing’ they take most of the blame. I say ‘give me all your guns’ You say ‘no!’ And then people say ‘Ron’s just not willing to negotiate. Yoink is making him look foolish.’ You wouldn’t think that’s a fair statement, would you?

They said in the above article (or I read it elsewhere) that it was limited to those who didn't provide it voluntarily. That still doesn't speak to whether it was only employees or also visitors, contractors, vendors or direct family members. ‘It’s only mandatory if you don’t do it voluntarily’? Yeah. That seems legit.

What's the point of his testimony? Seems like dog and pony show theatrics to me. If I was Pelosi I would leave the investigative stuff to Mueller and focus on passing legislation that the people want. I agree
-
Hip Hop Crisy, excellent Marc. You've outdone yourself as the champion with that one. Can't refute it can you... I DID refute it. With an argument that explains that a background investigation of a single individual based is not the same as wholesale constitutional personal violations. But you ignored all that and went straight to ‘hiphopcrasy’... because you’re a Troll. And somehow I’M the one in trouble despite you CONTINUALLY not making any points of substance. Bill, your ‘don’t read what the troll posts’ answer always has been, and always will be, total bullshit. I’m rapidly approaching the point where it’s not worth posting here.

I agree. Welcome to the brave now world. Guilty until proven innocent. Wow! What a juxtaposition. you guys don't say this one when it's some Republicans who has gotten in trouble with no evidence! hYour boyfriend is the subject of an investigation but has not has his constitutional rights violated. If his lawyers thought for a second they had been it would have been a talking point way before now. That's the way law works. Try reading up on it. This however, is DEFINITELY a bunch of innocent people being forced top provide the only thing in the world that identifies them as them against their will. It's a completely different scenario... but you don't care about that, because you're a troll, and everything comes down to sucking off Donald Trump and scoring meaning less internet points. Do us all a favor and keep your political comments to the appropriate threads or fuck off.
