none taken, least you have let the truth be known about us
-
yes we all have bad teeth
-
in the uk i believe it is 200 jumps.
-
i'm not sure, if it's a USPA affiliated dropzone then surely you do?
-
They're fine, why would you think otherwise? Surely if anything they're better since lie more flush to the bottom of the container; i'm sure there are other pros and cons too Just my thoughts, i'm sure somone will correct me

The safire2 opens a little slower than a sabre2, but in my experience both open very softly anyway! (almost 1000ft openings on both). I find the the safire2 is less 'searchy' on opening, but I've never had problems with my sabre2 either...so far Both canopies flare and land nicely (although require different 'styles' of flare), but I prefer the flare characteristics of the sabre2 more. Unfortunately I've never had a chance to jump a Pilot but I've also heard good reports about it so best not disregard that option

Custom made harness/containers??? / need advice
spoons replied to Zydrius's topic in Gear and Rigging
that is not a good fit...are the laterals way too long? -
In the UK the certificates are: ‘A’ Certificate - Category 8 & Canopy Handling Grade 1 (CH1) ‘B’ Certificate - FAI ‘A’ Certificate, 50 descents and at least Canopy Handling Grade 2 (CH2) and Jump Master Grade 1 (JM1). ‘C’ Certificate - FAI ‘B’ Certificate, 200 descents and at least one further ‘Grade 1'. ‘D’ Certificate - FAI ‘C’ Certificate, and 1000 descents. As taken from the BPA site

Mine seems fairly accurate with speeds and so far hasn't crashed. As katzurki said - what software version do you have? (version 2.6.0 is the current one).

Bit of a mistype in the original post - actually meant to be: http://clubs.db.erau.edu/skydive/neptune.htm

The BPA require you to have your B licence and the CCI's approval to jump a full face helmet.
-
All so tempting! Only need to get the money together now

If it wasn't for the great response I've had, I would actually care about the hi-jack
-
I got it off the BPA website - just here under Form F235 - Guidelines for Jumping a Wing-Suit. Also attached

I am more than happy go to the states for a week or two to clock up some wingsuit jumps - I was just wondering if anyone over there would actually coach me?! It'll end up i'll have done 250-ish jumps in about 3-ish years wish isn't too bad by UK standards...but not exactly current by US standards - you guys do that in a weekend!

After some thought, and great tracking dives, I really would like to get into wingsuit flying. Wouldn't be able to do this until next easter or so (so would have another 50 or so jumps), but I was wondering if there is anywhere that I could jump a wingsuit. Being a UK jumper the only way for me to jump a wingsuit in the UK would be under the grandfathering method as outlined in the BPA recommendations: "Grandfathering – Any jumper that does not meet the requirements to jump a wing suit but can demonstrate (I.e. Video/logbook entries) they have done so safely after instruction from an wing suit instructor abroad, may continue to do so." So my question is, where 'abroad' would I be able to jump a wingsuit (if anywhere)? Also, it was stated in the UK skydiving mag that the S-fly Access has a 200 jump limit on it...is the Phoenix Prodigy similar? Does it have the same limit? Anyone know?
-
I was wondering if anyone else had experience of an access suit? Is it any good?
-
I had a sabre 170 for about 50 jumps and found it opened firmly. Now i have a sabre2 135 - I find the sabre2 much slower on opening and a lot nicer on my back, but it does search a lot...as long as you're straight in the harness it's fine I've also jumped a safire2 and i would have to say it probably opens even slower than a sabre2...
-
I already do swoop, so i can land my canopy fine whilst swooping - i don't see the difference apart from the canopy size and wing loading.
-
lol, i give up - wish i'd never even started! didn't want to go elliptical for ages and ages yet - not until i'm loading over 1.6. ah the dreams anyway, now i'm off to the pub...earlier was false alarm

got a bit worked up I know i took the comments a little personally, but didn't tonto as well? The mere thought i might be saying a slightly bad word against a safire. I was only trying to help someone by sharing my experience. I am aware of where the flare is on my safire and also of that on a sabre2. I never said the safire had 'no flare'...only that I found the sabre2 had more. Maybe it's better suited to my flying style, but after 100 jumps (yes oh so few

The thread title may not mention a sabre2 but most people don't type their entire post in the title and try to leave the majority for the main body. My reason for comparing the safire2 to a sabre2 is quite obvious really - i've jumped them both and bigway currently jumps a sabre2. Surely comparing the safire2 to something he already owns make things quite a bit easier to comprehend? From your earlier post you presume I'm a 'PD jumper'. For the last 100 jumps I've jumped a Safire so I certainly don't fit this label I'm glad you like your safire so much that you feel the need to react to a new comer (to posting) on the forums like this. I should have learnt from my past experience, posting on these forums, that expressing any opinion on any matter generally results in a response similar to yours. I've learnt my lesson...I must be a terrible skydiver and my canopy piloting skills are atrocious - there is no feasible way that a sabre2 could possibly have more lift than a safire... I must be wrong. I'll just take a step back and not share my opinion or limited experience; until I too have thousands of jumps, infinite knowledge and most importantly...always right Alan.

I swoop my safire and yes i do use all the toggle stroke that it has in my landing and no it doesn't have that extra little bit of power to pop up at the end of a swoop like a sabre2 does. Just my opinion but please don't instantly become aggressive when i say that i find one canopy better for me than the other!
