My aunt who is in her mid 50s wears one and she gave me the one that I (25) wear. My mother who is 52 wants one and seeing as how her birthday (and mother's day) is coming up she will probably be getting one. My cousin who is 16 also has one. Another friend of mine (20) also wears one {hers has skydiving charms, which I think that her mother got from the Drop Shop}. I've actually worn mine everyday since I got it and it doesn't have many charms. Just my initials, birthstone, an angel, a cross, a soccer ball, a dragonfly (but my mom thought it was the jump plane), a shooting star, a moon with stars and a daisy. And I recently went on 2 job interviews and I wore it to both of them as well. I think that it says a little bit about me and is still a nice piece of jewelry. They can be very nice and you don't have to make them like something a 17 year old would wear. kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown"

OK Maggots, Listen up. World Record Holder Speaking...

I caught the segment this morning. It was good. TK did a good job talking to the anchors and made a reference to a big way being like 140 nascar racers holding hands. It was funny. They also showed video of break off and it looked good. The anchor (Lester?) did say something about him not being brave to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. I thought that overall it was good. Good luck! kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown" -

Betty Ann, I have considered going back on the radio myself. But, it was Scott Miller's course that got my flare timing down right. He can analyze it all by video. So, he will help with that. But, in the mean time radio is always an option. Good luck and hopefully I will see you tomorrow at CK. kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown"

Seeing as May 1 is just a week after the opener, it should be good and packed! I will be there, with a bunch of people who are going to do tandems. I would venture to say that lots of other people will be there as well. I can't wait for the season to start! Wooo! kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown"

how many of yall have intentionally stalled a canopy
kris12 replied to TribalTalon's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've intentionally stalled my canopy 4 times. Twice after buying it and learning it and twice for part of Scott Miller's canopy course. (I personally will only do it up high >3500.) Just my $0.02 kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown" -

O+. I used to donate (have given a whole gallon), but my iron is usually too low to donate. And, I have passed out once and almost another time. If everything was okay, I would donate on a regular basis. kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown"

I've recently seen a bunch of operas and of all of them La Traviata is by far my favorite one. It's just really good. Have you ever seen Pretty Woman? La Traviata is the opera they see when they fly to San Francisco(?). Enjoy it! kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown"

The weather should be much nicer in about a month at Cross Keys. It's been in the upper 40s lately... So, by the 24/25 of April, it should be warm enough to jump... comfortably. kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown"

What was your most proud skydive day
kris12 replied to cocheese's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
1. A 3 point 9 way with the older RW guys and girls, who let me in on their dive and made it all about me. Damn, but that was a good jump! 2. A friend took me head down and while that was cool in itself, I held a pretty stable sit and he was head down and docked on my knee. But, for me the coolest part was after the jump was over (and I stood up the landing) when he told me that I flew well. That was a huge compliment which still means a lot to me. Another damn fine jump! kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown" -
Have your relatives come to see you skydive?
kris12 replied to Vertifly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
A bunch of my relatives have come to see me and my sister skydive. Mom comes out with our grandfather who likes seeing the planes take off and land in addition to the skydivers. Neither of them will ever jump. Dad (who also brings the grandfather along) has made a tandem and AFF 1. He also has a biplane ride waiting on him and a helicopter ride, which my sister and I will be jumping out of. Younger brother has made one tandem and will be returning (with friends) to make another skydive when our youngest brother makes his first tandem (he's turning 18 on Saturday). In addition, some other relatives (cousins) and close family friends will be that same day to make their first tandems. Or, so they say (but my brothers will definitely be there). kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown" -
Early 90s Smashing Pumpkins. The only time I saw them was in 2000, shortly before they broke up and with Melissa auf der Maur (not D'arcy). At least I got to see them once.... actually saw Zwan twice, but it's not the same. kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown"

Hey - I didn't say there was anything wrong with North Jersey! kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown"

I can say for certain that I am not related to any relatives in more than one way. And I do not, nor have I ever, lived on a farm with animals. All right, I'll give you that one... kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown"

What is wrong with New Jersey natives? People from South Jersey are very different from North Jersey! And, for the record - There's nothing wrong with New Jersey! Is it obvious that I am a South Jersey native? kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown"

dgm - Write to Karen at Karen@SSKinc.com and she will send you a manual (which includes the Cypres card). That's what I did, because I bought my Cypres used as well. But, like everyone else said have the TSA letter from the USPA, and your USPA crad. Good luck and have a nice trip! kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown" -
Works well when the winds are higher than you are willing to jump in (or if it's just too cold) and you're asked why aren't you jumping. I like using some form of that line. kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown"
