I got in here at school and saw the envelope from Apple. I got my free copy of OS 10.2 Jaguar. Man, I wish I owned an Apple computer right now instead of 2 PCs. Oh well. I can always look at it.

I would go with the gear and training. If you go to Eloy, you won't be any closer to jumping with your A. You'll be further away...less money.

Now as an afterthought. You could probably put the calender listing on the main page as you do the photo. Put a link to BOOGIES and another link to INSTRUCTOR CAMPS/ETC and other things. I don't know how this site works, but depending on how people catagorize an event when posting it, they could be split up when you want (as in certain pages for each). I use that option called "export timeline" and then "windows advanced media". It has worked very well for me. The results are pretty good and it ends up being about 2MB for every minute of video. The sound is good and the video is some pixelated. You can also choose all the title, author, copyright, etc. Try it once and see how you like it.

Hey man. That sounds like a good deal! I let Jason borrow my PC120 this past Sunday to do some editing and he said he'd be able to film us on Saturday if he can get out of the office. I wonder what he was going to use. Either way, I would love to jump with you! Perhaps Laura, you and me can all jump. Also some other people could go. We are both able to stay at a certain level (I weigh 75 pounds more than her and we stayed together VERY well), so that should be good. We will be there all day Saturday and than go to the party. Hey JD...have you tried those? They look extremely basic. Not too helpful, IMHO. You really need to just sit down with the programs and play with them a lot. After you've put some time into them, you should come on here and ask specific questions. It will be much easier to help you that way and you'll learn a lot just playing around. I am currently playing with After Effects and trying to figure it out. Basically, I've put about 3 hours into it and STILL do not have anything that came out of it. However, I know a bunch of ways that it doesn't work. Rememer, Edison tried about 300 times to get the lightbulb to work. He just said that he knows of 300 ways NOT to do it. And Formula 409 wasn't done until...that's right. The 409th formula. Just keep playing. You'll figure it out and learn a lot more in the process.

I am not nearly as well versed as many on here, but I do have experience with JVC and Sony cameras. It is pretty much the concensus that Sony cameras are what you want to stick with. From what I've heard, they can stand up to the most amount of abuse. My parents' JVC is really finiky when it comes to a little abuse, so skydiving with it would be the pits. Now, miniDV is pretty much the best format out there right now. You can FireWire it to and from your computer with hardly any loss in quality. Also, the tapes are cheap now. You really need to decide if you want a top mount (TRV) or a side mount (PC) for yourself. You CAN mount a PC series on top, however. You can probably find a PC9 or 5 or a PC100 or 110 used on the net for a good price. However if you want the warranty, you'll have to go for a new PC101 or 120. I just got a new PC120 from www.dbuys.com for a GREAT price. I also purchased the extended warrenty since I use the camera about twice per week. Good luck on your decision.
