:20:0 Too busy at work to even post weekend numbers.. Anyhow, did a whole bunch of tandem videos, some AFF practice jumps with our AFF instructors and some fun freefly and tracking dives..
-
Very nice pics JP!! Damn now I really want to go.. Only two years to wait, Gareth warned me I was going to miss out..
-
Did I undress for you again? I need to stop drinking so much, cause I don't remember..
-
They just called us outside to catch tandems, and we figured this configuration was stronger, since the passenger was pretty big.. Don't you see I am looking up watching were the tandem is going to fall?
-
Kurt, What dropzone did you jump at? I used to be a local in Hoevenen, before I moved to California. Iwan
-
Well.. I have to work the whole week you guys are all out there partying your ass off.. so quit your b#$%tchin' He he.. the day is almost over, have fun in Rantoul and be safe!! Iwan
-
Congrats Nick! Up to 200, is that only going to take 4 months too? he he.. Good job. Iwan

I delayed the purchase of this helmet for a really long time, with the only reason beeing that is was "too expensive" Now that I have it I regret not buying it sooner, since it is so comfortable. I "upgraded" from a Bonehead Full-Box helmet, which has a similar fit, and in my opinion is equally comfortable. It just lacks the mounting space of the Flat Top Pro. Also this helmet is so light by itself that it is a lot more comfortable on my neck.

Yiehaaa.. We're right outside Portland Oregon, about to hit the road to LP... We'll be at the place of carnage tonite!! Iwan

And it doesn't stop there with the camera, you'll also have to spend big bucks on editting equipment. DV editting is fairly cheap, but actual 16mm editing you need a lot more expensive toys

As a TI, I do NOT like that. I want to be able to see who ever it is. If I can't see them, then the video is going to be weird as I do some odd turns to find them. I would agree with AggieDave here, off to the side of the tandem is a position I prefer, both I and the tandem instructor can see that person in that case Mostly the reason people come along with a tandem is because they know the passenger, they should be flying in a position where the passenger can actually see them. Iwan

This thread is waaaay too far down on the page, it's wrong.. And since I can't stop thinking about it I figured I'll bump it up!!

So far I've only had really experienced people fly with the tandems that I filmed, or people that I knew could do it and would actually be aware of what I was going to do to get my customer his video and stills. My rule? either me and the tandem instructor (or just the tandem instructor) knows you as a safe skydiver and is comfortable with you beeing there. As to jump numbers, over 300 at least. Iwan

I'll take some tonite Basically the way it is setup right now is the Digital Rebel with the Sigma 15 in the front, the TRV17 in a D box on top (left from the center) and my 550 EX flash will be mounted on the right top. Although that will not always be on there of course.. Iwan
-
That's what I did last night, moved the L bracket down a bit, put the D box for the TRV on top, sighted the ringsight and this baby is ready to fly! Now I only have to put the bracket on there for my flash, but that's not urgent... Iwan
-
Exactly what i was thinking too, but i thought i would be nice to iwan today. But tomorrow, watch out!! You girls.. It's Vic's birthday on Saturday so we might have to drink a couple of beers with him before we take off to the Prairie get it? That's why it's up in the air still.. ha ha.. But at least one thing is for sure.. we are going! Iwan
-
Cool!! That's sort of my plan as well, I am probably going to be above it though, instead of in it Don't we need more pics of nice MadJohn loads? Iwan
-
Um.. in the morning we will be in Byron, we're driving up that day. We'll make that our stop for the night on our way to Lost Prairie Iwan
-
Geno and I might show up on Sunday for a jump or two.. Iwan
-
Aright.. we finally made up our minds, and we're leaving either Saturday night after the sunset load in Byron or Sunday morning early. We're planning on driving up north to Oregon, and then east through Spokane to the Prairie. Any places we should stop on the way? Who's going to be at Skydive Oregon? Iwan

I see all the feedback on here regarding mounting it upside down. Are you all using Stroboframe quick releases or just a thumbscrew? The reason I am nervous about it is the quick release, I am wondering if it will hold. All the "heavy" still cameras I've seen mounted, were always mounted upright instead of upside down. Everyone I saw jumping the heavy digital gear had theirs mounted upright: McGowan, Jason Peters (if I remember well..) Mark Lichtle, Deuce, etc... It's just a lot of weight to be hanging off that quick release.. I think I am just going to lower the L bracket. Iwan
-
Too late For portrait stuff, I am going to put the still on top probably, and mount it on a shark fin.. Iwan
-
That's what I am going to do tonight, re-drilling the L bracket. I am not a big fan of mounting the stills upside down, down is the direction of gravity and it just seems to risky to me to put the still camera upside down, but that might just be a feeling. thanks everyone for your input!! Iwan

SUUUURE.. front mounting a TRV 17? I don't think so. I could mount it in the front, aiming sideways, but that would make for some strange flying, and it would be troublesome with the ring sight. That's what I figured too.. I am going to redrill it tonight, I have an extra front L bracket lying around anyways.. Iwan
