I don't know about you, but I had a great Thanksiving!
yoink replied to oldwomanc6's topic in The Bonfire
4 days with the future in-laws, with the wedding being planned for Feb. Mucho drama. Soooo glad to be home. -
Who cares, other than you? You've been told anything with hooks and soft soles is a bad idea idea... if you choose to do it, fine. So what? However, if you keep making a deal about it - how cool or innovative you are, you'll rapidly start becoming 'that guy' at the DZ. Believe me, you don't want that.

Sweet - Pre-existing conditions are not all covered

I'm a secret conservative -
Some of the 8 bucks should be saved for a bottle of wine, some of which should be saved for the mussels. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeesh! I was including the bottle of wine in the ingredients for the mussels.

I don't know the wording of the law, so I'm going from what you've said. "a law that allows all pre-existing conditions" To me, that's what it's doing. It doesn't say that all preexisting conditions will cost the same, and it shouldn't. And my initial point was that you have no interest in the application, or about what's right and wrong. You're simply doing a point-scoring exercise regardless of what you believe is right - and therin is the irony. You're being as political and obfuscative as the politicians you're pointing fingers at. If you were genuinely 'right-wing', 'anti-liberal' or whatever else seems to define you, you'd be saying 'They've not gone far enough! It's a drop in the ocean! See? I told you it was a stupid law!" That you don't like the people, the parties or even the law is colouring what you seem to think about the content... -

I ask again - is it the right thing to do? -

I'm assuming you don't smoke, Turtle? If that's the case, just so I'm clear, you'd be fine with paying higher premiums to cover the guaranteed health problems that comes with those who do, yes? Or no? You actually think this is the right thing to do but are engaging in your continual infantile and pointless political point scoring. 'Ha! SEE! The thousand page document doesn't exactly line up with the 4 second sound bite used to describe it! I caught them! see? See, mum? see?'... I'm happy that smokers can get health coverage. I think it should absolutely cost them more. The same with people who have liver problems but continue to drink, or who take drugs, or who are obese and don't try to do anything about it. -
They'll pick it right back up in 6 months just where they left off, but 6 billion dollars better off. Bet ya.

Home cooked mussels in a white wine sauce with fresh bread. No more than 12 bucks, leaving 8 for candles and flowers and it's a ridiculously simple but impressive dish AND you've got wine in the deal.

Very interesting : Why we don't see things when we drive.

and for the cyclists out there... this is how much truck drivers DON'T see... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzL0Kyk4m-8&feature=youtu.be -
So I have a question: Do you really believe this is unique to the party you don't like, or do you have the honesty to admit that every party says 'no to handouts' while getting ever increasing donations... and you're cherry picking examples to try score some sort of ridiculous points? Hippocrasy is the coin in trade for every politician.

RELAX. 5000ft is high!

Yeah, those line twists at 3 grand are a bitch! You know we should probably train people to deal with shit like that!

As a general rule there's no good reason for a student to wear a full face, but there are a number of potential issues if they do - so the 'no full face' rule became widespread. Instead of trying to change it, try and work around it. It's only for 20 jumps or so...

Jesus!

Or put a spring loaded set of swing wings under the deck - go off the edge then extend the wings and all of a sudden you're Yves Rossy!

And therin is the problem with the entire government... people do things because they want to be reelected, not because it's right or best to do so.

Rather more excitement than I'd planned this weekend!
yoink replied to PixieUK's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You can choose not to buy beer, but if you do that you'd better not be drinking other peoples fines... That's just being a twat. If you honestly believe that then you don't understand the point of a beer fine. Alternatively he's saying he likes beer and ignores the rule, buying more cases even if he could get away with less? In that case he's a hero. -

I would like to point out that you don't need to be personally familiar with the situation or the person to be qualified to form an opinion with the evidence shown. That said, only idiots would try and defend his actions, and only small people would keep bringing it back up. People need to move on. The guy can either suck it up, and try to regain some of the trust he's lost over time, or quit. If people choose not to jump with him, or have him at their events, well, that's the consequence of his actions.

YUP! http://youtu.be/oDDKLGv31vs?t=2m1s The wingspan looks wider than the runway from that altitude! http://youtu.be/-yi9C8NE3Ek Yup! I'd forgotten how much I consider You Tuber commenters to be the bottom feeders of the internet.

Nope. Air resistance will stop horizontal motion.

Start a poll on it. From what I saw, you were the ONLY person advocating it. Regarding this thread, the poll options suck so I didn't vote.: Belly, Big to small. Freefliers. Big to small. It's not rocket science.

Congrats!
