  1. If I were you, I'd find a used Canon Elan 7 camera.. The Rebel 2000 will do fine too, but the Elan is just a lot nicer of a camera. You can't go wrong with that. Iwan
  2. Daphne, Answer them honestly, you are here to skydive / on vacation, staying for a month and you have enough money to get you through that time in the US. Do you fly on one-way tickets or return tickets? They get nervous when you have a one way ticket, since that might be an indication that you're not going back. Regarding the boyfriend.. It's just another question, they want to make sure you're going back to Germany and not stay here. I've travelled in and out of the US a lot, and have to go through this every single time.. Let me know if you have any questions.
  3. Eric, Since you were talking geek earlier anyways.. What kind of compression did he use for the video, what settings? I started using Final Cut Express but i've only exported back to tape so far.. When i export in decent quality for the web (like JRock's video) it becomes a 400Mb file.. and I am not going to host that... It should come out to about 100Mb (my vid is about twice as long as JRock's) Iwan
  4. Cool.. Put me on the "will definately be there" list
  5. Happy bday Jeff! Hope to jump with you sometime soon, since in Eloy it never ended up happening
  6. And good jumping with you again Lumster!! my numbers :6:0 Went snowboarding on Saturday, and bounced around the Byron skies on Sunday.. what an awesome weekend!
  7. According to DPReview, there is in fact a remote available for it.. at least they put a remote port on the camera, so there should be one http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/konicaminoltaa2/page4.asp It's in the connections section. I have seen other people use the Minolta series cameras in the air, and they would get about 16-24 freefall shots.. pm Mathias on here, he used to have and jump a Minolta camera like this one. Iwan

  13. Personally I would try to get on the right trail plane, that way you have an un-obstructed view of the whole formation.. Although shots OVER the plane of the formation are cool too.. It's whatever you're looking for I guess..
  14. In Byron we shoot rolls of 36, so we give the customer 36 pictures at the end of their skydive. A couple on the ground when gearing up e.a. (usually around 5 or 6) about 20-24 in the air, and then another 5 or 6 when they land. I don't I video and shoot pictures of the landing, so I look through the viewfinder on my video camera (my stills are front mounted) and video and shoot at the same time, since the two are lined up to see the exact same thing. Yes, definately! Iwan
  15. That's for our OPAA project, we can't share that with the world
  16. hmm.. we're drinking tonight at GFD's house.. be afraid!!

    test

Dude.. go do your testing somewhere else..
  18. I don't know about kite surfing, only windsurfing, I've only viewed it from shore, I have never tried it. I know I'd let go of my gear at 20 feet, no way I'm gonna try to land it, but I've landed a fair amount of 10ft jumps easily.. I think with the right amount of input you can land a 50ft jump (at least in kite surfing) I don't know if a lot of people let themselves be lifted that high though.. again.. I've never done kite surfing, just windsurfing.. so I might be wrong here...
  19. They "normally" land it the same way we land parachutes.. use the lift that the sail / kite provides. I used to windsurf for years, and jumps seems very painful from an outside point of view, but you actually use the sail to gain some lift, which reduces the impact when you land again.. Obviously this guy got a bit out of control with his kite
  20. He's going to Vegas to watch a couple guys beat the crap out of each other.. Ultimate Fighting
  21. Such as? I don't know about you but I'll be using it to help support my online porn addiction. I didn't want to disclose that in public on this forum, but that's what it will be used for.. I thought this information was not supposed to leave the room at our weekly OPAA meetings.
  22. The money raised from this, will be put to good use .. You all just wait As I said.. it can be put in the boogie video.. but not as a separate production..
  23. All of vdschoor's dropzone.com 04 boogie video material is submitted to Deuce royalty free, if he wants to turn girlfalldown's fine packing ass into a major production as described above, major royalties will have to be paid to the account of girlfalldown and vdschoor Signed, vdschoor's lawyer
