She's making my head hurt. I'm so confused. She made my head hurt too.. although I'm not completely sure her head is doing all that well today either..

Chuck's an angel... he never gets in trouble! I'm sure he is Katie!! Hope to see you and your angel in Dublin!

You will break down and get one.. mark my words You saw how easy it was at the Byron Boogie..
-
Like I said in my post, I don't use the infinity setting, but instead my lens is set at a little below infinity.. About 6 / 7 feet out.. For my lens (28 mm) that's a little below the hyperfocal point is what I find from that spreadsheet.. I'll do some more testing with it this week.. thanks for the hint! Iwan

Mike is an asshole.. but an ok one And you already broke your promise to Aviva.. she was all sad last weekend, cause it was beautiful all weekend in Hollister..

Was it really THAT stupid? I mean we only got out about 13 miles from the DZ, a little over 45 degrees in the wrong direction for jump run.. I mean.. what's so stupid about that? I agree.. jumping in Byron is COOL!!
-
You set the focus to a little bit under infinity, look at the attached image for what the infinity symbol looks like. I tape the focus ring with gaffers tape yes. From your questions it sounds like you are very new to this, which is cool.. it's a whole lot of stuff to learn. I would recommend reading the manual of your camera before you start doing stuff, make sure you're totally comfortable with the controls and have at least a basic understanding of what things mean before you jump it. Iwan

The other problem with the FD lenses is that they will not fit on a newer EOS camera, unless you use an adapter. Manual focus at 3 feet is a bit close, I set mine more around 5 or 6 feet, just under infinity.

Justi.. just get your commercial license and come fly our plane in Byron

I should come down on a Saturday so we can really boogie.. Sunday nights don't usually work very well for serious partying.. at least not if people have to work the next day

Hmm.. you got a good point there But still: feel the hate.. Now that Eugene is gone, someone has to take over right?
-
I spotted you there... GET OUT!! This is a NorCal thread.. Although 2 consecutive visits to the Byron Boogie makes you somewhat NorCal peep as well I guess San Carlos representing here!! Jumping in Byron (when the fog is not preventing it... ) Iwan

I think some early models of the 35mm Rebel might not have had this, but definately the Digital Rebel does have a remote port. Iwan
-
If you're buying a digital rebel, there's no "newer" version of it, only now they are also selling an all black version of it, so you can look like "the cool guys" that have the 10D or 20D The 20mm autofocus (I think you're talking about the Canon one right? ) is a great lens to start with! It is auto-focus, but there is a switch on it, so you can use it fully manual. I use the Digital Rebel with a Sigma 15mm by the way, and I am very very happy with it! Thanks, Iwan

Happy Birthday Sunny.. just see it as an early happy b-day, this way I can forget to do it tomorrow..

Brian, You left out an important question... 11) Penis size. For some reason small canopies with some people remind me of some folks with sports cars... I don't need to drive a sports car, I drive a Ford Focus, no compensation needed. 12) does this individuals balls "clank" when he walks Nope, I wear boxer briefs, they keep my stuff in place so they don't clank. Does this help? -
I don't but I would recommend checking out www.Steves-digicams.com and find if there are any. I have seen people jump Minolta Dimage 7i digital cameras http://www.steves-digicams.com/2002_reviews/dimage7i.html One recommendation for you though, with 156 jumps, use it on the ground for a while untill you have 200 or 300 or so jumps Iwan

You are right, it is the user's fault for not: - continuously upgrading and updating their anti-virus software - continuously upgrading and updating their spyware detection software - continuously installing Windows patches etc etc etc In order to keep your PC safe, it takes quite a bit of work. I know Gareth, and he's been around computers for a long time too.. just like me, and keeping your pc clean and "safe for the internet" is a lot of work. I'm not saying that PCs are bad, cause they are not but it is a lot of work keeping them up to date and clean of virusses. Iwan

Hmm.. I bought mine the day BestBuy had it, which was pretty much immediately, but haven't had a problem with the shutter yet, and I'm at about 13000 shots.. What does Olympus have that keeps the dust out? I won't switch for the exact same reasons, I have invested way too much money in the Canon system to switch now, but I'm curious... Yeah I know, I'm not really worried about the freefall shots, sometimes on the exit I wish I had a larger burst available.. For example a balloon jump or helicopter jump the only thing that counts there is the exit shot. If you take 1 picture as they are standing on the edge, then you already lose a shot for the actual jump.. It's a trade-off.. so far it hasn't gotten me in trouble, but a larger buffer would be a nice to have... Iwan

Its your fault all these threads get started...
