When I tried the prototype that was going around finland, I definitely felt the suit had less glide than my GTI+winggrips. I had a quite steep angle of attack and quite big speed, which is definitely good to do accrobatics. I could try it only on one jump, the suit probably requires more than that to unleash it's power. 2. Hey Pierre, moving to a bigger suit is definitely a personal choice. First what is the need of upsizing? There is always something to squeeze out of any suit, but you might want more than the suit can offer to you (small wings will remain small wings, no matter how good the pilot is). Then, what "skills" do you need for upsizing? You probably need to feel confident enough and realistic about your own skills. If you feel like you can go for a bigger one and that you're not overestimating yourself then give it a shot :) Have been flying Classic, GTI, S3, S3S prototype, PHI prototype... and when I could try the V1... I got the same adrenaline feeling pumping in my body than before my first wingsuit jump :) Flying the S3S doesn't require more than flying the S3. It just gives you more range than with the S3. Jul. First Aerial?

Don't try to find any references, read Dwain's recommendations, train to get body awareness in dead air and when you'll feel ready, you'll know what aerial to do as a first. Jul. JFK #1013 PM Me No Adrenalin.... No Fun! "Minds are like parachutes the

    Phantom

Jarno, you might be generalizing too fast. It's not because someone will fly the suit X really well for the first time that YOU will fly it really well too. A suit fitting, in term of piloting, mr Y will not obviously fit mr Z. You have to take into account the history of the pilot, the suits he has been flying with and so on. Each of us made only one first wingsuit jump and from there we build up technique depending on the equipment we used. Whatever the suit is, the choice is personal. Jul. Phantom

Hey Jarno! Interesting comments. Did you have any guys with GTI in the flock? I've never tried the Phantom yet but it would be interesting to compare the arm wings with a GTI. From pictures it definitely seem that the Phantom has more arm wings than a regular GTI and a bit more than a GTI+Extension (Thanks Ed ;)). A slow forward speed in a flock will bring the pilot to the limits of the suit and will require even better control over it to keep up with the vertical speed. With bigger wings you have more range, which is more forgiving. On the other end.. what is the point in a slow flock.. doing RW with pinguin suits? JFK #1013 PM Me No Adrenalin.... No Fun! 20. Don't be fooled by the video. He probably has faster reaction time and better spatial awareness than anyone you've ever run into. He was getting out of the way the split-second he saw her start to pitch. ok. JFK #1013 PM Me No Adrenalin.... No Fun! "Minds are like parachutes the
  21. Trying to understand in order not to make the same mistakes again. Let me know what you think of that: Usually in multiple ways you define the exit order to stack the openings. In that case you can see, according to the opening sequence that the girl is slider down and the guys slider up. It is logical that the girl should pitch first (canopy opening faster). As she is making the count she will definitely leave before the other ones if they are not vigilent enough , best is to count together to get the rythm and exit exactly when you want to exit. The cameramen should leave almost at the same time to be able to clear the girl's pilot chute. The second guy should leave a split second later because he is behind the 2 others and he shouldn't push them at the exit. Leaving really late, the second guy ends up head low because he is focusing on the girl, he is too high when she throws and as she has an offheading, he can't avoid hitting it. The unstability as well as the offheadings are not the main cause of the incident, with a 35° right offheading, the cameramen would have probably cleared it. Timing seems to be the critical point to avoid such situations, the easiest could have been to spread the 3 way on the widht of the bridge, which might not have been possible at that bridge day. Jul. scared? lonely?

How about being on top of a B, on one side the city and on the other a huge lake with Northern Lights above.. At that point I wish I would have had someone to share both the view and the jump. Lonelyness.. Jul. JFK #1013 PM Me No Adrenalin.... No Fun! "Minds are like parachutes the
