If there is any blistering at all you can go to the DR or a walk in clinic to get this silvadine stuff, perscription only. Works wonders....but try to get it as soon as you can. It works much better than any aloe or anything else. Silvadene is GREAT stuff...I'd forgotten all about that! She might feel a bit conspicuous walking around with grey stuff all over her face, though... i have a few small blisters not too bad at all... and mike, come on...it's me.... you think i would feel conspicuous think of the stories...

Well, basicly I was drinking bubbles funshine (which is dangerous by itself), and someone started asking me about caving, and what type of light I use. I use something called carbide, which is calcium carbonate mixed with water which produces acetelyne gas. Then a spark is taken, and the gas lights up in a controlled area. Well, me being a drunk idiot that i was, had 2 pounds of carbide in my car. I take a cup, and pour a LOT of carbide in a cup, then take water pour it in, and someone hands me a lighter, which i use to light the cup, and i made about a 3 to 4 foot flame which burnt my face. Probably smart you didn't ask what i did Mike. You really didn't want to know But i learned from this... bubbles funshine is way too dangerous to drink sometimes.... Okay so during a drunken bad idea, I accidently burnt my face up. Mostly first degree burns, a few minor 2nd degree burns. I was just wondering, does anyone know how to get the burns to 'heal' faster? Just curious. I had my nickname before I even went to the dropzone. OUCH!!!! I know when I broke mine, it was just great that people actually came and visited, and cheered me up. It really was great. As for recovery... ...since it's not a joint, he should heal fine, just tell him to push himself to his limits once he can start doing PT again. He'll heal quickly I'm sure. 4 months... well i would have gone back earlier, but i had to wait for the torn aorta to be fixed... ...i didn't have too many problems once i started PT (1 1/2 months after the injury), but I really pushed myself. At first I was doing ALL the exercises religiously 3 times a day (as suggested by my therapist). Then when I could I started walking every day, sometimes twice a day. Even if it was just walking 1 house away, then back to my house. Eventually I started walking 1/2 a street, then 1/2 block, etc... I just pushed my leg to the limit within the limit of course. The main problems i had in the beginning was the movement. I had so little movement in my leg since it was sitting in one position for so long, that getting it to bend took a lot of time. Basicly, I do a cardio vascular workout every day I go to work (we have a free gym at work). That's 9 times in a 2 week period (we were 9 hour days, get the 10th day off). On weekends, I'm usually doing a hard trail run of some sort (usually for an hour or so). I also do an agrressive upperbody workout (basicly trying to get my arm back in shape so i can start jumping again). I just like to be active. I think i'm in somewhat decent shape... I've had 3 family members go through the hospice service. My grandfather, who stayed at the hospice center itself. They made sure that he had his meds, tried to make him as comfortable as possible, and tried to make the family comfortable as well. My father had at home hospice service where they had a nurse visit him 3 times a week, and they had a doctor come in once a week. They worked with my dad's doctors as well making sure that he was as comfortable as possible. They brought in a wheelchair for him, a hospital bed, and anything else that he needed to try to make things as comfortable as possible. Also, hospice was oncall if anything came up, they were at our house very soon. My grandmother also went through hospice when she had lung cancer. They brought in oxygen, and a walker, and when she got worse, they brought in a wheelchair, and did a lot. They also have programs to help the family get through what is going on. I'm sorry for what you're going through, hospice isn't a bad idea. Ya I have the same thing happen, when I travel. Sometimes no problems, other times, you spend so long having it go back and forth the x-ray machine. One time, I left 2 hook knives on my rig. They spotted them, and took them out examining them, asked what they were for, so I told them. They said "oh that's really important", and put them back in my rig, and let me on my way... Only the TSA... I need Help!!! I'm looking at buying one, but don't know anything about them. Basicly I want something for finding lat/long. points. What are some of the good ones out there? I've heard Magellans are better than Garmins? I'm clueless (what else is new), can anyone help me? And what brand do you guys recommend!!!
